training day | .04

Remy stood up again, holding her arm as she covered the wound she got. Hal's sword disappeared as well, as he aimed his ring towards Remy, his hands now holding a machine gun. Remy quickly regained the fighting position, her eyes wide on the green gun.

"You have to be ready for anything." He spoke, remembering the words Kilowog told him on day one. Hal started shooting as Remy created a circular shield to cover from the raining fire. She planted her feet into the ground as the force was slowly moved her back. Remy took the chance and threw the shield at Hal to stop the gun - and it did.

She exhaled in relief but didn't have time to react before a hook came towards her. Remy created a bubble around herself, blocking the incoming threat and shattering the hook. A smile formed before the circle dissipated and she hit the ground under her, causing it to crack and the shot under it reach her target - Hal. Hal stood up quickly, taking flight upwards and avoiding the attack.

Without even thinking about it, Hal quickly sent a huge green fist towards the woman. Remy saw this and quickly put both her arms to defend herself - but Hal's will was more than her's and it pushed her a few yards back. Breathless, Remy dropped her arms as she quickly formed a sniper in her hands.

The dark haired woman inhaled sharply as she aimed down the green crosshairs and aimed for Hal's head. She held her breath as she pulled the construct's trigger, sending the bullet towards Hal.

Hal saw the green bullet flying towards him and quickly pointed his ring outwards and built a brick wall a few inches away from his body - breaking the entire bullet. Once the wall fell down, Hal stared at Remy, a unimpressed look on his face. "Not cool."

"Nice." Kilowog spoke as Remy walked towards him, fisting bumping as Hal landed near the two with a mad expression.

"I'm the one who taught you that!"

_____________

"Where is Remy?" Ashton asked, the tips of his mouth turning downwards. He expected her of all people to be here when him and Ricky get discharged from the hospital, but the third sibling was nowhere in sight. But their father was. Ellis drove the two to their apartment, saying he has business to deal with and will be back soon - his usual excuse.

Ashton led Ricky up the stairs of the apartment, opening the door to see that his apartment was different. There was a banner that said 'Get Well Soon!' in bright colors and big letters. There were also a lot of people - friends and Remy - who stood in the middle of the apartment.

"Ash! Rick!" Remy ran over to the door, grabbing her siblings and pulling them into a massive hug, but she couldn't squeeze too hard because of their injuries. A smile broke out on her face as she let them go.

"I called it. I knew some shady shit was going down when you weren't at the hospital." Ricky said, smirking alongside her sister as Remy led her siblings to the big group of friends to greet them and wish them recovery until Remy saw a too familiar face.

Remy starting walking over to Hal until Ashton did the same but reached Hal before her. Remy held a confused look before her brother said, "Hal, this is Remy, my sister."

"Your friends with this douche, Ash?"

"This is your sister?" The two asked the cop as he furrowed his eyebrows. Ashton chuckled, watching as their expressions change to confusion.

"I'm guessing you two know each other. Anyway, Hal works for Ferris Air, a co-company with the department." Ashton explained further, gesturing to Hal as he wore a smirk. Remy crossed her arms nodding as she understood.

Remy looked over to Hal, motioning for him to follow her into the other side of the room. Remy said her farewells and left Hal and Ashton alone for a while. Once Remy reached the other side of the living room, she turned her back towards the crowd and pulled out her green lantern ring. The ring started to glow a faint hue of green.

The TV was turned on beside her, making her take a seat on the couch and watch it. She was conflicted, to say the least. How was she going to tell her siblings she met green lantern, is a green lantern, and kinda needs to save the world from time to time? 'You can always not tell them.' A small piece of her was leaning towards that idea, but how was she going to explain to them the random disappearances and leaving for days at a time?

She gave a sigh, putting the ring back in her pocket and focused on watching TV. It was on a commercial until the tv quickly switched over to the news channel with the blonde newscaster reporting breaking news.

"Reports are coming in, there is an armed robbery at Union and 7th! It seems to be that there is around seven robbers and they have taken hostages. An official number is not yet released."

Remy stood up as Hal and her eyes connected - their expressions that exact same as Hal nodded before quickly exited the apartment through the front door. Remy was quick on his heels, grabbing her ring as she put it on once she reached the sidewalk. Hal did the same as the two lanterns quickly launched themselves into the air and to the bank.

"Oh, this is going to be fun." Remy said more to herself than any to anybody in particular. She tried to keep speed with Hal, but she knew Hal was slowing down for her. A smile formed on the rookie's face as the two lanterns arrived at the bank where the cops were just arriving as well.

"How do you want to handle this?" Remy asked Jordan but turned to see only empty space. Remy turned to her right and saw the green lantern flew towards the back. Remy clenched her jaw, knowing him, he would want to finish this by himself but Remy wasn't one to sit on the sidelines.

Remy flew to the top of the back, hoping to find an entrance there, but to her luck, nothing was there. Remy groaned, flying back to the front of the bank. Remy went through the front door - knowing it was a stupid plan, but went with it.

"Alright, put your hands up and the hostages down and I'll let you leave with a few broken bones." Remy announced cockily.

The robbers shared a look before they all raised their guns to the glowing woman that was floating above all the people. Remy had no clue if she was bulletproof and she wasn't about to find out so almost immediately, Remy projected a big fist to the right. Remy swung her fist as she heard a loud groan from the back of the bank and our came the other green lantern. Seven of the twelve robbers aimed at Hal instead of Remy - since he was causing a bigger scene than Remy.

"You have no sense of dramatic irony, do you?" Hal quipped once he dropped some of the unconscious robbers and Remy jumped into action. The woman rolled her eyes, creating a small shield to cover her from incoming fire and then throwing it at the targets below her.

Hal grunted, looking up at Remy to see one of the robbers coming up behind her. Hal aimed his ring at Remy as he yelled, "duck!"

Remy - almost dismissing the command - looked at Hal before quickly squatting down and the strike hit the man square in the face. She looked at the fallen man before looking back at Hal, who in turn, winked at her. "Anytime, darlin'."

It took everything in Remy's body to not fly over there and punch him right where the sun don't shine, but she held her composure and handled the situation at hand. Once all the robbers have been dealt with, both of the green lanterns quickly headed out the front, before telling the cops everything was handled.

"Job well done, eh?"

"Well done, my ass. I will have bruises until next week." Remy complained as she saw her brother's apartment in sight. The two of them took off their rings as they entered the backyard. Hal almost entered but Remy put a hand out to stop him.

"We can't just walk in and act like nothing happened - we were gone for like 30 minutes!" Remy reminded him, putting her hands on her hips as she tried to come up with lies to tell her brother. Many ideas ran through her head as she grimaced at the thought of what she was about to do.

Remy started walking into the back door, grabbing the sleeve of Hal's brown leather jacket and pulling him along with her. Remy walked into her room in the apartment - thankfully it was the closest one to the back door - and closed the door. Hal smirked cockily as he knew what she was doing.

"Don't get too ex-"

Before she could finish her sentence the door opened, causing Hal to grab Remy's blouses' collar and pulled her into a kiss. Remy's eyes widen as she stared at Hal before melting into the kiss. The man who entered stuttered as he quickly closed the door.

Once the door was closed, Remy broke the - admittingly good - kiss as she stared at Hal as he still wore his cocky little smirk. "I am going to beat your ass for that, Hal."

Hal walked to the door, messing with his hair a bit before looking back at Remy and said, "kinky."
