Log #52: Excavation of Historical Scrolls and Tablets

Centuries ago, long before the world was as we see it now, there was Notch and Hero. Beings created from the nothingness of the void, with a vision of something more than darkness, rebelled against their 'father' and created land over the darkness, held up by magic from falling into the void. Fleeing to their new world,  they created what is now known as Minecraftia.

Hero made the biomes that dot our landscape, and Notch the waters and skies we make our lives beside and under. The older brother brought the days, and the youngest the nights, the eldest made the magic rich Aether, and the youngest made the resource rich Nether.

Together, they created the spawns and mobs, created in the imagine of the youngest brother in mind. These creatures lived well together, despite what we see now. Spawns, made in the likeness of their deity, Hero, were seen as signs of good luck to mob communities and treated as such, as they could do things that helped their villages prosper.

Then, there was the introduction of Mortals, created without an equal by Lord Hero, they feared all things that weren't them. Taking to kidnapping spawn offspring, and raising them to kill and destroy the mobs and all they had built. Scattering tribes and communities, and burying that they had ever existed.

Mortals then dominated the land with only 10% of the population being Spawns, mainly in due to the wrath of Lord Hero to his brother, Notch. Who refused to go back on his creation of Mortals, believing that while destructive and distrusting they were, there was more to them than this.

Hero could not see this, for all his saw was the ruin of his people and the invasion of his home land by things spiteful beings. Thus started the first break in the rope when Lord Hero cut off connection of the Nether and resources that these Mortals needed. Very few Spawns could get through, and more so only Mobs could pass through the Nether.

Lord Hero created monstrous beings as protectors of the Nether, Ghast, Blaze, and Pigmen to name a few. To any would be Mortal or traitorous Spawn.

This caused a chain reaction, with Spawns being hunted down more for refusing to help Mortals, causing distrust of such beings who were built to be stronger and faster than them. The Eldest, growing frustrated and angry at his younger's damage to the world above, cut the Nether in half, so resources were given back to only the Overworld and not the Nether, leaving it what we see it as now.

As we can tell, this seemed to be the final straw for the youngest brother, who felt betrayed in more ways than one. Not only by family, but also sadden by just how much these Mortals and Spawn alike forgot where they came from and what was underneath them.

Taking measures seen drastic now, Lord Hero made a pact with half of the void. It's name in texts reads OUTCRY in our tongue, gave Hero power over the darker aspects of magic, mainly daemon powers, in return the nether become a haven for Enders and Withers alike. The youngest agreed, given power to match with his older brother.

Thus started what became known as the Great War.

Perhaps this Outcry didn't believe that this war would lead to parts of the world to fall into the void, or maybe that was it's plan all along. We can not now, much less we can't know just how much of our history was forced to be forgotten by the future. But if excavation of this mob village has anything to say from the tablets and scrolls we found, then is much more to the story of just how far our cruelty went.

Batter, bruised, and tired of it all, Notch's amber eyes gazed ahead in determination as his brother glared back in hate. Soulless white eyes blazed red around the edges in anger, the ones soft blue eyes gone from existence.

The two's powers hit again, creating a ripple of power over the battle field like the sound of a gong. Notch knew what he had to do, to watch the world fall apart at the edges. But, to do so would mean the division of the brother he loved dearly still.

Hero pulled back and dove down to Notch at full force, knocking his brother to the ground hard, Notch was quick back on his feet. He quickly dodged the fireballs sent at him, weaving along the broken, burnt ground. He flew back into the sky, the tips of little hair he had singed away.

Notch tackled Hero to the ground, tears in his eyes as he yanked his battered brother to his feet, placing on him silver cuffs that suppressed his magic. Notch felt sadness as he held his brother tightly. Hero glared back in hate, he knew what Notch was doing as he opened the portal to the Nether.

The older god felt tears fall down his eyes as Hero was dragged into the portal screaming at his brother. Notch watched as it closed and he closed his eyes with a soft sob.

After that day, no mortal, mob, or spawn heard from the god since.

So this was a glimpse on the past of Notch and Hero, both have their faults. Hero refuses to look deeper at things, and Notch tends to be the impulsive and too trusting one.

I felt the song and picture I used were best fitting.

Picture came from Annkh-Redox, so credit to her for the picture, you all should read her comic Light In the Darkness: https://www.deviantart.com/annkh-redox

The song itself, while I don't watch MLP, felt to me to carry the message somewhat, of how Notch was blind to the fact Mortals were dangerous if left unchecked, and Hero allowed his anger to take control of all rational thought.

And yes, you'll all see who this Outcry is soon.
