A week later the ash is still smouldering. Reminding Sydney of what happened. The burning of her own mother. The one person she had left from her family.

Loki holds her hand for support, bur it doesn't seem enough when she tears up. Loki pulls her into his embrace.

'I'm sorry I should be protecting you not the other way around...' her weak voice barely reaches Loki's ears.

'Don't apologise...please...you just lost your mother...I can't imagine what that must feel like...' he soothes her.

'And on top of that.. I harmed you.. I burned you..'

'Do not worry about that Syd.. please.. I barely felt a thing...' he waves it off.

'I had a fallout with her before it happened...she revealed something about my father during our fight.. I got so angry... that rage it... it might've set of my magic...'

'I called out for Heimdall and he called out to Odin, they saved us...not your father..your father sold us out to Surtur..'

'I need to go to Heimdall...I need to know if what she said is true..' it scares Loki how her emotions change so fluently. From tearing up mere seconds ago to a cold and stern voice.

'I suppose I have no choice but to come with you..'

They walk over the rainbow bridge and Loki starts to hesitate, if she could've done this in a fit of anger, what could she do when she possibly learns the truth?

'Are you sure you want to know if that's true?' Loki asks.

'Yes, I want to know if my life is a lie...wouldn't you want to know?'

'Yes of course but do you think it's wise to find out right after you lost her?' Loki pulls her arm and turns her around to face him.

'Who's side are you even on here?' Her tone makes Loki flinch and she relaxes before apologising.

'Sydney you're not yourself right now...and I understand but don't push me away...'

'I'm not pushing you away Loki...' she sighs.

'I've been pushed away many times, I know when someone is pushing me away Syd...' Loki replies.

'I just...I just need to know...I need to know if my father sold us out to Surtur...I need to know if he would do that...'

'If you really want to, then go ahead, I'm not stopping you...but just think about it for a moment, do you really want to give up all those good memories of your father just to know what he did?'

Sydney thinks about it, Loki does have a solid point on that. It wouldn't change anything right now but make her angrier at everything. 'I don't know what I want anymore...I don't know what's true and what's not...' she sighs. 'I don't even know how to act... yes I was angry at my mother but I didn't want her dead.. i..'

'You seem in desperate need of leadership...' Loki Jokes.

'You have no idea...' Sydney breathes. 'Lets head back to the castle... and rethink this for a moment, if you truly desire to know by the end of tomorrow... I will personally take you to see Heimdall... I promise...' He takes her hands in his and she nods.

'Just so you know, if you snore I will put you on the balcony...' Loki comments and she chuckles. 'Just so you know, if you do that...throw you off of it...'

'You need to protect me not kill me...' he scoffs.

'Oh you would survive the fall...'

'And how do you know that?'

'Because I would make sure you would...' she replies.

'Syd... You know I care about you... if you want to talk I'm alway there...'

'I appreciate that Loki... more than you will ever know...'
