Solana sat on the sandy beach reading 'If he had been with me' by Laura Nowlin as she felt silent tears drop from her eyes. Her internal monologue screamed out "NO!" when she read as Autumn pressed on her stomach with her hands. Baby sobs poured through Lana's chest as she wasn't able to take her eyes off the book until she heard a loud 'BOO!' from behind her making her shriek.

"What the hell! Jeremiah you dick!" She says hitting his arm as he frowns at her tear-streaked face. "What happened sunshine girl?" He said cradling her face confused as the butterflies in her stomach fluttered hard. "Finny died." She says, wiping her eyes as Jere smacked his teeth playfully. "You've read this book 7 times, Solana!" He says laughing at her, making her side-eye him. "Not too much now. If you fricking read it like I asked you to you would get my drift" She says as the two sat back down on the sand.

Jeremiah grabbed Solana's 'Ocean Blue' Calypso, gulping out of it, making her gasp in pure shock. "What the heck Jeremiah, I got you one!" She says pointing to the 'Tropical Mango' Calypso she had bought for him and he shrugged taking another gulp out of hers just to spite her. Her eyes widened and without a second thought, she grabbed him and went to drink it making him gasp as she laughed in his face.

He started to chase her as she ran from him still drinking the lemonade just to annoy him. She giggled as he tripped slightly while the warm sand got between her toes. She continued to run not noticing the stone in front of her and she tripped landing in the water. She huffed as Jeremiah laughed, putting his hands on his knees while she rolled her eyes. He extended a hand out to her and she gladly took it pulling him into the water and making him release a yelp.

Sol cacked as Jere wiped the sand off his hand laughing also. "They're here!" Sussanah called out from the house and the pair turned to look at each other.

"Race You!"

Jeremiah and Solana raced out from the beach with their soaking wet clothes as Laurel stepped out of her car. "What's up!" he says racing to her as Sussanah runs out also. Jeremiah goes to hug Steven as Belly steps out of the car making Solana gasp. "I see the glow-up belly button!" Solana shrieked, running to Belly who just laughed. "Hey to you too Sol," she said still laughing as Solana inspected her face. "God you're gorgeous mama!" Solana said hugging her again and Belly hugged her back as Steven rolled his eyes at the pair. "Well, look who came back all grown up!" Jeremiah enthused coming over to the two girls, making Isabel smile.

"Exactly what I was saying!" Solana said, agreeing when Conrad walked in from the back. Belly and him made eye contact and Jeremiah's mouth clenched not to the notice of anyone but Solana making her heart break a little. She had always known about Jere's crush on Belly but she thought he was over it.

She thought he was over her.

Conrad and Belly conversed as Solana's phone buzzed in her jeans' short pocket.

The smell of beer lingered in the summer house as Solana's father sat on the couch nursing his 5th one of the night. She quietly walked to the front door when a voice called out for her.

"Where are you heading off to Jamilah?"

Solana turned back not looking at him in the eyes. "There was this thing at the beach. I'm meeting Belly there" She responded and he hummed. She nods in an attempt to depart when he grabs her hand twisting it hard. She gasped in pain as he smirked up at her.

"Be back by 12"

Solana rubbed at her wrist which had already started to slightly bruise as she walked down the beach meeting Isabel who had on a light pink dress. "Hot" she commented lacing their arms together as she started to drag them to the beach where everyone either had a beer in their hands or were eating each other's faces without a care in the world. Belly seemed hesitant walking in making Sol turn back at her. "C'mon, babes. We partying with the whites now" she says adding a click of her tongue as Steven spotted the two girls leaving a grimace on his face.

"What are you doing here?" he says referring to Isabel and before she could answer Solana did for her. "I invited her. Y'all must think you bitches own the beach or sumn'. C'mon Bells, let's go find gas station guy" She says being petty as Steven stared agape. She and Belly walked away from the younger brother as Belly let out a 'That was so badass!'. "I know. But I think I found your dude" She says and Belly turns her direction to where Sol was looking making her grimace.

"I don't wanna go over there" She groans making Solana nod. "Good. Dude is literally 18" She says grabbing a drink for her and Belly as Belly chokes on air. "Oh!" she says as Jere spots Solana. He waves and she waves back with her left hand (because it was the only one that didn't hurt), making him confused cus she looked kind of weird doing so.

He approached the two and swung his arms over Sol's shoulders. "Bells," He says tipping his hat off drunkenly and Belly nodded not wanting to get into Jere's state. "Sunshine girl you're not in your natural habitat," He says making her roll her eyes playfully. "You're still shining though!" He says in a sing-songy voice as he slumps over her shoulder making her dip a little. "Imma get him some water, you gon be okay?" Solana said turning to Belly who was having a conversation with her eyes with some random boy she didn't know making the older girl smirk.

"I'll leave you to it"

"You have a crush on anyone Sol?" Jeremiah says lying down on the beach by the fire and Solana takes a sip of her soda. "Yeah, I don't think he'll ever like me though," She says sadly making Jeremiah frown. "What do you mean?! You're nice, kind, and drop-dead gorgeous. You're effing beautiful Sunny. There's no way he couldn't like you and if he doesn't he sucks" He says looking up at the sky as Solana felt her cheeks get hot.

He called her beautiful.

"Oh really?" she says passing him a small water bottle she found as voices started to get louder from the crowd where Conrad was arguing with 'gas station guy'. She instantly got up to see the chaos along with Belly as she tried to get them to stop arguing. Solana tried to pull Belly away but she soon got knocked to the ground making Conrad call out for her. Solana immediately went to help Belly who was cradling her cheek. "You okay?" she said as Cam rushed over in an attempt to help and Solana smiled finally recognizing him. "Hey Cam," she said helping Bells get up and he returned the pleasantry as police sirens rang out.

"Shit."

"Come on, get in the car dude," She said struggling to get both Conrad and Jeremiah in the car as Belly continued to talk to Cameron. "Bitch can you help me!" she said making Belly immediately rush over pushing Jere's legs in. Solana got in the driver's seat and tapped the passenger seat. "Yo bells. Come on we gotta go" She said noticing the police still swarming the area. "Oh, Cam can give me a ride home," she said gesturing to him and he nodded. "Cam don't take offense to this but hell no. Even with as long as I've known Cam, I don't feel comfortable letting him drive you. Especially since I have space" Solana said and Belly sighed nodding. She goes to get in the car but not before laying a kiss to Cameron's lips making Jeremiah and Conrad visibly uncomfortable.
