six ; lost in yesterday

So, what was I ever afraid of?
Why did I worry?
And why was I ever so brainless?
Head in a flurry

Dinah and Leora parted ways as soon as they entered Wayne Manor; one heading towards the dining room while the other held the front of her dress and walked up the grande staircase and made her way towards Dick's bedroom. The sound of music made its way to Leora's ears, and she smiled softly as she pushed open the bedroom door and saw Donna Troy sitting on the bed with Dick Grayson and Garth doing shots on Dick's desk. "No need to threat for I have arrived!"

Donna let out a sigh of relief as she jumped off the bed and pulled Leora into a hug. "Oh, thank god. I think I was about to go join the Joker in Arkham Asylum for a moment there."

Dick turned around, offended. "What? We're not that bad."

Donna hummed. "You kinda are."

"But we haven't done anything!" Dick said in defence.

"Except down a few shots," Garth said. "Boy Wonder isn't very good in that department."

Dick narrowed his eyes. "You're only good at it because alcohol is has water in it."

Garth scoffed. "Yeah right."

Donna shrugged. "He's kinda right."

Leora smiled lightly at the group and gave them a small wave. "Hey, Dick. Garth."

Garth grinned and held up his drink. "Hey, blondie. You're looking good."

Leora smiled. "Thank you."

Garth then grinned as he smacked Dick's back as the male was just staring at Leora. "Doesn't she, Dick?"

Dick blinked and looked at Garth. "What?"

"Doesn't Leora look good?"

Dick nodded as he looked back at Leora, a small smile on his face. "Yeah, Leora, you look beautiful."

Leora smiled lightly back at him as heat rushed to her cheeks. "Thank you, Dicky."

"It's been a while," Garth said and handed Leora a drink, and she opened it up straight away and took a sip of the alcohol.

Donna nodded. "It has, hasn't it? When was the last time the League had a meeting?"

"A while ago," Leora said.

Garth shrugged. "It must be something serious."

"I heard mom mention something about Ra's al Ghul while she was on the phone with Oliver, maybe he's back?" Leora said.

Dick nodded. "It has Bruce pretty wound up. After all, last they talked, Ra's wanted to destroy the whole of Gotham."

"Don't forget Star City," Leora added. "But I haven't heard anything about Talia, though. Unless mom's keeping that from me."

"I keep forgetting your parents were taught how to fight by them," Garth said, then turned his head towards Dick. "You know, considering how shit you are at combat."

Dick rose his eyebrows. "Did you just go there?"

Donna grinned as both Garth and Dick placed down their drinks. "Yeah, he just went there." Dick leapt across the room and tackled Garth to the ground and the two teenagers began to roll around while throwing punches at each other. Donna shook her head as the two girls stared at the guys. "Boys. Why do our best friends have to be these two lunatics?"

Leora chuckled lightly. "Our parents and mentor's fault. I totally blame them for ever meeting any of you."

"I wish Wally and Roy could've made it, though. Wally would definitely help out with getting the boys in line," Donna said.

"Roy would just join in on the fun and make more of a mess," Leora said.

"I was meaning to talk to you about that, actually," Donna said and turned to look at Leora. "Why did you and your mom move to Gotham? I would definitely prefer Star City over Gotham any day. This place gives me the creeps."

"Good crime rates? Change of scenery?" Leora joked. "Oliver didn't like what mom and Bruce had and they had a massive argument. The 'I don't want to see you ever again' type of argument. And mom didn't want to stand in Oliver's shadow anymore."

"Oh."

Leora nodded. "It wasn't pretty."

"And Roy?"

Leora shrugged. "Roy's alright. We still text. And of course, I'll see him for meetings and when we all have to get together and such. It's not the end of the world."

"Maybe for you, it isn't. But for him?" Donna grinned and wiggled her eyebrows.

Leora rolled her eyes and shoved her. "Oh, stop it."

Leora stood towards the side of the room, holding a glass of champagne with her right hand. Despite the obvious fact of her and three other young Justice League members being underage, no one in the room gave a care in the world and it wasn't unusual for all the millionaire's children to drink. Leora wore a beautiful green dress that came out around her waist and touched the floor—her mother insisted on the colour to stay true to her altar ego's costume. And Donna, who was standing besides her, was wearing a tight red dress, one that glittered and suited her dark hair perfectly. The two teenagers didn't care much for the gala, they were used to Bruce's monthly dances that the rest of the Justice League attended. They were tempted to ditch the place, but with Barry Allen and Clark Kent standing on the other side of the room with their respected partners, they had no chance of getting away.

"He really is a super man," Donna commented lightly, her gaze on Clark who was chatting with another man with Lois Lane by his side. "I know it's weird to say that, but damn."

Leora nodded. "It's not weird. I definitely agree with you on that one."

"And Arthur's pretty good himself," Donna commented again.

"Yep, definitely."

Donna looked at Leora and noticed she wasn't paying attention to anything she was saying, instead, she was staring at someone else standing across the room. "Alfred also does a good job."

Leora nodded. "Yeah, he does."

Donna rolled her eyes and shoved the dazed woman. "Okay, Leo, stop staring at Grayson and just talk to him. It's not like you haven't been friends with him for a few years now."

Leora snapped out of her daze and frowned at Donna. "What? I'm not looking at Dick." She knew Donna wasn't a fool, especially with the look the girl was giving her. "I'm looking at...Garth. That felt weird saying."

"He's your best friend and I know you like him. It's obvious," Donna told her.

Leora sighed. "Yeah, but he doesn't like me. He's with some girl at school."

Donna frowned. "What's her name?"

"Rebecca Kyle," Leora told her. "They've been hooking up for a while now"

Donna rose her eyebrows. "Rebecca Kyle? You mean to say that Grayson is hooking up with Catwoman's daughter?"

Leora's eyes widened. "She's what?"

Donna chuckled and shook her head as she stared at Dick. "Huh, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..."

"I didn't realise—"

"Honey, you may be smart, but I can't believe you weren't smart enough to realise that," Donna said to Leora. "Did you even look her up on the Bat computer?"

"No. Why would I need to?" She said. "I'm not going to look up everyone at school. That's stupid and a waste of my time."

"Someone with the same last name as a villain? Yeah, I'd look them up."

Leora thought about all the people she had met at Gotham High School and how any one of them could be the children of villains. 'That would explain why they're all bitches,' Leora thought to herself when she thought about the girls in Dick's group. "Do you think he knows?" Leora asked.

Donna shook her head. "No. He's probably too blinded by her seductive techniques to even realise who he's rolling around in bed with." Garth then waved Donna over. "I'm gonna talk to Garth for a bit." Leora smirked at Donna, and the girl rolled her eyes. "It's not like that! Don't have too much fun without me."

"I won't." Donna headed off towards Garth, leaving Leora alone with just a glass of champagne in her hand. She noticed how both Garth and Donna simultaneously looked at Leora before heading over towards Dick, who was stuck in a group conversation with Bruce and a group of millionaires.

"You having fun, kid?"

The voice surprised Leora that she jumped a bit, and when she saw who was speaking to her, she was even more surprised. "Oliver? What're you doing here?"

"League meeting about Ra's al Ghul. I have to come. He did train me at one point."

Leora looked around. "Where's Roy?"

"He had things to take care of. He misses you," Oliver told her. "It's not the same without you and your mother around."

"And whose fault was that? It was you two who had the fight and didn't want to be around each other." Oliver just hummed. "Anyway, you have Felicity and Diggle. I'm sure Aunt Sara would come back if you called her."

"Give her a call through time? Might need Barry for that one," he said, and Leora laughed lightly. "She's been busy running around with that other group lately. So, it's just us four."

Leora held her glass up. "To the original Team Arrow." Oliver tapped his glass against hers and the two took a sip.

"Hello, Mr Queen."

Leora rose her eyebrows at Dick's presence. She could swear he was just standing with Bruce moments ago...

Oliver nodded his head. "Grayson. How have you been?"

Dick smiled lightly. "Good. How's Star City?"

"Been better."

Dick turned to Leora and smiled. "Hey, Aurora."

Leora smiled back. "Hey, Dicky. What's up?"

He scratched the back of his neck. "Umm, I was wondering if you'd like to dance."

Oliver dipped his head. "Enjoy your night."

Leora smiled at Oliver. "See you," she said and turned back. "You want to dance?"

"Yeah."

Leora narrowed her eyes. "Last I checked, you hated dancing. And you only ever dance if it'll guarantee you a spot in someone's bed."

Dick chuckled lightly. "No, that's not my intention. Trust me."

"Are you drunk then?"

He sighed. "Leora."

There was a brief pause before Leora grinned and placed down her glass. "Yeah, I wouldn't mind a dance." Dick held his hand out and Leora lightly took it and he guided her to the middle of the room where several other partners were dancing slowly to the soft music.

Leora placed her hand on his shoulder and Dick placed his around her waist, and as Dick turned his head to face their hands, Leora got a look over his shoulder at a grinning Donna and Garth who were sending her thumbs up. Leora narrowed her eyes and stuck her tongue out in return.

"What's wrong?"

Leora turned her gaze back to Dick and shook her head. "Nothing. Nothing. It's just weird, us dancing. The closest we've gotten to dancing with each other is when we fight one another. And I always beat your ass."

"No, you don't. I do."

"Last I checked, I always win." At that moment, Leora happened to trip over her feet and she stumbled further into Dick's arms.

The male laughed as Leora got her footing right. "Well, I'm clearly better than you at dancing."

Leora simply rolled her eyes as his laugh caused a flush of red to run up her cheeks. "Whatever. You've been trained by Bruce Wayne, a man who's attended over a thousand balls and galas in his days. I just learnt by watching television and hoping for the best."

"But you'd still think that someone who's as good as you at fighting and not getting knocked down in battle wouldn't trip while swaying on the spot."

Leora rolled her eyes with a small smile. "Leave me alone."

Dick grinned. "Never."

There was a moment of silence shared between the two teenagers, the two just holding each other and swaying to the music in the background. Their minds weren't worrying about the outside world and everything happening in their lives, they were just dancing to the music and having a good night with their friends.

Dick pulled away to look down at Leora, and she looked up at him. "This is different," he said with a small smile. "This is good."

Leora smiled, also. "I'm enjoying myself, too."

"Maybe you should always be my dance partner at every gala we go to," Dick grinned.

Leora laughed lightly and nodded. "Yeah, maybe, Dicky."

Donna and Garth ran up to the pair, causing Leora and Dick to step apart from each other and look at the two approaching people. "Garth and I are getting bored," Donna told them. "Do you wanna head out with us?"

Leora rose her eyebrows. "Leave the gala?"

Dick grinned. "Hell yeah! Where you wanna go?"

The group began to walk out of the hall and made their way towards the grand staircase. Garth shrugged at Dick's answer. "Around Gotham. Does Bruce still have extra clothes lying around the place?"

"I know I have some of my clothes in Dick's room," Leora told them. And at the look Donna and Garth gave her, she said, "You know not like that. I just happen to be over sometimes when mom decides to make me suit up and head out with either her or Bruce and Dick."

Dick shoved Garth. "You can borrow some of my clothes, Fish Boy, and we'll take the drinks from my room and head out."

"If anyone catches us it'll be Alfred, and he won't dob us in," Leora told them.

Garth paused on the spot. "Speaking of the devil."

Alfred was standing in front of the quartet. Garth was standing at the front of the group with Dick beside him and Donna and Leora stood not far behind them. "Hey, Alfred."

Alfred looked at all of them. "You know that Master Wayne's gala is that way, don't you?"

"Ah, yeah. About that, Alfred. We'd like to head off and get some fresh air, Gala's aren't really our thing," Dick told him.

Alfred hummed. The whole group simultaneously gave him very innocent smiles, and the old man cracked a smile. "Alright. If Master Wayne asks, I'll tell him you're just at the local Burger King."

The group cheered and hurried up the stairs and Leora grinned and pulled Alfred into a hug. "Thank you, Alfred!" She pulled apart and headed up the stairs, leaving a smile on the man's lips.

"Not a problem, Miss Lance."
