Well the time has finally come for us to reach the end of the millennium series of Godzilla movies. This time with the most insane and crazy of them all Godzilla Final Wars.

Ok so how do I even describe this plot!? It's so bat shit crazy. But, I love it. We have monsters fighting monsters and people Kung fu fighting humanoid aliens. Mix that in with the most explosions in movie history and you have Godzilla: Final Wars. Originally this was supposed to be the big finale as after this one Toho vowed that they wouldn't make another Godzilla movie for 10 years so they really went all out with this one.

Plot: Ok, I'm going to do my best. Basically it's been years since Godzilla was trapped in the arctic by the vessel known at the Gotengo. Since then the Earth Defense Force (EDF) was created to combat monsters. The recruits of the EDF consisted of Mutants (people with enhanced abilities). Basically, this is where that crazy matrix stuff starts happening in the movie. These mutants all begin flying all over the place and they even manage to take down a Kaiju (ebirah from Godzilla vs the sea monster) with a basic set of weapons. It's insane.

So the rest of it goes like this The Xiliens (the aliens from Invasion of the Astro Monster) show up once again initially as good guys but it turns out they're really evil because all alien races in Godzilla pretty much are. The main bad guy in the movie is an extremely entertaining villain. He's just a blast to watch in how over the top he is. I love it.

So The Xiliens manage to take control of all of earth's monsters along with most of the mutants with the exception of our main lead named Ozaki because he and the main villain are known as something called a Keizers. Which are basically the Mutant equivalent of super saiyans and have enhanced powers.

Anyways, so with the humans out gunned and monsters roaming free their only choice is to use Godzilla to take down all the monsters across the globe. So they go to the arctic and free Godzilla.

Here is a list of the monsters Godzilla fights. The only one in the movie he doesn't fight is Manda because the Gotenga managed to destroy Manda at the beginning of the film.

(Godzilla is ridiculously overpowered in this movie. It's not even fair to these other monsters also Goal!!!).

Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah

This monster is originally seen as a new monster (Monster X) but then it evolves into the all new Keizer Ghidorah!

Godzilla is also aided by Mothra in the movie who fights Gigan and the movie also features Minilla (Minya) who can change his size. (I still don't understand how that works). Anyways, in the end Godzilla has his final battle while the humans have their final battle with the Xiliens and in the end Ghidorah and The Xiliens are defeated in a truly epic climax complete with lots of explosions. Afterwards we get a pretty cool scene where Godzilla is about to attack the humans when Minilla intervened and then the humans and Godzilla finally make their peace with each other. It's a satisfying way to end the series for Godzilla's Big 50th anniversary.The final shot of the movie has Godzilla roaring over the camera and it leaves you satisfied and yet sentimental.

After this we wouldn't get another Godzilla movie for 10 years so the wait was brutal.Although Godzilla did make a cameo in the Toho film "Always Sunset on Third Street 2." I have no idea what the movie is about. Accept that the opening scene has Godzilla in it.

Godzilla doesn't appear in the rest of the movie but it was a nice cameo. Now, before we finish this chapter off I briefly wanted to talk about Godzilla's design in this movie.

I really dig it. Everything is right in the design. I think it's the best looking Godzilla of the millennium series. Although I think the GMK headband neck looks cooler. This one still works though.

Anyways, that was Godzilla Final Wars. One of the craziest films in the series but also one of the most fun ones to. So many Kaiju, so much action, so many explosions, an over the top villain, it's just crazy and I love it. I guess my only major complaint is that with all that's going on in this movie Godzilla ends up getting lost in the shuffle and maybe there's a bit too much CGI and the movie feels overstuffed at points but I don't care. I wanted an over the top Godzilla movie and this movie more than delivers on the promise. Now, with that being said I'm going to go ahead and close out this chapter.
