⚡️SEVEN.
━━━potters vs malfoys
BIRDIE WATCHED MOODY with a bewildered expression on her face, a little white ferret was in place of the younger Malfoy, shivering right where Draco stood, Capella watched it all happen with her jaw basically on the floor. "OH NO YOU DON'T, LADDIE!" Moody came forward, limping as his fake leg hit the floor, making loud noises. Everyone watched the interaction with their eyes wide open. Moody turned to look at Harry, "Did he get you?"
"No" Harry said, seeming speechless at the scene himself, "He missed"
"Leave it!" Moody exclaimed, his other eye rolling to the back of his head, Harry stumbled back.
"Leave what?" He asked, suprised.
"Not you, him" Moody said making his way over to Capella and Draco's other friends, Crabbe or Goyle? Whatever it was one of those two, Birdie didn't really know, he had frozen mid-air as he was about to pick up the ferret, Regan released a snort. Everyone turned to give her a look of disbelief.
"What? He just transformed Draco Malfoy into a ferret, what's not funny about that?" Regan asked, looking around. Birdie shook her head and watched Moody as he stepped forward towards the ferret, raising him in the air as Capella backed away with a horrified expression, "I don't think so!" he exclaimed, the ferret raised up around ten feet before falling the floor with a smack noise.
Yup, that ought to hurt.
"I don't like people who attack when their opponent's back is turned!" Moody growled, bouncing the ferret higher and higher, and kept squealing in pain, "Stinking, cowardly, scummy thing to do-"
"You put him down right now!" Capella roared, her voice full of anger as she pointed her wand towards the ex-auror, who simply ignored her.
"Never. Do. That. Again!" Moody said as the ferret bounced up and down between each word.
Birdie and Harry gave each other a look, Regan got her camera out and took a picture, Birdie gave her a glare to which she simply poked her tongue out. Ron and Hermione watched what was happening in front of them with an amused expression their face like everyone else in the Entrance Hall. As fun as watching little Malfoy get bounced in his ferret form was, she was sure Moody had went too far with the punishment, it was extreme. No one had ever turned a student into an animal before, much less bounce them up and make them fall.
"Professor Moody!" Professor McGonagall said coming down the staircase with her hands containing all sorts of books. She gave every snickering student a look making them freeze.
"Hello, Professor McGonagall" Moody said, still bouncing the ferret.
"What exactly are you doing?" Professor McGonagall said as her eyes followed the ferret up in the air.
"Wait till McGonagall finds out someone in the school turned a student into an animal before she got the chance too" snickered Birdie, Regan released a small chuckle at that.
"Teaching" Moody said, boucning the ferret once again.
"That's my fucking brother professor!" Capella cried out passing a hard galre to the Professor.
"NO!" Professor Mcgonagall said, immediately rushing forward with her wand out.
"Oooh, I've got to get this on camera!" Regan said holding the camera up to her face, and snapping a quick picture.
"Send me a duplicate of it, will you?" Harry asked, watching the girl who snorted.
"Obviously, I will" Regan said, "Who did you think I was clicking these pictures for? Myself?"
McGonagall had quickly transformed the little ferret back into Draco Malfoy, the blonde fell on to the ground with his hair messed up, and his face pink — Capella immediately rushed forward helping him up and passing a mean glare to Moody who glared back at her, Draco's eyes were tearing up, Birdie's were too but that wasn't because of pain or humiliation — it was because she had been holding in her laughter for too long.
Look, yeah, she's a Hufflepuff, and a part of her does feel bad for the kid because of the amount of time he fell on the floor with a smack noise, but the little git had after all tried to hex her brother while his back was turned to the other side so...
"Moody, we never use Transfiguration as a punishment!" Professor McGonagall said with an exhausted look, "Surely Professor Dumbledore told you that?"
"He might've mentioned it, yeah" said Moody, unfazed by everything happening around him, "but I thought a good sharp shock—"
"I want Remus back" Birdie said with a pout, she hated the new teacher.
"Me too" Regan said, "Uncle Moony was probably the best DADA teacher we ever had and will probably ever have"
"I agree with that" Hermione said, "If it wasn't for Professor Snape maybe we could've had him this year too"
"What's wrong with Moody?" Ron asked, "He seems amazing to me"
"Amazing at what?" Birdie snapped, "Abusing children?"
"It's just Malfoy" Ron shrugged and Birdie, Regan and Hermione rolled their eyes collectively at that. They watched as Moody left the Entrance Hall, clutching Draco Malfoy's arm who had once again threatened everyone by saying his father will hear about this. Professor McGongall talked to Capella for a few moments, who's face was turning more and more red with anger and both of them hurried after the Professor.
"Wait, let me look" Birdie said holding Harry's face and then inspecting it for any sort of bruise, "Does it hurt anywhere?"
"No" Harry said embarrassed, "Can you let go now?"
"I'm only checking up on you" Birdie frowned, but let go anyway — all of them then made their way to the Gryffindor table, "Look, Harry, maybe you should stay away from Moody"
"Stay away from him?" Harry asked with his eyebrows furrowed, "Why?"
"Why?" Birdie asked with disbelief, "Did you just not see him turn a student into a ferret and then bounce him?"
"Yeah, but it was just Malfoy" Harry said in an obvious tone, "Besides he was going to hex me, wasn't he?"
"Look-" Birdie was about to say something when Ron interrupted her.
"Don't talk to me" said Ron in a quiet voice, all of them sat down on their table except Birdie who was only there to talk her brother about the lesson she had today, and Moody's odd obsession with Harry.
"Why?" Hermione asked, filling up her plate with beef casserole.
"Because I want to fix that in my memory forever" Ron said with his eyes closed, Regan chuckled at that.
"You don't have to" Regan held up four photographs, one was of Moody boucing the ferret, second of when Professor McGonagall rushed forward, third was of when Professor McGonagall transformed the ferret back into Draco and fourth was Draco wimpering in pain as he held on to his hip.
Ok, that's kinda funny-
What a Hufflepuff you are, Birdie.
"He could've really hurt Malfoy though" Hermione started and Birdie figured waiting for them to stop talking would be pointless considering they don't ever stop doing that, not even in their classes so she turned her voice into a hushed whisper and talked to Harry.
"I don't know what it is about him, but something throws me off, consider it my big sister senses or something" Birdie said and Harry frowned, "Just keep your distance from him will you?"
"Alright" Harry said and Birdie passed him a smile, but before she knew it she was being pushed on to a seat, she released a yelp and saw Fred winking at her.
"Moody!" Fred said to them, "How cool is he?"
"Beyond cool" George said sitting opposite to Fred. Birdie released a scoff and tried to get up but Fred's hand was still gripping hers from when he pulled her down to sit down with them.
"Super cool" Lee Jordan said sliding into a seat next to George, he gave Fred a wink that got Birdie confused but she didn't put much thought into it. "We had him this afternoon"
"What was it like?" Harry asked hopefully, Birdie gave him a glare.
"Pure shit?" Birdie said, and the twins and Lee gave her a look of disbelief.
"What are you talking about?" Lee asked, "Were we in the same lesson or did you miss everything he did"
"That's exactly what I'm wondering, Lee" Birdie said, "Did you miss everything he did?"
"Let's just say we've never had a lesson like it" George said interrupting the two. Birdie rolled her eyes at the boys and tried to free her hand of Fred's grip, but failed. Fred didn't say much just watched the friendly Hufflepuff's eyes fill with anger at Moody's mention.

"I KIND OF remember this being a lot more fun" Birdie said, picking a small piece of grass and then tearing it from the middle, "No offense"
"None taken" Cedric said brushing her off, both of them were sitting on the grass with a picnic blanket under them, Birdie had made some sandwiches for them, it was a simple tradition Birdie, Lorelei and Cedric had, previously it used to include the Weasley twins but then the fight between George and Lorelei happened and they stopped — now it was just Cedric and Birdie sitting by the lake, "Maybe it's because Lore isn't here"
"Probably" Birdie said laying down on the blanket, "I miss her a lot more than I thought I would"
"Me too" Cedric said with a small frown and then laid down on the blanket himself, "The sandwiches are nice though"
"Thanks" Birdie grinned her mood immediately brightening up, "I used this recipe book that used to belong to my grandfather, my aunt gave me it and I've been using it, he made this recipe himself actually — the bread is self made too, it said in the recipe to use whatever home-made you can...and I'm boring you aren't I?"
"No?" Cedric said with a small huff and Birdie raised her eyebrows in disbeleif, "Ok, fine, just a bit, but it's not because it's boring, it's because I have no idea what you're talking about"
"Understandable" Birdie nodded, "So, um, how's your Quidditch thing going?"
"Oh, it's perfect!" Cedric said, a smile forming on his face, "Honestly, I think the team winning last time was the push we needed — even though we aren't going to play real games, we're doing really good, I reckon maybe this time we might be able to beat Gryffindor fairly...and I'm boring you, aren't I?"
"Just a bit" Birdie said copying his previous statement, Cedric released a small chuckle, "But it's not because it's boring, it's because I have no idea what you're talking about"
Birdie and Cedric let out a laugh at that, "How come you haven't pranked anyone yet this year?"
"I don't know" Birdie said with furrowed brows, "It honestly feels weird trying to plan pranks without El, she's always the one creating the spells and other stuff, she's the brains out of the two of us"
"We were planning to go to Hogsmeade together this year" Cedric said with a ghost of a smile, "Guess things got in the way of that"
Birdie looked at him, Cedric and Lorelei had a thing for each other back during the first three years at Hogwarts, and probably before that too because of all the play dates they had together, truthfully she didn't think they truly ever got over each other. In her mind, Cedric and Lorelei were going to be the endgame couple, and they would end up finding each other years after they tried dating and it didn't work out. They just seemed so perfect for each other, she didn't get how Cedric was crushing on Cho Chang right now, they just seemed so perfect for each other.
Maybe it's the twelve year old in her speaking, the twelve year old who always wanted her best friends to get together, marry each other, make her the maid of honor and the best man, and the godmother of all of their children, but she also knew she couldn't force them to be together no matter how much she wanted them to be.
Unless-
Birdie, no!
"How's Cho?" Birdie asked Cedric who looked over with a frown, "You like her, right?"
"Yeah, yeah, of course" Cedric said hurriedly, "She's great, just different.."
"Different?" Birdie inquired, "Different how?"
"I don't know, she's just more close, I guess?" Cedric said and Birdie frowned, the fuck did he mean by close? she thought.
"I have no idea what you meant" Birdie said and Cedric released a small chuckle.
"I don't know, with Lorelei, she was cool with everything I did, sometimes I didn't even have to tell her what I wanted to do and she would just know, with Cho, it's almost like she wants to know everything about me, and it's not a bad thing — just different that's all" Cedric said and Birdie nodded, if he really was over Lorelei why was he comparing the experiences he had...sketchy, if you ask her.
Birdie never got why Lorelei and Cedric just didn't get together, they are so perfect for each other — she would literally die if that meant getting the two of them to be together, ok maybe that's a bit extreme, but haven't you ever had friends who you can see are so desperately in love with each other and everyone else can see it, maybe even they can but they just don't get together for some reason? Lorelei and Cedric were exactly those kind of friends.
Sometimes they would all hang out together, and Birdie would end up thirdwheeling except it was even more worse than normal cause it felt like they had no idea they were acting like a couple out on a date. It was disgusting really.
"Sounds great" Birdie said, "But it doesn't"
"What do you mean?" Cedric furrowed his eyebrows.
"I don't know, Ced" Birdie said shrugging, "Are you sure you like Cho, cause everytime you mention her you kind of start talking about Lorelei"
"Of course, I like Cho" Cedric huffed, "I wouldn't be taking her out if I didn't, would I?"
"Whatever you say" Birdie said in a sing-song voice.
Completely oblivious, both of them, if you ask Birdie.
Ok so I'm going somewhere for like 4/5 days so this might be the last chapter I post this week, I'm sorry I'll try and see if I can post something from there.
