Ch7. Countdown to the Awakening

It was forever night time long, long ago, before the Sun was even born. The Earth was created as a battlefield for Gods and heroes, and for the continuously raging war between Heaven and Hell. Earth was dead and dry at that time, and it was filled and burnt with fire everywhere. Earth was described as the 'Desert of Chaos'. Humans had not been created at that time, and the only living creatures were Gods, Demons and thousands and thousands of monsters.

The battle was terrifying. Hell was trying to overthrow Heaven, and Heaven of course fought back. Dragons were flying everywhere, breathing fire at everything in their path, and the seas were black with poison. The only colours on the dry land were red from the blood and fire, and black, from the darkened and stormy skies. And Demeter was one of the fighting Gods.

Demeter was the Goddess of Harvest, who also had great control over nature. When she was pleased, nature itself would grow and bloom. But Demeter was far from pleased during the war. When Demeter was fighting a demon with her green powers, she accidentally stuck the soil instead of the demon, missing him. And after a while, Demeter won against the little demon of course, as the demon was merely a weak slave of Hell, not that he mattered too much in Demeter's eyes anyway. Demeter quickly left her past opponent's body to burn into ashes and quickly ran back to the other side of the war, not giving the piece of land she accidentally struck a single look.

Night by night, years after years, the spot Demeter's green magic hit began to grow. It soon covered the dry, burning ground, and green, fresh grass began to grow. The gods, heroes and everyone who had seen the little spot of magical green grass had called it the 'Life of Miracle'. The name was very fitting, as life that green and fresh was an incredibly miraculous sight during a dark and angry war.

And the Life of Miracle had became even more miraculous when a beautiful violet flower blossomed in the middle of it. The flower reminded people of a rose, in purple colour. The flower was alluringly beautiful, yet so very fragile. One blow of wind, one drop of rain, one tiny snowflake, could make the violet flower wither without warning. The flower was so beautiful, but so fragile and weak, that even the lord of the skies, Zeus, didn't want it to die. So he thought of a solution.

At that time, only the moon hung in the sky. The sun was never heard of, as it was still not yet born. Zeus asked his beautiful daughter Artemis, the goddess of the moon, to watch and guard over the flower. Every night, silver moonlight shone on the violet rose, granting it spiritual magic of the moon. Every night, even when the greatest rainstorm was attacking Earth, even when the coldest blizzard hailed, the flower was protected. And one night, another miracle happened.

It was said that the moonlight had granted the violet plant the power to have the form of a human. The purple rose had turned into woman with goddess-like beauty and grace, and a singing voice which reminded the other gods of crystal bells. Zeus named her Violet, after the purple coloured flower she had once been, and the deep violet hues of her eyes. And just a year after her birth, mankind and mortals were born. Her beauty and her voice had made hundreds and hundreds of men fall in love, but that didn't make her less cruel. She was beautiful, yes, but her true nature was of a cruel and wicked witch. Her cruelty was accentuated by her beauty, intelligence, selfishness, unrivalled vanity and just a touch of madness. She was pretty and fragile, but that didn't mean she don't have thorns. Violet was soon named the goddess of betrayal and treachery. She was happy as most men were at her feet, but her happiness didn't last long.

She had created a sister, Scarlet, with stunning pink eyes and silk-like red hair. Scarlet was born the same way as her, from a flower, but a red one. And after her 'sister' was born, Violet realised her sister looked more beautiful than her, and much, much younger. She feared that she was losing to Scarlet. 'Her life, that pathetic Scarlet's life is all just a lie,' she always told herself. 'I made my so-called sister as a cover for my evil deeds, and I can always blame everything I did on her. I can also kill her if I wanted to.' She fakely treated her sister dearingly with care, and Scarlet was also affected by the evilness radiating off Violet. And soon, Scarlet was named the goddess of sexual desires and jealousy. She would never be as cruel as her sister, no, but she was as selfish and cruel.

After knowing what the sister really were, which they were evil witches, decided that banishing them to hell would be the best choice. The two had killed, tortured, raped and slaughtered thousands of mortals, just for fun and self-desires. Zeus was upset that such beautiful flowers turned out to have such sharp and poisonous thorns. He ordered his men and soldiers to take them down Tatarus, the deepest dungeon of the Underworld, but none of them succeeded. Violet was most powerful among the two sisters. It was rumoured that after she had absorbed the magic of moonlight, she had also became on of the moon deities and could use the powers of Artemis. No normal soldier could defeat her, and gods were blown away by her magic of the night. So Zeus made something, a special weapon, just to banish the two sisters away: the Sun.

The Sun was bright and hot, a burning ball of eternal flame. It was bright enough to turn the dark, black sky blue, hot enough to chase away the eternal bitter cold winter. The moon was beautiful, but the Sun held another kind of beauty. It's beauty was too glorious, it hurt to look. With an almighty blast, the Sun sent the evil sisters to hell. Zeus was overjoyed that the world was at peace again. He had given the Sun the crown of Apollo, and given him the power to rule over a new time: day. But he had overloooked the fact that the sisters were demons, and they could never die. After a thousand years, they would be reincarnated again.   ~Story fact.

"Oh and by the way, you're late. It's already two minutes past midnight when you poor things arrived," she said. She licked her lips. "And guess what? Just as I said, you're friends will suffer the consequences!"

At first, nothing happened. But after a spit second, Shu's eyes widened in terror as he sensed someone on the staircase towards the roof. The footsteps became louder and louder, and the door slowly creaked open.

"V-Valt?" Shu asked in surprise.

Why was Valt Aoi here? Valt didn't respond. He kept a blank look on his face, and his body was slightly tilted towards his left side. Valt's head was looking down, and Shu wasn't able to see his face.

"...Valt?" Shu asked again, his voice quieter than before.

As the blue-haired boy looked up, the Spin Emperors were horrified. Valt's supposedly brown eyes were replaced by smokey orbs of black, and his usually tanned, bright face was as pale as a sheet of paper. His face was so pale, the boys swore it was purple-lish.  A faint violet glow was radiating off his skin.

'Valt' opened his mouth, and a raspy voice came out, "I hate you, Kurenai Shu. We were never friends. You think you and your Bey are so good and great, but you're nothing but a spoilt brat. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!"

Shu gasped. He knew this wasn't Valt. This wasn't his voice; it was too gloomy to be his. Valt always looked directly at Shu, facing upwards as he speaks, never with his head down looking at his feet. This... this twin, this replica of Aoi Valt was clearly fake, and it just looked completely different from the original. But it still hurted. A lot. Having a best friend (fake best friend, Shu reminded himself) saying such things to him was like a sword through his heard. Shu knew it was fake, but he still felt so betrayed.

Before the red-eyed blader could answer, the door opened again. Seven more people came towards the roof.

Ukyo, Yugo, Orochi, Akira, Gou and Quon had never been so pale, and their eyes were all replaced by black smokey beads similar to Valt's, and all of them were walking like zombies.

"UKYO! YUGO! ...Quon?" Xhaka shouted as he ran towards his three friends' side. "What happened?!"

He placed his hands on Yugo's shoulders, but Yugo flinched and glared at Xhaka.

"Let go of me," Yugo hissed. Xhaka's eyes widened. His voice sounded robotic and possessed. "I hate you and your stupid dojo. We are never friends. I was always in your shadow, doing dirty work—" He began to rant, and the others followed. Their words became more and more hateful, and the violet light surrounding them became more and more bright and visible.

As Lui ignored a rambling angry Gou, his gaze snapped towards the smirking demon goddess who was floating above them, watching her whole plan playing out successfully.

"What have you done to Gou and the others," He hissed. Violet giggled loudly.

"Feeling betrayed hurts, doesn't it?" She said sweetly. "Oh, what I did was just a merciful punishment for being late. I'm in a hurry. My spell is to make them betray you by controlling their actions and words, but not their minds. Inside those bodies of your little friends, their souls are pretty much struggling to fight my curse. Too bad they can't break it. Nothing can break my spells! I am the goddess of treachery!" She laughed. Her eyes suddenly widened with madness.

"With the four of you darlings, I have the keys to eternal power! A millennium ago," she sneered. "I was brought down by the sun. Well, boo-hoo! With your elemental magic, I am invincible! DAMN THE SUN AND IT'S POWER, but now, nothing can stop me! Now, the Sun is weak against me! The moon and darkness will eclipse the light, and the Sun will be no more! The Sun is WEAK! You hear that?! THE SUN IS THE WEAKEST AGAINST ME NOW," she crackled, shaking with laughter. "THE SUN IS A MERE DUST, A DISGUSTING BALL OF FIRE, HOW DARE IT TAKE ME DOWN TO TATARUS?! IT IS WEAK AND STUPID. THE SUN IS STUPID. THE MOON IS A LOT MORE BRIGHTER THAN IT. So, princes, give me your powerful elemental magic so I can destroy the dumb little sun!"

"Elemental powers?" Shu whispered in confusion. "What do you mean we have elemental—" But before he could finish, a loud screech interrupted him.

Soon, all eyes were glued at one place. Not at the screaming Violet, not at her chopped-off blonde hair on the floor, not at the dagger that had shoot right past Violet's ear, cutting her hair off, not even at the strangely brightening sky, though it was clearly the middle of the night. No, they were not looking at those.

They were looking at an angry Zac, if that was Zac at all. His green eyes were glowing in the dark, his long hair and his clothes were floating around him. Zac was surrounded by a faint golden light, a soft but piecing aura.

As Shu looked closer, he saw many black and white dots surrounding Zac, some even forming different shapes.

Were those dust? Shu wondered, but he realized they weren't. They were stars, planets and constellations.

A solar system.

The other three Spin Emperors' eyes widened as they learned the fact that Zac's foot was not even on the ground. He was levitating.

Zac glared at Violet, and she shuddered slighty in fear. The air was both burning hot and bitter cold at the same time. He picked up the dagger he had thrown while twirling the other one in his hand.

"How dare you insult the Sun," he said coldly.
