Chapter 28: Entropy part 2
Forest
Jennifer's eyes snaps open and she looks around.
Somehow, she found herself in a dark and lush rainforest.
" Where am I?"
Jennifer questions herself.
She pushes herself up and she walks slowly across the forest, roaming deeper and deeper into the unknown.
Just as she strolls along the deep canopies, what she saw filled her eyes with intrigue.
Several creatures resembling deers strodes past her, ignoring Jennifer as they passes by.
" Whoa! What are those?"
Jennifer questions herself.
As she walks deeper into the forest, Jennifer encounters more creatures of different shapes and sizes.
A large sloth hanging by the tree and a pack of reptilian monsters resembling prehistoric raptors feasting on a deer carcass.
It wasn't long before Jennifer found something rather......perculiar.
A large temple stood at the bottom of a hill, seemingly deserted.
But what caught Jennifer's eyes the most is the clock symbols on the wall.
" What is this? Is it some kind of temple? I better check it out."
Jennifer scales down the hill and she walks towards the temple.
Time temple
Jennifer slowly pushes the door open and she peers inside.
To her surprise and not unexpectingly, the entire temple is ladled with time devices of all sorts.
Grandfather clocks, hour glasses, electronic clocks and even watches.
But the entire temple is surprisingly bustling with activity.
People and creatures of different time era filled the entire building, walking and talking amongst themselves.
A prehistoric Pterodactly flew past a hover drone while an Italian mobster shook hands with a native American.
Just as Jennifer steps in, she heard a loud inviting voice greeting her.
" Ah. A newcomer."
Jennifer turns and her eyes widens in both shock and recognition.
" Teddy Roosevelt?"
Teddy nods and he beams at her.
" That's right girl."
Jennifer looks around and she questions.
" How is this possible? How are there people from the past, present and future all inside one building?"
" Well young one, in this place, time does not limit any of us. When we die, our souls gets transported here and we live in this paradise for eternity. So...."
Teddy offers a hand to Jennifer and he offers in a persuasive tone.
" Join us. Live with us and peace shall be upon you."
Jennifer smiles and she rejects him politely.
" I really appreciate it sir but, I need to get home."
Teddy smiles and he said.
" Then go home you shall, Ms. Earhart!"
A tall woman with short red hair cladded in a light tan pilot jacket strods towards Jennifer and she smiles at her.
" G'day girlie. I'm Amelia Earhart and I will be helping you around the world."
Jennifer said to her.
" Thank you so much Ms. Earhart."
" Oh no worries skipper now come, we better skedaddle if we were to get you home."
" But there's just one thing though."
Jennifer pauses just as Teddy warns her.
" Ms. Earhart may be helping you in your travels but please......be careful."
Teddy looks down on the floor and he continues.
" He's watching us."
" Who?"
" Red."
Jennifer turns around just as a cowbow, whom Jennifer recognizes as John Wayne continues.
" The entire temple we lived in was built as a form of santuary. But outside, it's a world full of nightmares."
Sacagawea continues for John.
" There were some of us who went out of the temple only to be tortured endlessly by Red."
A robot slides towards Jennifer and it mentions.
" Remember, Red will be watching and the outside world is an endless maze of pain so please......be careful."
Jennifer nods and she assures the residents of the temple.
" I will. I promised."
" Safe travels my friend."
Teddy gave Jennifer a salute and he watches just as Jennifer follows Amelia towards a biplane.
Nuclear plant
" Alright Jenny dear, here's the Entropy nuclear plant."
Jennifer looks down and her eyes widens as she scans her surroundings below.
The entire area is full of buildings with large tankers emitting toxic fumes.
Amelia hands Jennifer a gas mask and she said to her.
" Better put this on dearie, toxic fumes in this area are extremely deadly."
Without needing to be told twice, Jennifer slips on a mask and she held on tight just as Amelia steers the biplane.
Snowy forest
Jennifer stares at the snowy landscape below and she comments out.
" The snow! It's beautiful!"
" Don't let the beauty of the land fool you Jennifer. There is a reason why that red stilton bag named it 'Unforgiving Cold.'"
" Unforgiving cold?"
" Take a look."
Jennifer looks down and what she saw immediately filled her with shock and sadness.
Dozens of the deer creatures she encountered earlier are lying on the ground, unmoving.
" Judging by the colour of their skin, poor critters must have frozen to death."
Amelia said sadly.
Just then, Jennifer notices something moving along the carcasses of the deer creatures.
" Look! I see something!"
Jennifer exclaims out.
Amelia smiles and she said to her
" That my dear Jennifer is a beaked gorilla. Haven't seen one in ages."
However, Amelia's feelings of intrigue were immediately shattered just as a pack of snowy white raptors bursts out of the bushes, pouncing onto the beaked gorilla.
EEEEKKKKKK!!!
The beaked gorilla squeals out in agony as the raptors bites into it, slashing it with their claws as they tore onto it's flesh.
What horrifies the Jennifer the most is the way how the winter raptors are acting.
Unlike their temperate cousins, the raptors were completely feral and insane, attacking at anything and sometimes.....nothing.
" Don't look Jennifer. It's a sad cruel world down there."
Despite Amelia's warnings, Jennifer looks down.
Down below, two raptors are locked in battle, neither willing to back down.
Both were brutally injured, blood dripping from their jaws, wounds and claws.
One of the raptors is even blinded in one eye.
Unable to bear the horrific sight, Jennifer adverts her eyes from the battle, the sounds of growling growing softer by the distance.
Night, plains
Just as the plane touches down onto a grass plain, Amelia said to Jennifer.
" Alright Jennifer, we'll rest here for the night."
Jennifer stretches her body before lying onto the grass.
As she gazes up at the moon, Jennifer couldn't help but feel an overcoming feeling of sadness.
What was it? What was this feeling?
Staring at the moon seems to overwhelm her with sadness somehow.
Then right at that moment, everything went black around her.
" No! No!"
Jennifer screams out in terror as she found herself staring into a world of darkness.
" What's going on?! Where am I?!"
Jennifer screams out.
Jennifer felt her blood running cold just as a familiar forboding demonic voice chants out.
" Melissa."
" Melissa?"
" Kill yourself."
Before Jennifer could even react, she found the entire world around her ladled with the word "Kill" in blood red, a loud repeated chanting booming around.
" No! Stop! Please!"
Jennifer pleads as she covers her ears, kneeling down and cowering as the chanting gets louder and louder.
Then right at that moment, a demonic face shot out right at her and everything around her went black.
All Jennifer could do is scream.
" AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
