Ch18. The Broken Oath The Kings Had Sworn

The legend of Spriggan, Longinus, Zeus and Xcalibur was famous among all the Souls. In the spirit realm, everyone knew about the story of how the four traveled to the human world. They were praised for their bravery to travel beyond their own realm, and their kind hearts to help the humans. And soon, some of the other Souls followed their lead towards Earth. However, unfortunately, there were still others who disagreed with the four kings.

Other than the spiritual realm Asgard and the human realm Midguard, there were seven other realms, and the realm Muspellheim was one of them. It was said that all demons came from there. Muspellheim was a land of fire and destruction, but sadly, the demons from said realm was furious with the four spirits.

Just a decade before the souls went to Earth, the demons of Muspellheim were at war with the humans of Midguard. Muspellheim won, of course. After the war, Muspellheim ruled Midguard. With the help of Pandara opening the Box, the demons took over the hearts of humans, tainting them with hatred, jealousy, sorrow, anger and darkness. But what they did wasn't against the rules of the Nine Realms. Midguard was under the rule of Muspellheim, and Muspellheim had every right to do what they wanted to humans.

All leaders of every realm, including the four spirit kings, sworn an important oath: Never touch something that wasn't their own. Meaning, the spirits cannot go to Midguard. However, the Souls pitied the humans, and decided to free them from the demons' wrath. Even though the humans were afraid of them, Earth had been a lot more brighter than it was before. Humans were happier and they lived in freedom, no longer angry and miserable; no longer the slaves of Muspellheim.

"You broke The Oath! The four of you are kings, you are responsible for keeping your promise!" A demon roared angrily.

"To hell with that oath!" Xcalibur retorted. "Yes, I admit we broke it, but we did it for peace! For fairness! What you demons did to humans are very cruel! You have gone too far on Midguard!!"

Longinus narrowed his eyes. "Do not think we cannot see your real intentions. Zeus, Xcalibur, Spriggan and I are not fools. We know you do not care about The Oath. You just want to take over another realm," he said coldly. "These thoughts of yours are not only evil, but also foolish."

Another demon, a younger Violet who still hadn't been banished to Tatarus, sneered, "What if we are trying to take over those pathetic humans? And either way, you four broke The Oath," she started to laugh. "If the four human princes you 'made friends with' aren't so deliciously appealing, I would have killed them here and now."

Some demon stepped up to her from behind. "Violet, keep those thoughts to yourself," he hissed.

Spriggan's eyebrow raised. "Kill?" He repeated slowly. "Do you have any idea of what you are saying? Those princes are strong, you cannot hurt them. If you demons really want to kill them, then you have to go through us."

Violet's eyes twinkled madly. "Ooh, so you mean war? What do you say, Muspellheim?!" She laughed.

The crowd of demons cheered and roared crazily. Chants of "KILL THE KINGS!!" could be heard.

"Demons..." Zeus groaned loudly. "Are they really that dumb...?"

But the cheers didn't stop. "OH HO HO!" A demon yelled. "WE SHALL HAVE OUR REVENGE!!"

They charged, and the Souls had no choice but to fight back. And after a few days of fighting, the legendary war between Muspellheim and Asgard broke out.

Many demons, including Violet, had been banished to Tatarus by the Sun. Yes, the kings had won battle, but demons would never truly die, and so wouldn't their desire for revenge. ~Story fact

Lui stared blankly at Violet. "I don't really care about the motherfucking oath you just said. Now, where's Shu?"

Violet sneered back, "Ha, you're stubborn, aren't you? But..." She paused and smirked. "I will bring you to him..." Violet eyed Valt who stepped back at her gaze. She snapped her fingers, and everything went black.

WHACK!

WHACK!

WHACK!

Shu woke up with a start. He felt dizzy, and his head felt light.

'Where am I... wait,' he thought. 'Violet!'

The last thing he remembered was Violet putting him to sleep with her spell. He looked around him and choked in terror. No... it wasn't the beautiful walls and chandelier of the bedroom that scared him... it was the source of noise that woke him up.

In front of him, just in front of the huge king-sized bed he was on, Valt was being striked again and again by Violet with a long, thick whip. His body and face was covered in bruises and long red marks, but the blue-haired boy didn't scream, nor cry. On his face was an angry but hopeful expression.

"Valt...?" Shu muttered, then his eyes widened as he realised what was happening. "VALT!"

Shu caught a glimpse of Valt's side. The scene before him was painful to look at. The other Spin Emperors, the Spin Emperors' friends, different bladers... all of them were chained yet again and sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall. They all looked hungry and tired, but their expressions remained calm and cool.

"Violet! What's the meaning of this?!" Shu snarled. "Stop! Stop beating Valt up! Hit me instead!!" He started to climb out of the bed in anger, but a force, Violet's spell, held him back. "Stop!! Please..."

Violet laughed and whipped Valt again hardly. Valt winced, but still made no sound. He looked paler than the others, and clearly more tired and hungry.

"Hong long?" Shu asked. "HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TORTURING VALT, YOU MONSTER?!"

"Oh, they've been here five hours before you woke up! I've only tortured three of them though..." she giggled and whipped Valt again. "I don't like this blue boy. He doesn't scream. Maybe he'll scream when I hit him hard enough!!" She crackled and beat the brown eyed blader up.

"NO! STOP IT! Please, d-don't hurt him..."

The demon grinned. "You want me to stop? Well, here's the deal," Violet took Storm Spriggan out of her pocket. Shu narrowed his eyes. She must had taken Spriggam when he was asleep! "Tell me how to get the soul from your Beyblade, then I will stop hurting him!!"

Violet gritted his teeth. Making sound for the first time, he shouted, "Shu! Don't do it! We'll think of a plan to get out of here! Please! Don't do it-!!"

WHACK!

"No! VALT!" Shu cried out.

"So, yes or no?" Violet smirked. "Give up your spinning top or your precious friend?" She licked her lips. "Do you know why we want the Souls?"

"You want to take over the whole world. That's what all you cows do."

"Other than that, I mean. The Spirits broke The Oath! They went to Midguard, Earth! Because of that, humans are so cheery and merry nowadays!" Violet shouted. "Disgusting."

"So what about some stupid oath? The Bey spirits must have broke it for a reason! And what's disgusting is you," Shu retorted with hatred in his voice. "Let Valt and the others go, you bitch! I'm not giving up neither Valt nor Spriggan!"

"So no then. Oh well, then maybe I'll torture another one... hmm, let's see," her eyes landed on Lui. She sneered. "Prince Luk... the one with Longinus... It's a pity that your pretty white skin will be beaten hard and painful."

Lui glared back at her. "So you're gonna beat me up next? Too bad. Have you forgotten what I can do to you, hmm? Will you flee again like the coward you are like last time?"

Without warning, Violet delivered an angry whip on Lui's back. He winced, but didn't say anything. "How dare you..." she growled.

"Ha. That's all you got? I'm barely itched," Lui laughed. "Unworthy little demon, I'm wasting my breath talking to you."

"Lui..." Shu breathed out. "No! Stop it!! They have nothing to do with Spriggan! I already told you to beat me up instead! Not them! PLEASE!!"

"They have everything to do with Spriggan," Violet cooed. "You care for them, so I used them to make you give up the Soul in your spinning top."

"You make me sick," Shu spat.

"Oh, really? Too bad, sick or not, the Souls still need to pay for breaking-"

"What's so important about the oath?!!" Shu yelled. He tried to struggle his way out of the bed, but Violet's spell held him down again. "LET GO OF ME, DAMMIT! IF YOU WANT SOMEONE TO TORTURE, TORTURE ME! NOT VALT, NOT LUI, NOT ANYONE ELSE! YOU SICK FUCK!"

His cries fell into deaf ears and Violet lashed out both Lui and Valt harshly. The two, however, still didn't scream and make a single sound, as if nothing was happening to them. Valt coughed out some blood.

"P-Please..." Shu's throat felt soar, but didn't care. His eyes were misty, tears threatening to fall. Shu never felt so helpless before.

"You... You think I'll be s-scared? Hmm?! A-Are you underestimating me?!" Lui was shaking, both from the pain and from his anger. He too spat out blood. He glared hotly at Violet. "E...Even though my hands a-and feet are tied, I am still s-strong! LONGINU- AHH!!!"

"I won't fall for that again, Prince Luk-"

"MY NAME IS FUCKING SHIRASAGIJO LUI, NOT PRINCE LUK," Lui shouted. "AND WHY DID YOU STOP ME? DIDN'T YOU WANT THE SOULS? HAH?"

"YEAH!" Valt yelled. "You should just poop yourself and drown yourself in the toilet, you- you coward!!"

Hard- probably the hardest- whips landed on their bodies. A scream, which Valt had been holding in for so long, tore out of his throat. Big, fat droplets of painful tears treamed down his face.

"VALT!" Tears were also pouring down from Shu's angry eyes, damping his face and cheeks.

Violet laughed. She held up Storm Spriggan. "Summon your spinning top's Soul, then all of this will be over," she said. "I'm giving you another chance to answer. Give that Soul to me so," she whipped Valt and Lui. They squeezed their eyes shut and endured the physical torment. "Their suffering ends."

Shu couldn't stand it. The scene before him was too painful to watch. His heart ached. His soul ached. Shu couldn't even cry out; it was too tiring, and he knew nothing would happen even if he screamed.

"So again, yes or no—?" Her eyes widened as Storm Spriggan in her hand began to glow and spin. She yelped and dropped the Beyblade just when it started to spin into the flesh of her palm. "AHHHH!"

She watched as Storm Spriggan spinned on the ground. It was glowing a vivid and dangerous red. A grin appeared on her face when she knew Spriggan's Spirit was going to be summoned.

Soon, the spinning Bey wasn't the only thing that lighted up the room. Every head turned to the second light source.

Shu was surrounded by a red glow— his aura. Eventually, the glow grew brighter and brighter.

"Yesss..." Violet hissed. "The awakening of Spriggan..."

Then, the glow was replaced with a crashing and life-threatening energy. The overpowering force dissolved all chains that tied around every blader. The energy surrounding him slowly became visible. His aura also returned. The energy was flickering red and golden. The heat from the energy was unbearable. Everyone's eyes widened as they realised what the supposed energy was— fire.

Red eyes blazed incandescently in rage. Shu's white hair danced with the energy and force. The tears on his face dried from the fire emerging from his aura. His flashing eyes narrowed dangerously.

Violet stepped back. Her grin disappeared, replaced by the expression of fear. The demon was too scared and nervous to even think about her own desire for the Bey Spirit.

A figure of a huge monster started to form beside Shu as his Bey kept spinning and glowing. The monster had a golden and red body, a powerful crimson light eliminating from its body. It was Spriggan.

Shu's deep voice delivered a message, "NO ONE dare touches my friends."

His voice grew deeper with a strong blast of killing instinct.

"YOUR SOUL SHALL BURN IN HELL'S FLAME, DEMON!!!"

On the side, Lui smirked weakly.
