Chapter 14

I serve myself my breakfast and as I start to eat everyone else comes and goes and after a while we're alone once again.
Ha-Nice look.
-Huh?
Ha-Your hair, it looks good.
-Thank you. Did I receive anything by mail while I was gone?
Ha-No, nothing.
-Can you tell me how you met grandma? I always wondered if she conquered you or you her.
At that statement he looks surprised before he laughs a bit.
Ha-What do you want to know?
-Where you met for the first time, how you fell in love with each other. Those things.
Ha-Well, we met at work and I suppose that spending all that time together working and being together grew into a friendship that grew into love before we became a couple. We did everything together.
I listen as he tells me the story and funny or embarrassing moments they spend together. When he finishes what he wants to tell he gives me a smile. I ask him about uncle Osiris but apparently his life is more unstable. He works perfectly but outside his work and godly duties he doesn't have a very stable life.
......................
The next day I wake up by the alarm on my phone and I swipe it postponing it for another five minutes as I take my time to stretch on the bed. When the alarm sounds again I get up and I rub my eyes before I turn it off and as I take the blankets off of me. I go to my drawer and I take my new work uniform and start dressing up. When I finish dressing up and preparing I take a look at the time and I see that I'm five minutes behind schedule and I storm out of my room and downstairs and I only take a big gulp of milk and a bite off each piece off the breakfast and run off to work. I can't be late on the first day, I can't.
When I reach the police station I show my badge at the front and they let me in. They show me the only options that are left to choose from for the first day, sexual assault and hand to hand combat training, I choose hand to hand combat training and I'm show to the gym. I see that I have a class of trainees to teach and as I look at each one of them and I stop when I see two of them looking at their phone talking between them while smiling and laughing. I walk over to them and I take the phone from them. I pass around all of them and take anything that can distract them from class. When I have all of them I put them in a corner out of their reach. I walk over to them and we present ourselves before I explain some rules and I check their strong points and their weaker points. Before lunch I pair them up in pairs of two so they have a sparring partner. After lunch as I explain the exercises we're going to try I can sense a familiar aura entering the room. I don't turn to see but I know he's there and who it is. When I finish explaining I direct my attention to the trainees.
-Something you didn't understood.
I see as one of them raises a hand and I point at him to speak.
Trainee boy one-Perhaps you can do a demonstration so we get an idea on how to do it.
I nod at him and he sits down and I ask grandpa to join me at the center of the room. He does but before I can speak he asks me.
Ha-Since when did you notice I was here?
-Since you got here. Now, take a stance of attack, any attack and attack me, I'll evade.
He takes a stance and he attacks me with a starting kick which I evade gracefully as I pin him down to the floor softly as a demonstration. I stand and help him stand before they pair up and take their stances. I walk around fixing their postures and giving them advice as we talk.
Ha-Are you enjoying yourself?
-Is not how I imagined my first day going but is good. I'm enjoying myself, a lot.
Ha-Are they a good class so far?
-Yes they are.
I'm about to say something more when I hear a scream behind me. I turn around and I see two of the boys fighting but for real, not for practice. I go over them and separate them.
-Enough, break it up you two. What is wrong?
Trainee boy one-He hit me!
Trainee boy two-Not with the intention of harming you. At least not as an enemy.
Trainee one-But you still hit me.
Just like that he jumps on top of his classmate and starts hitting him. I jump on top of him and start pulling him back when he hits me in the nose. Just then my patience snaps and I put all my authority in my voice, deep and cold.
-THAT IS QUITE ENOUGH!!!
I take the trainee by the arms twisting them behind his back and I separate them easily without holding back. Once I make sure they're apart I sniff and I touch my nose. It hurts when I touch it and when I look at my hand I see that I'm bleeding.
-You two there, get him to the infirmary, NOW. The rest, keep practicing while I'm gone.
They all take their positions except for the two that were fighting and two other that are helping me. Grandpa stays in the classroom helping me keep an eye on the rest of the students while I solve this problem. I take the troublemaker to the isolation room and I leave him there with a warning.
-You're staying here until you calm down.
I leave to the infirmary to check on the other boy and he only has a swollen eye and a broken nose. Nothing too serious.
-You two, go back to class and keep practicing.
They nod and go away before I turn to him again.
-Does it hurt?
TB2-The nose hurts and my face feels numb.
-Let me see closely.
He lifts his head and I smile at him with a sigh.
TB2-Is it that bad?
Realizing what I did I laugh a bit and as he looks at me confused I allow myself to explain.
-It looks good, not as bad as I thought. I do agree with you that the nose hurts. He broke mine as well. Here, put this on your eye and rest a bit. I'll come back at the end of the day.
He nods and takes the ice pack from me and put it on his eye as I leave for the classroom. Surprisingly, the class is going as smoothly as it was before the fight. I go to my exercise bag and I take my favorite small towel and I rub my nose with it trying to soothe the pain.
Ha-Nice towel.
I give a twist to my nose as I put it back in place. I groan a bit through my teeth.
-Oh, by the love of..... that hurts. Now, what was that again?
Ha-I said that that's a nice towel.
I look at my towel and I try to suppress a smile as I realize what he means by that. I open the towel in my hands revealing a light purple towel with a golden H in the center with a skull at the side and a reaper at the other side. With a golden border accompanied by what looks like black dust as a design. I hold it out for him to see before I use it again.
-This is my favorite one. I have one for mom, one for dad, this one's for you, one for grandma and one for uncle and so on.
Ha-Are that all like this?
-Yes and no. Grandma is dark gold with white borders and design she has her peacock, her initial and two rings intertwined together inside a bubble.
Ha-Thats seems fitting. So, do you have one that represents yourself or not?
-No and probably never will. I don't have the neccesity of getting one unless you want me to do one for you.
Ha-Is okay. You don't have to.
-How were they while I was gone?
Ha-They were good. No problem at all. How are they doing?
-I got one to the isolation room and the one at the infirmary has as me a broken nose and a purple eye, swollen. I gave him a pack of ice before coming back and gave him tomorrow free. Although I think he will come anyways.
Ha-How is your nose?
-Better, still a bit out of place and aching but otherwise is fine. I have to say, I'm surprised at how strong he is. I mean, he made me bleed. It was an accident, yes but still, he did.
Ha-Lucky punch?
-Maybe, if not I have to watch him closely and carefully.
He nods and we spend the rest of the evening talking as the trainees practiced and switched between exercises and partners. Five minutes before the end of class I released them and as they leave they all shake hands with me and thank me for the class.
Ha-They like you.
-Is too soon to say for sure. Let me check out and dispatch the other two accordingly.
I go to the infirmary first and after making sure he's fine I call him a cab to take him home and then I go to the isolation room and I find him pacing across the room, he's obviously mad so instead of letting him out I enter showing grandpa how to open the door. We start talking and I keep a neutral tone as I talk.
-You know why I put you here right?
TB1-A mistake.
-What is?
TB1-He hit me and I'm the bad guy. What a joke.
-I separated you two but you kept fighting back and above all else you hit me too. You have to control yourself. Do yoga or meditate. Learn to control your temper or next time I will do far worse than put you here for the rest of the class. Tomorrow you apologize to your classmates properly.
He nods at me and I make a signal for him to open the door. We go out and I dispatch him to his home. I clock out myself and as I go home grandpa leads me to his ride. When we get there I look at him and then at his ride. Is a black motorcycle with purple lines at the sides.
-Is this really yours?
He nods at me as he sits on it. He pats the seat behind him for me to sit and I do as I put my hands on his shoulders as I accommodate. I rest my head on his back for a moment before he passes me the helmet. I put it on and as I'm not sure where to put my hands I just put them back on his shoulders when I feel him as he takes both my arms and puts them around his waist, he makes sure I'm holding tightly before accelerating. I watch as the scenery of colors passes by us until we get home. He stops and he kills the engine before taking his helmet off.
Ha-We're here, are you okay?
I take my helmet off and I straighten my hair a bit.
-Yeah, that was amazing. I didn't thought you could ride a bike.
Ha-There is a lot you don't know about me.
We go inside and I lead him to the training room.
-Here, hold these out for me.
I give him two gloves and after he puts them up I take my stance and I start practicing my high kicks and punches with him. We spend a couple of hours practicing and making small talk when we hear the doorbell. We stop and go to answer the door and I stiffen up as I see who it is.
