Not long after the beast was suddenly and inexplicably driven away from the Ocean City amusement park, Military forces were deployed to the area, including newer prototypes of the Mk II Maser Cannon and 355mm Railguns.

The creature, which has been designated "Gigamoth" is to be killed as soon as possible before it can destroy any more heavily populated areas, as Ocean City, NJ, and other surrounding cities are being evacuated as quickly as possible.

Dusk was coming closer and closer as round after round of various weapons were unloaded into the monster approaching the city. Not much was working as the Gigamoth's horn beam was extremely powerful, and even the Maser Cannons didn't seem to do much but anger it even more. 

The forward commander shouted into his radio. "Stallion Bravo to Guardian 1, what's your ETA? We need that air support ASAP!"
"Solid copy, Stallion. ETA Five minutes. Hang in there, we're on our way!"
"Copy that!"

Following the next five minutes, the whirring of helicopter blades approaching could be heard, followed by the cheering of soldiers as they released their 30mm cannons and missiles onto the creature, which shrieked in protest. Then, it's spikes began to crackle with electricity, and it suddenly unleashed a pulse of red energy from its body. The pulse enveloped the helicopters assaulting it, causing them to crackle with electricity and loose power.

"Mayday! Mayday! I've lost power, I'm going down! I repeat, I've lost pow-"

The pilot's voice through the radio was cut off by the explosion of the craft colliding with the ground. To make matters worse, the pulse also seemed to have knocked out the Maser Cannons and Railguns. Now enraged, Gigamoth charged forward, crashing through the defenses and heading straight for Ocean city downtown.

One of the remaining soldiers leaned into his radio. "This is remainder of Stallion Bravo forces. We've failed to push back Gigamoth. Repeat, bogey is headed for the city."

Twenty hours later
August 20, 2020

Only a few hours after it reached Ocean City, Gigamoth had traveled an abnormal pattern, and headed west, straight towards the New Jersey Capital of Trenton. Now the creature tears through downtown, crushing numerous civilians underneath rubble and ruin. It approaches a tall, thin building and with a sweep of its tusks, rips into the building causing it to topple and collapse on itself.

A news helicopter unwisely approaches him to film, and is subsequently shot out of the sky by the monster's horn beam. The helicopter spun out of control and crashed into the ground, then exploded. Gigamoth shrieked in delight, then continued stumbling forward, crashing through buildings and flattening vehicles.

Suddenly, a thunderous roar broke the air, and Gigamoth turned to the source-

It was Godzilla.

The atomic lizard stood, aggressively staring down his opponent with his cold, amber eyes. He took several steps forward, approaching the behemoth insect, who in turn crawled towards him. The two stopped a few meters in front of each other, and then stood there, staring each other down. 

Finally, Godzilla bellowed, prompting an echoing shriek from Gigamoth, and the two charged each other. Godzilla Collided with the colossal crawler, throwing it to the ground, and then attempting to stomp on its head. Gigamoth countered by putting one of his tusks into the path of Godzilla's feet, stabbing it.

Godzilla roared in pain, and fell backwards, clawing at his foot. Gigamoth stood back up and fired several green bolts from his horn, causing Godzilla to further growl in agony with several loud cracks being heard. As Godzilla writhed on the ground, a dust cloud was kicked up around the lizard. Suddenly, a blue glow pierced the cloud, and Godzilla's tail curled through the air as his dorsal plates began to glow blue with a sizzling sound, like electricity. Godzilla's eyes glowed blue and he unleashed a ray of atomic energy from his mouth, which left visible burn scars on the massive insect. 

Gigamoth squealed, and fell to the ground, its body smoking from where the atomic breath had collided. It looked up at Godzilla, who was charging up another blast of his heat ray. Gigamoth shrieked, and its spikes crackled with red electricity, and unleashed a pulse from its body just as Godzilla was about to fire. The pulse hit Godzilla, and the spark in his mouth suddenly sputtered out and died, letting out a hissing sound as normal smoke trailed out of his maw. Godzilla cocked his head in confusion, and was then plowed into by Gigamoth. Godzilla planted his feet as the creature pushed him, and firmly grabbed the beast's tusks.

He suddenly hoisted Gigamoth into the air as they were nearing the shore, and slammed his opponent into the ground with incredible force, sending a dust cloud up in the air. A terrible sound of ripping flesh could be heard, and Gigamoth let out a deafening shriek of pain as Godzilla whipped his hand back, clutching one of the monster's tusks in his talon, with greenish blood dripping from the blunt end. As the dust cleared, a gaping wound could be seen on the insect's left cheek where the tusk had once been, which was also dripping blood of the same color.

Gigamoth, wounded and enraged even further, swung its tail through the air with incredible speed, hitting Godzilla straight in his snout and stunning him. The insect then turned and scrambled away, suddenly slamming into the ground and kicking up dust as it suddenly burrowed underground, and within seconds, was gone. Godzilla, recovering, looked around to see where his opponent had gone. When Gigamoth could not be found, Godzilla turned, and trudged back into the ocean, disappearing beneath the waves.
