Epilogue

Laughter filled the air as he looked at the image they had managed to capture of the creature. It looked human, but there was a part of it that stood out against the mint green hospital dress- the wings that were spread out. Red and orange swirled together in a beautiful pattern with specks of yellow that were barely visible in the image.

"This is the girl we were watching over for the past year,'' he said, turning to look at the group of people who stood behind him. "She had something special about her from the beginning. We suspected that from when our spies first spotted her at school and she just had this aura about her. A very noticeable one when one was looking for it. So we set up hidden cameras to watch her. Whether it be in her home, in her school,or in the bookstore, we were watching. And we saw the flash of light that occurred when she picked up a book about the constellations. When we saw that she was unconscious, we took her. We had our spies within the law enforcement inform her family that she was dead so we could watch her with no distractions. And now... now we finally know what makes her so special. She's not human. She is a dragon."

"Why do you believe she is a dragon?" a random man called out from the leader's audience. "Dragon's haven't been around for years. That and she looks nothing like one. I'd have taken her to be a succubus, not a dragon."

A smirk appeared on the main speakers face. "While she was in her deep sleep, she would occasionally murmur something. We have recordings of some of the things she said."

He reached down and pressed a button on a device on his desk. It played out a female voice that was quiet, but still easy to understand. "Draco-Dragon? Constellation? Aquila? Scorpion. Orion! Miss-too."

The recording ended, and the man smirked. "We have reason to believe that she was dreaming of the constellations. The dragon would be the constellation Draco. Aquila would be the constellation of the eagle. The scorpion must be Scorpius. While we only have a little evidence of what may have possibly happened, I believe that her wings were a gift from Draco the Dragon. For when she escaped, her last words to us were 'I am gifted'. What else could she mean by that besides that her wings were a gift to us?"

There was only silence and the man continued speaking. "I know this is a lot to take in. But I believe that if we work together, we can find where the rest of her kind are hiding."

"You mean, if they do actually exist. For all we know, that girl is the only one of her kind!" a new voice chimed in. "And the girl escaped, how are we going to find her and the unlikely rest of her kind?"

The man's smirk grew larger. "We know everything about her. We know where she lives. We know her schedule, we know where she goes to school, we know who her friends are. We know her. And we will find out what gave her these incredible wings and how they work. No matter what."

Again there was silence and the man smirked. "Get to work on finding evidence that there are other people like her out there. And do not fail me! Or else you will lose your job and everything you care about!"

Noise arose as everyone scrambled to get to work, not one person wanting to disappointment their leader in their failure to follow his commands. The man turned and stared at the image, studying the girl and her wings.

"I will get you to lead me to your friends. And then I will learn how you all tick even if it means you die in the process," he growled. "This is the beginning of a new age. The age of Azazel."

The End
