Pidge's POV:

If it weren't for Matt, somebody in this madhouse would've gotten their asses handed to them. And it wouldn't have been mine.

Green Lion shot down. All my stuff taken. Arrested and interrogated by government officials. You've probably already heard that story. Well, I'm not sure where the others were sent, nor where the Lions were. I hoped Green was okay, but I had my own problems.

Once we went through the rather, ah, well let's just say, loud, interrogation session, the jerks threw Matt and I into a large courtyard, filled with teenage delinquents. For some reason, I couldn't help but picture Keith in a place like this instead of wherever he was now.

"Great, a juvenile detention center," Matt muttered beside me. The other kids then noticed us, and a few strolled over.

"Well who's the newbies?" One sneered. "Looks like the guards were kind enough to give us new bench pressing equipment--"

"Just you wait until I get my hands on you, you piece of--"

"Katie," Matt scolded, grabbing my arm and holding me back.

"You're a girl?!" A group of prissy snotfaces snickered a few feet away. "A little flat-chested, aren't you?" The entire group burst into laughter, and a few other prisoners chuckled.

"Who's ass should I beat up first?" I growled to Matt beside me, who's grip only tightened on my arm as I rolled my sleeves up. "Come on! We beat up aliens, surely we can take these brats--"

"Let's not begin our time back on Earth picking pointless fights, okay?" Matt mumbled back, obviously as ticked as I was, but controlling his temper better than I. "Besides, guards are probably keeping a closer eye on us," he explained as he ushered us away.

I had noticed the guards' stoic gazes on us the most as they surveyed the yard.

"Yeah, go cry to your mommy," the first boy sneered. We both jerked to a stop, our hands balling into fists. "Oh wait, you can't!" The entire courtyard burst out in obnoxious laughter except the two of us.

"Can we fight now?" I practically snarled as I slid my glasses firmly up the bridge of my nose.

"Fine, only the ones who insulted us," Matt sighed in irritation. "And this is defensive fighting, got it?"

"Say whatever you want to make yourself feel better." I nodded with a smirk before lunging at the moronic jerks who insulted us. Yeah, this flat-chested girl was going to kick ass.

Did I feel bad about beating up a bunch of girls? Not at all. Most of them had height and strength on me, so I found my fighting experience and agility established a fair fight. That and I was outnumbered seven to one and was still winning as I knocked them down left and right.

I didn't have my bayard or Lion, but I'd get them back soon, and then I'd leave these crappy children to rot where they belonged.

The guards came rushing at us with guns and batons, but it didn't matter to me.

Me and Matt, we'd find the others, and we would go home together.
