Chapter 4

Etiu feet hurt. Her shoulders hurt. Her whole body hurt. Weary and tired, the tan skinned girl trudged on, her eyes flickering at the stone ground. "When are we going to find shelter ?" She yawned, her sides hurting.
The moon hung up above, casting it's ominous white light down on the two teenagers. After what felt like years, the outsiders came to a makeshift shelter; a small fire was flickering in the dark. Someone. Etiu grabbed her hilt of her small sword, reading her self for an attack.
"Pirra!" Hylas spoke, his voice cheery and his arms outstretched in a greeting.  The figure walked out into the night, and Etiu could just make out her beautiful black hair, her clean and manicured skin and  robes. She was obviously quite wealthy, and Etiu wondered what she was doing here. The brown haired girl frowned, saying back as the other two exchanged words and hugs. Etiu nervously smiled; she hated meeting new people, and would often avoid people if she had the chance. She shrunk back to the safety of the fire, the warm light heating her body. She shivered, but not just of cold.

After a while, Pirra turned around, smiling. "I'm Pirra, and you obviously know Hylas." She outstretched her hand in a greeting. Etiu gingerly took it and shook her tanned hand. "I'm Etiu.." She smiled, blushing of nervousness.
The black haired girl smiled, and then went back to the small fire. She was mixing herbs and some raw rabbit flesh into a bowl, and then placing it over the fire on a crosshatch.
The smell of the cooking meat made Etiu's stomach growl; she hadn't realised she was this hungry. She nervously laughed, and sat down, her hands being warm by the fire.
After a while, their meal was ready. Pirra passed out three bowls, dividing the dinner between them. Etiu ate her quickly, the warm meat sliding down her throat as making her feel warmer inside. She smiled; it was the nicest meal she had in a while.
After telling stories and eating a hearty meal, Etiu began to feel tired. She yawned, her head resting on a soft clump of ferns. Her eyes drifted and she closed them, the chatter of her two new friends in the background. She wondered what they would do tomorrow...
