Chapter 29: Entropy part 3

" Jennifer! Jennifer!"

Jennifer's eyes snaps open and she jumps up from fright.

Panting, her clothes entirely drenched in sweat, Jennifer covers her face with her hand.

Amelia looks down at her in concern and she questions.

" Are you okay Jennifer?"

" No."

Jennifer shook her head.

" I saw......Red."

Amelia's expression immediately turns grim and she said to her solemnly.

" That was Red's plan to force you to succumb to madness. He will frighten you and metally torture you to no return, causing his victims to commit suicide."

Jennifer looks up and she asks.

" Has he done that to you, Teddy and the others?"

Amelia didn't answer.

Instead, she walks towards her plane, switched her expression into that of a cheery one and she prompts.

" Well, come on Jennifer. You want to leave the world of Entropy do you?"

Jennifer didn't answer.

She simply obeys Amelia's instructions and climbed into the plane.

Suicidal Rocks

Jennifer looks out of the window just as the plane flies past a rather purplish land.

" What is this place?"

" Suicidal rocks."

" Suicidal?"

Amelia turns back to face Jennifer and she questions.

" Jennifer. Do you remember the suicidal thoughts I brought up earlier?"

At first, Jennifer didn't understood Amelia's words.

It was then when she looks down when it suddenly dawned on her.

Several small bobble-headed humanoids hops across the rocks, moving in a rather unison manner.

Jennifer could only cover her mouth in shock just as the bobble-headed creatures began leaping down the cliffs, falling to their deaths.

Several bobble-head creatures were even jumping around, allowing flocks of Giant Condors to pick them up.

" That's horrible. It's like those creatures are really wanting to die."

" They are. Red mentally tortures them, putting them through endless suffering. In fact, you see those small caves where the bobble-heads pops out? Those are where the bobble-heads respawns from their death, with the memories of their previous deaths still fresh in their heads."

Amelia answers.

Jennifer then summarises Amelia's answer.

" So in other words, no matter how much pain they are put through, death can't even ease their suffering?"

Amelia could only nod silently as she drove the plane forward, unable to watch the horrific sight below any further.

Gold Labyrinth

" Here we are, the Gold Labyrinth."

Amelia said as she drove the plane into a large labyrinth.

Jennifer stares at the shining gold around her and she questions.

" Is all of this really made of gold?"

" Yup. Everything, the statues, the walls, the creatures, all made of one hundred percent real gold."

Jennifer looks out and what a tiny little detail seems to catch her attention.

A small sentient walks along the golden floor, looking around.

The creature itself seems to be the only off-colour in the entire labyrinth, being blue instead of gold.

However, it didn't stay that way for long.

Almost instantly, a small machine flew past the biplane at super sonic speed, closing in onto the creature.

Seeming to have sensed that something isn't gold, the machine swoops down, picking up the creature with it's mechanical claw.

Jennifer watches the machine drag the creature away and she asks Amelia.

" Where is it taking it?"

" No idea. Let's find out."

The biplane slowly follows the machine, stopping just as the machine halts right above a large machine.

The machine releases it's grip off the creature, sending it pummeling into the machine.

A loud clank booms across the labyrinth before a figure slowly emerges from the small opening on the side of the machine.

To Jennifer and Amelia's horror, the very same creature they spotted seems to be completely gold in colour.

" King Midas would have loved it here."

Amelia remarks just as the plane flies towards an opening.

Just as the plane flew out of the gold labyrinth, the entire area around them went dark.

" What happened?"

" Ah silly me, should've told you. The gold labyrinth is connected with another labyrinth known as the Shadow Labyrinth."

" I can see why it's called that."

Jennifer remarks.

" No worries, we're almost out."

Little do they know of the horrors that awaits them at the exit of Entropy.
