Robin's POV
It was a long time ago and I thought the day would never come with the divorce papers getting signed slowly and a custody battle between my father and mother. Until it was like Alex Alfred Lecter dropped off the face of the earth, signed the divorce papers, and left me and my mother with nothing, but a single car and a few hundred dollars. I remember the day my father decided to leave us like it was yesterday.
I watched the car drive down the road shouting and cursing at the man who was driving it. My father Alex had stormed out of the house yelling at my mother for only using him for his money which wasn't a lie and couldn't be more true. It still hurt to see my mother throw her wedding ring as it hit the ground a symphony of lost love followed it while it clang on the ground bouncing a few feet away. While she pulled at her hair I felt tears fall down my face like little kisses of hurt and pain embrace my cheeks. My mother yelled as the neighbours walked outside while I looked around frantically not wanting them to see me or my mother in this state, dragging my mother into the house, I set her down on the couch as she cried into my shoulder.
The next few weeks, months, years were the hardest we've ever faced even though I would gladly go back to the way things were even with all the fighting. While my mother was making money at two waitress jobs and one stripper job on the side I was out on the streets hustling with some boys from my school. Getting drugs up from the states which were from the Blossoms maple syrup...whoever those people were, but hell they got us a lot of money. I was only thirteen, but I was a tough fighter and learned a lot, from my friends Michael and Sam, who were part of the Canuckles Gang in Montreal. Learned how to drive from Michael and Sam taught me how to wield a knife and also how to use men to get me what I wanted although he would usually end up seducing the men himself. I swear he could have turned a priest gay with his smooth talking.
Sam and Michael were both brothers except when Sam died that's when everything went downhill. I was now in ninth grade and excelling in school passing tests never getting below an 80% even with my late night hits on the other gang on the other side of town. My whole life changed when I turned fourteen after a hit and run by the gang on the other side of town leaving Sam paralyzed, and then later dead in the hospital. That started an all out war between sides and Michael ended up leaving for the states saying he was going to New York to join some elitists in the drug dealing business. I didn't stick around when I was forced to carry a gun around and returned to my home and carried on with my schoolwork leaving the gangs behind me as I worked my way up to becoming top of my class and great at writing.
Then I would learn a few months later the gang on the north side of town threatened my mother, so we decided to move far away from our old lives. I looked up at the town sign that said "Welcome to Riverdale. The town with prep!" I smiled lightly at the sight of matching coloured houses. We didn't stop at any of them in the nicer part of town instead we stopped by a trailer park. "Really? Mom I thought you said we were getting a house" I look at the crappy trailer home with the paint chipped and dirty windows. "Just needs a new can of paint which you can get later" my mother says as she steps out of the car while I follow her towards the trailer. I never ended up getting that can of paint.
A few months later I had new friends on the north side of town. The guys I made friends with were Jughead Jones, Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper and Kevin Keller who didn't seem to like me much, but I guess he tolerated me. I found out Jughead was living in a trailer down on the south side just like I was and he also told me about a gang called the South Side Serpents. That's where I met the leader of the gang.

Walking into the bar I looked around in amazement at the sight of pool tables and the gang even had their own jackets. It was a step up from one of the many street gangs in Montreal who only wore bandanas around their necks. I saw a jacket lying on a chair unattended while I smirked going over and taking it off the chair swinging it on me. Then I walked around more nobody seemed to suspect I was anything other than one of their Serpents. I joined in a pool game for an hour or so until hearing an angry shout "Where the hell is my jacket?!" That was when I tried to slink away from the match and towards the door.
"Hey you!" I hear the man call as I turn around knowing I was caught "Busted" I whispered and turned on my heel. "Want to tell me what you're doing here?" He asked while his breath reeked of alcohol and he was swaying while he leaned forward "You took something that don't belong to you" he raised an eyebrow jabbing me with his finger in the collarbone. "don't touch me" I growled grabbing his wrist and glaring at him. I couldn't deny that even in his drunken glossy eyed state he was still a looker and that was saying something in my books. "You really want to challenge me?" He asked chuckling "No I want you to stop intimidating me and ask for your jacket nicely" I smiled letting his wrist drop while he smirked "Hmm I like you. You got a home kid?" He asked "Yeah" I say while he nods "Well forget that this is your new home" he smiled shouting around the bar while the other Serpents cheered and toasted with whatever they were drinking. "What's your name?" He asked "Robin Lecter" I smile "Derek Kyle" he reached out his hand and shook my hand "I'm gonna need that back" he said while I shrugged it off "Who are you anyways?" I asked "Me? I'm the leader" he smiled.
A month later I found out my mother met a rich dude at The Hoe Zone that lived on the other side of the tracks. "You really going to marry him?" I asked her while she came home late at night with cash sticking out of her pocket and a smile plastered on her tired face. "Mhm and then we'll get out of the shitty side of town" she said grabbing a beer "And I can get that new car I've been meaning to buy, and new earrings, ooh maybe..." she trailed off her eyes widening as she let out an excited squeal "yes everything! I'll get everything!" She smiled and began to watch a television show. She did marry the man two months later and we were moved to the north side.
It happened fast and then instead of evening bar trips to play pool with the Serpents I was cheerleading. Instead of a south side jacket I was wearing a River Vixen uniform. Instead of Derek Kyle there was Cheryl Blossom and I wasn't complaining both of them were gorgeous. I wasn't done with the Serpents not completely. I would still sport the jacket when I went there on the weekends and then the death of Derek had shocked all of the Serpents.
After Derek's death there was a lot of debate on who should take over. That was when a certain man stepped forward to take the role and nobody disputed with him. I only knew his first name...Fp, and that he lived on the southside and was close friends with Derek. I quit the gang after the new leader took over and committed myself to the North side of Riverdale.
