"Why are we in Mexico again?" I asked.

"We detected another broadcasting of the ORCA signal coming from Outpost 56 on the top of the island's volcano." Explained Dr. Chen, the expert mythologist.

"What titan is held inside?" I asked.

"Well-"

She was cut off by a terrifying shriek from the volcano, and then a thunderous explosion as the volcano erupted.

Or at least, that's what it looked like.

I realized that what I thought was a plume of magma shooting out of the mountain was actually a gigantic Pteranodon, and as it rose out of the volcano, its wings came up out of the volcano's sides, nearly decimating the entire mountain.

I turned to Chen, who was wearing a shocked look on her face.

"What's his name?" I asked, pointing a thumb over my shoulder at the creature.

"Local legends call it Rodan," Chen replied. "The fire demon."

I paused.
"Lovely."

"Hey guys?" said Sam Coleman, the tech specialist. "Remember the storm where we lost Monster Zero? well, it's changing course, and, guess where it's headed."

"That's not possible." Rick Stanton pointed out. "No storm moves that fast."

"Unless," Chen began, "It's not a storm."

"How do you mean?" I asked her.

"Monster Zero is the storm." Doctor Serizawa said suddenly. He had been quiet for most of the time, and only now started talking again.

"The storm surrounds Monster Zero as it moves through the sky." he explained.

"He can do that?" I said, confused. "How?"

Serizawa nodded. "Monster Zero's wings are composed of hyper-tensile muscles that are so strong they can create hurricane-force winds just by moving them. When he flies, he creates so much wind force that he forms his own storm system, almost like a force field."

"Interesting." I said.

"Serizawa." Mark said. "I think Monster Zero knows that big bird here is awake. he hears his roars, like the two MUTOs back in '14."

"You think they're going to mate?" I asked.

"Hopefully not." Mark replied. "They're two different species. If we can draw the bird away from the mainland and towards Monster Zero, they'll probably fight each other. No matter who wins, at least we'll have one less titan to deal with."

"And how do we do that?" I asked him.

"Colonel Foster!" Serizawa said. "Launch our fighter jets to attack Rodan. If we anger him, maybe we can get him to follow us!"

"Copy that, doctor." Foster said. "Griffin, signal the squad."

Griffin, in the pilot seat, nodded. "Gold Squad! Weapons free! Let's piss of this pigeon." She said through the intercoms

Instantly, a squad of six Raptor jets screamed past, heading straight at Rodan. They fired their missiles, which made an explosive impact directly on Rodan's chest.

He didn't seem hurt at all, but he let out an angered KREEEEURNKT! And flapped his massive wings, taking to the air.

"I think we just pissed him off!" I yelled. "Turn this thing around, he's moving fast!"

"Agreed." Foster confirmed. "Griffin! Turn us around! Let's draw this turkey away from the mainland!"

"Copy that, colonel. Turning around. Gold squad, follow our lead." Griffin replied.

Looking through the rear view camera monitor, I watched as the jets got into a V-Formation, with Rodan following dangerously close behind. He let out a KREEURNKT! and with a quick move, he clapped the tips of his wings together, in the process destroying the back two jets of the six.

"We just lost Gold 2 and Gold 3!" Griffin yelled. "ETA to Monster Zero, three minutes!"

The four remaining jets broke up, and Rodan focused on one, following behind him with his beak poised to attack.

"Gold 5, he's on your six! Get out of there!" Griffin shouted.

The pilot ejected, only to fly straight into Rodan's mouth, which snapped closed. The jet, pilotless, fell to the ocean below.

"Gold 5's a goner!" Griffin yelled. "ETA to Monster Zero, two minutes!"

Rodan came up in line with the remaining three jets, and suddenly Rodan spun in mid air, doing a barrel roll as his wings collided with all of the jets, destroying them.

"We just lost the whole squadron!" Griffin shouted. "ETA to Monster Zero, sixty seconds!"

Rodan closed in on us.

"Forty seconds!"

He held out his talons, reaching for the ship.

"Twenty seconds!"

He was nearly on top of us.

"Ten seconds!"

His talons were nearly touching the craft.

Then,

The shape of Monster Zero popped onto the radar.

Rodan stopped, and fell back away from the ship as we entered the storm system.

Then, Monster Zero appeared right in front of us.

SHREEEEEIIK!
