Robin's POV

Cheryl was distant and didn't come into the diner anymore at the last minutes of my shifts. I tried to call her, but she wouldn't pick up and I couldn't figure out why until the devastating news that Jason had died. While Cheryl was mourning her brother's death I decided to go talk to her at her house multiple times always being told by her father that she wasn't available to talk and didn't want to see me. In my rejection, I started to drink more and play pool more on the South side not caring who saw me parading around in a South Side serpent jacket. Except at home where it stayed tucked away in my closet. Cheryl still hadn't reached out to me when school started up again for the first day, I didn't think of her as much, now realizing that maybe what liking I had for her was only just a summertime thing. 

Walking into the school building seeing one particular familiar face walking towards me. "Hey, Betty how was your summer?" I ask her while she smiles carrying a backpack on her shoulder and wearing a high ponytail that made her smile look larger than life. "It was great! How was yours?" she asks while I think back to my summer. Cheryl and I, Fp and the Serpents, getting a job. "It was interesting" I answer as the bell rings and I make my way to the first class of the day. While I was walking I bumped into a lady while she turned a sharp glaring look on her face while I looked at her in shock "Ms. Grundy?" I say confused. She was the one down at the river with Archie "Yes Ms. Lecter? I have a class to get to" I shake my head smiling "No it's nothing have a great day" I turn swiftly walking down the hallway. 

After the first period, I was coming out of my class seeing Archie waiting by the door. "What's up Archibald" I tease him while he shakes his head "The joke stopped being funny long ago," he says while he takes my books and we continue to walk down the hallway. When the bell rang all the students were called to the gym for an assembly. Walking in Archie walked over to Reggie and some other football buddies as I saw Jughead sitting on a bleacher at the top.  "Hey, Juggy," I say while he scoots over and I sit down next to him. "I hope they don't cancel the semi-formal" I look at Cheryl talking behind the podium. "Yeah, what man could bear not dressing up in a monkey suit just to impress a girl that will probably break his heart a couple of months later" Jughead says sarcastically while I punch him in the arm. "I won't be going anyways" he says while the gym erupts in cheers. 

After the assembly, it was lunchtime. Walking out to the outside tables I looked for my friends seeing Archie, Betty and Kevin sitting at a table. I walked over to them and sit down hearing music and singing flow from Archie's laptop "Woah Arch didn't think you could sing or play that good" I say while he smiles "Thanks, Robin" he says while I take a bite of my apple. That's when a girl with raven black hair and tan skin comes up to the table. Seeing her choice of outfit probably screamed "rich bitch" I scooted over to allow her to sit with us. She gave me a curt smile asking what we were up to while Betty answered and I just continued to eat. 

I smirked at the jealous look Betty had on her face as the girl asked Archie questions. "How's your first day going?" Archie asks her "Not to be a complete narcissist but I thought people would be more-" I cut her off "Obsessed with you?" I ask while she raises an eyebrow. "Any other year they would be but this year it's all about Cheryl" Kevin says while I follow his gaze to see Cheryl walking towards us. "Hey I should go I got that meeting with Grundy and then football tryouts" Archie says packing away his stuff and leaving while I follow after him. Cheryl stops me while she looks at our table "You really don't want to associate yourself with Veronica Lodge you're better than that" She says while I look at her in realization. "Wait...That's Veronica Lodge the daughter of Hiram Lodge?" I ask Cheryl while she nods "Yep and don't forget cheerleading tryouts are after school be there and I will for sure give you a spot" she says walking away while I turn to catch up to Archie. 

"Archie!" I shout catching up with him at his swift walking pace "What are you doing?" He asks while I fold my arms "I don't know what are you doing?" I ask him he doesn't answer just continues walking. "Archie really a teacher?" I ask him quietly so others wouldn't hear "Before you get any ideas she cares about me" he says while I raise an eyebrow "Sure Andrews just don't go down this path it only leads to heartbreak and mental wounds" I say as he walks into the music room. After school, it was time for cheerleading tryouts while I hung back in the locker room and waited for Veronica and Betty to get ready. "Why aren't you changed?" Veronica asks while we make our way to the gym "Cause Cheryl already promised me a spot on the team" Veronica raised an eyebrow "Hmm" she hummed while we entered the gym. My blood boiled as Cheryl raised her voice at Betty who looked like she was about to cry or murder someone...probably both. 

"Cheryl that was not cool" I say to her as the other tryouts go to the locker room to fit into their uniforms. "Oh and you know what cool is?" she replied sassily while I frowned at her "C'mon Cheryl stop being such a bitch" I say angrily while she turns to me pushing me against the wall in the hallway. "Don't call me that and if anyone is a bitch it's you" she snarls while I laugh "Truer words have never left your lips" I say while she blushes "Shut Up" she says flustered letting me go. I grab her wrist while she turns to leave stroking her cheek "I really think you should be nicer to me besides one word to your dad and I could end your reputation" I say while she glares at me. I go into the locker room changing into the River Vixen uniform as me, Betty and Veronica start to walk home. Veronica gave us her story of why she wasn't the snobby rich bitch from New York and I started to like her knowing that maybe what she said was true and that she would change. 

Archie ran over to us while Betty stuttered "I was wondering if you wanted to come with the three of us" she said while I scrunched up my face in confusion. "What?" I say confused "It's your first dance at Riverdale you should have someone to go with even if it's just a friend" Betty says while I resist the urge to facepalm. Archie was going to decline until Veronica spoke up "Not acceptable Archiekins we need an escort and you should enjoy a blissful evening with not two but three newly minted River Vixens" Veronica says while Archie agrees. Returning home I got ready for work and went down to Pop's. Seeing Jughead in a booth I walked over and sat down "Shouldn't you be working?" He asks looking up from his cup of coffee "Shift doesn't start for another ten minutes" I say while he nods "Well I was wondering if you Forsythe Pendleton Jones the third would accompany me Robin Alex Lecter to the dance this coming weekend?" I ask him while he stroked his chin mocking thoughtfulness. "Tempting I must say, but I think I'll pass" he says I groan in annoyance "Come one Juggy do it for me" He smiles "Why?" he asks "So I don't have to be Betty, Archie and the new girls' date" I say while he nods. "Perfect the two weirdos of Riverdale High both going as the weirdo power couple" he says jokingly I laugh. 

The dance had come and I was waiting for Jughead in my car while he walked out of the drive in dressed in a button-down black shirt and some jeans with his signature beanie on his head. He got in as we drove to the dance "You're looking nice" he says while I smile "Thanks you don't look too bad yourself" I say "At least our color scheme matches" I look at his black colored shirt and jeans looking down at my black dress. "True Jones very true" I say stepping on the gas and speeding down the lonely highway. Entering the gymnasium I hear Jughead blow out a breath "Yeesh I think they should have fired whoever decorated" I try to stifle my laugh "Jug not the time or place" I say leading him over to the punch table. I poured him some punch while he grabbed a tiny dessert from the snacks. Turning my attention to the stage I see that Josie and the Pussycats were playing a song while Jughead finished his dessert I set down my punch and led him to the floor. 

I threw my arms around Jugheads neck and swayed to the music. "So Jones tell me did you find anything else to write about?" I asked "Uh yeah I did I was actually writing about Jason" I raise an eyebrow "Really? Interesting" I say while he nods. "Yes It is but I did write something about you also" He says smiling. I stared into his brown eyes "Which is?" I ask feeling his stare dance with mine "I'll show you later or never" he smirks while the song finishes. He doesn't pull away until I cough awkwardly looking at the ground pulling my eyes away from his intense stare. The rest of the evening was spent going over ideas for Jughead's manuscript and trying to get that intense moment out of my head. 

I dropped Jughead at his temporary residence and went over to Cheryl's after party. Walking into the room I see Archie and Veronica go into a closet "Really? Seven minutes in heaven?" I chuckle while I go sit beside Betty seeing she was uncomfortable knowing she liked Archie. "Cheryl let's ditch the kiddie games and play something more fun like beer pong or something" Reggie interjects "Hell yeah let's ditch Robby" he says while grabbing my arm and dragging me along with him and his football friends. "Come on it's fun I bet I could beat your ass" Reggie says bouncing a ball into a cup "Alright then let's see what you got" I grab a ping pong ball bouncing it into a cup. "You're on" he smiles. Losing horribly to Reggie and getting piss drunk I decided to take my loser self back to the south side and crash knowing I would get in way more trouble if I showed up drunk at my home.

Stumbling into the bar I grip a shoulder seeing it was Joaquin. "Woah what happened to you?" he asks leading me over to a bar stool "Nothing just a little party" I say while swaying on the bar stool. "God you look horrible" he says while I laugh "I know" I exclaim "I don't feel good either" feeling like I was gonna hurl I hunch over and heave. "Woah not on the floor!" Joaquin says while I stare at the mess on the floor. That's when I hear a voice "Jesus what did you give her" I sit up straight feeling dizzy and look at Fp "Nothing I swear" the bartender said while Fp looks at me. "You're a mess come on" he says helping me up from the barstool and leading me to the bathroom. 

Leaning against the wall Fp hands me a wet paper towel and I wipe my face. "Wanna tell me how you got like this?" he asks "Afterparty after the dance got a little too competitive at beer pong" I answer seeing him shake his head. I start to feel dizzy again and cough "Jesus" Fp says annoyed and pushes my face towards the sink while I throw up. I feel his hand wrap around my hair holding it away from my face. Finally done throwing up my insides I thank Fp "Jughead was right I should never have gone to that party" I laugh "What did you just say?" he asks "I said Jughead should have never let me go to that party, try and keep up handsome" I let it slip out and I laugh "Sorry Fp" he nods "Mhm" he hums while patting my shoulder. "Why'd you want to know what I said" I ask him "It's nothing...you got a place to stay tonight?" he asks while I shake my head "Nope my parents would kill me if I showed up like this" I motion to myself. "Yeah figured...you could crash at my place if you want" he offers. 

Walking into Fp's trailer I fall onto the couch while he sits in a recliner "What's your name?" he asks while I smile "Robin Lecter but you can call me Robby" I answer "Yours?" "Forsythe Pendleton Jones the second" he answers "That means you're jughead's dad?!" I exclaim. He raises an eyebrow "Yeah" he nods "Who knew you were such a dilf" I cover my mouth laughing "I'm so sorry I promise I'll forget everything about this tomorrow" he laughs "It's fine not the first time I've been called that" he chuckles. I smirk "I bet it isn't" I say feeling tired and yawn "Goodnight Fp" I say while he gets up heading to the other side of the trailer "Night Robin" he says while I drift off to sleep.
