Tails finished his main task he had been focused on and cleaned up a bit.
His gloved hands were darkened by the thick oil from the engine of his plane and his brow driped with sweat after his hard work.
He sighs satisfied and turned to his phone seeing the time run around 5: 30

He wiped his forehead with a shop rag and snatched up his keys heading to meet his friend.
Once he got there he was greeted by sonic.

"Heya Tails! Jeez buddy you really couldn't leave the lab coat?" He teased his friends fashion

"Eh? What's wrong with my lab coat?"Tails asked

Sonic snickers and takes it off of him
"Tails it's a bar not a lab plus chick's won't find it cool if you look like a scientist all the time" he said putting it in his car

Tails just rolled his eyes
"I'm not looking to find a date sonic" he crossed his arms

Sonic waved it off and grins
"Ah com'on Tails you'll be a real chick magnet you'll see" he said heading in

Tails shook his head at his eger friend he didn't understand why him finding a girl ment so much to him though he went along with it,heading inside the bar as well

They sit at the bar and the tender went to them as they got seated.
Tails could feel the eyes following them as they entered though after so long he grew unfazed by the people's glances as he knew it wasn't him they were staring at.
"What ya having?"Asked the woman behind the counter

"Oh um just a tonic water for me thank you " Tails said politely ordering a non-alcoholic drink

Sonic shook his head hearing his order
"Ah nah uh uh Tails I'm not drinking alone get us two shots and two pints of the Golden, mk gorgeous?" Sonic winks at the batista handing over a few rings

Tails didn't frankly understand what it was Sonic just ordered but he understood it definitely wasn't soda.
"Sonic you know I don't drink much" he said

The bar tender returns sliding them two large mugs of cold Golden beer with a frothy foam ontop along with small shot glasses beside them
"There ya go honey" she said and walked off down the bar

Sonic chuckled taking his shot glass
"Oh I know just try it Tails on three?" He hoisted his miniature glass in the air

Tails looks at his shot and rolled his eyes picking it up. He done this before with Sonic when he turned 21 and knew what was coming from the dark amber colored whiskey in the tiny cup
"Fine. But only one Sonic" he said raising his to the other glass in the air

Sonic smiled brightly and clanks thier shots together
"Cheers!" He exclaimed before downing his shot

Tails drank his shot quickly and coughed at its bitter taste.
He set his empty shot down and makes a sour face that Sonic laughs at.

"Hehe don't worry you'll get used to it drink your beer" Sonic said taking to his own mug

Tails sips his beer clearing his burning throat
"I hope not. Anything that harsh shouldn't be consumed" he said with a soft cough

Sonic snickers at his friend and shook his shoulder some.
"Ah look at us just like the old days sitting back and having a good time" he grins

Tails tilted his head at Sonic and sighs
"Sonic...this isn't like old times. Old times is when you had my back and I had yours..what you pulled today Sonic it was reckless and irresponsible. I could have gone hurt along with the woman we saved today." He said seriously and concerned about the consequences for his friends immature antics.

Sonic leans back on the counter and heavily sighs as he rolled his eyes at his friends complaint
"Yeah but Tails you had it handled and no one got hurt" he shrugged

Tails set his beer down and shook his head hearing his careless remark
"Sure but what if I didn't have it Sonic?" He asked wanting to get him to think about this

Sonic groaned turning around and looking into his glass
"Tails you've been doing this just about as long as I have
You know what to do I don't have to hold your hand besides I've always been the guns blazing type and you're the brainiac guy that always calculates stuff" he said before drinking his beer

Tails gave a irritated look and fought not to raise his voice and worked to level his temper.
"So what? I do all the actual hero work and protect people while you take the glory?" He remarks sarcastically his attitude in his voice

Sonic shook his head and huffed at the fox looking at him.
"No I'm the hero and your the side kick you help me take down the bad guys with your gadgets same as Always" he said pressing his lips as he began to grow irritated with Tails

Tails scoffed as he heard what Sonic said knowing it was a utter lie and he didn't get the same appreciation as the blue hedgehog
"Whatever Sonic" he sighs seeing it pointless to continue to reason with him any longer.

Sonic shook his head at Tails.
"What's wrong with you Tails? You changed. It's like I don't know who you are anymore. We were best friends but now it's like you just hate me and I don't know what I did for you to treat me like this Tails. Is it the Amy thing?" He asked earning a danger glare from Tails

Tails growled at Sonic and turned his seat.
"No. Don't mention it again." He warned

Sonic looked down and sighed.
"Alright.if it's not that then what?" He asked softly

Tails looks at him and shrugged.
"Just forget about it Sonic" he said

Sonic looked away both going quite for awhile though when the sound of a motorcycle was heard from outside Sonic lifted his head and groaned.
"Great. The ultimate asshole." He insulted
