Feeling something brush her cheek, Remy opened her eyes slowly. Her tired eyes met Hal's entrancing green ones, a smile gracing his features.

Damn that smile, Remy thought.

"Good morning, gorgeous." Hal's voice was like music to Remy's ears. She smiled tiredly as she stretched, feeling a bit sore from last night's activities. Hal saw this and only chuckled silently.

Looking down, Hal was in his boxers and jeans but his shirt and bomber jacket was hung on the door. Hal lightly pecked Remy's forehead, heading towards the door.

"Coffee?" Hal asked, grabbing his phone from his pocket. Remy hummed, standing up from the bed. Hal nodded, leaving the room.

Remy grinned as she grabbed her clothes from her drawers, grabbing a tank top and shorts. Going through her phone, she got a text from Chloe - multiple texts from Chloe. She groaned, forgetting to tell her best friend about her 'police training.'

Calling Chloe, it didn't even ring once before she picked up.

"Remy fucking Gardner!" Chloe's voice boomed through the phone, making the woman wince put the phone away from her ear. She heard Chloe chastising about her absence and how she didn't get a single text.

After waiting a few moments, Chloe stopped.

"Are you done?" Remy asked, putting the phone back on her ear.

"No."

"Perfect, will you now give me a chance to tell you what happened?" Remy spoke, looking at Hal's bomber jacket, a smirk gracing her features.

"No, you are going to meet me at the usual place and tell me what the hell you have been doing for the past three weeks!" Chloe yelled once again, not giving Remy the chance to speak before she hung up the phone.

Remy chuckled, putting her phone in her pocket as she grabbed Hal's jacket from her door hanger and exited her room. She heard noises coming from the kitchen, laughter joining into the mix as Remy raised an eyebrow.

She entered the kitchen, her hands on her hips as Hal sat with Ashton and Ricky. They spoke, Hal chuckling a few times as the coffee finally finished. Hal stood up, picking up two mugs from the cabinet and poured two cups of coffee.

Ricky saw Remy in the hallway right outside the kitchen and excused herself from the conversation. That grin that was plastered on her features only made Remy roll her eyes playfully.

Ricky grabbed her arm, but not before looking at the jacket she was wearing. Ricky dragged her sister to Remy's room, probably wondering what it looked like after last night.

Closing the door behind her, Ricky put her back on the door as squealed. Remy's eyebrows shot up, running over and putting her hand over her mouth to silence her.

"Promise not to do that again?" Remy gave Ricky a look as she nodded, saying something that was muffled by her hand. Remy took her hand off her mouth as she cheesed widely, jumping around her room.

Remy only sighed and put her hand on her temple. She was an embarrassment.

"Oh my god, I knew it! I knew it! You two are so cute! And you are wearing his clothes!" Ricky tried to keep her voice down but she failed.

Remy opened her mouth to speak but the sound of the door opening silenced her. Both of the girls turned to the door find a shirtless Hal Jordan carrying two mugs.

"Oh, I'm interrupting, I'll come back-" Hal started but Remy cut him off.

"Nope, Ricky was just leaving, right?" Remy gestured to the door with her eyebrows, telling her leave. Ricky nodded with a knowing look, a smile still on her lips.

Before she left, she whispered to Remy, "round 2."

Ricky skipped out of the room, Remy biting her lip as she wanted to punch her sibling. Hal came in, placing the mug that said okayist sister on the dresser where her ring was sitting.

Hal took a sip of his drink as he closed the door behind him. Remy smiled weakly, grabbing the mug and taking a seat at the edge of her bed. Hal followed her, crossing his legs under him as he stared at Remy.

She looked at Hal, not wanting to be the one to bring up the subject. They were going to have to address it sooner or later.

"Hal-"

"Before you say a word," Hal begin, putting his mug on her nightstand filled with pictures of her siblings, Hal took the moment and grabbed her face - kissing her deeply.

Hal broke the kiss, a smile on his face as he nodded, indicating she could go on. Remy clenched her jaw, not wanted to be the one to ruin the mood. Hal was so sweet, and cocky - yes - but he had his moments.

"We have to talk about it." Remy stated with authority. She stood a sip of her coffee, looking at Hal through the top of the rim.

Hal whined like a child, "I don't wanna!"

Remy tittered softly, her hands wrapping around the warm mug. This side of Hal was amusing but she didn't know if she liked him more than the one she had met in the Green Lantern Corps.

Feeling his phone vibrate, Hal picked up his phone without checking the caller ID.

"Hello?"

Remy raised an eyebrow, his facial expressions twisting into one of disgust and annoyance. He groaned silently as the person on the phone spoke to him.

Hal turned to Remy, still on the phone, as he mouthed the word work. She nodded, tittering softly as Hal just hummed to the person on the line before eventually handing up.

"Duty calls." Hal spoke, standing up from his side of the bed. Remy stood up as well, drinking the last of her coffee as Hal put his shirt on. He turned around, kissing Remy deeply.

Remy smiled against his lips, knowing she couldn't bring herself to do it. Hal broke the kiss, his gaze on her as he inhaled sharply.

She raised a brow, waiting for him to speak.

"Damn, you look hot in my clothes, babe."

_______________

Here Remy was, sitting at a cafe in the middle of downtown Coast City. She knew that she was going to get a beat down from Chloe when she came, but all she hoped for was that she didn't see through her lie.

Swirling her ice in her drink, the chair across from Remy was pulled back and now occupied. Remy looked up, seeing her redhead best friend with a stone expression on her face. Chloe's eyes burned with a fire in her eyes as she said nothing.

Remy nervously chuckled, "uh, hi?"

Chloe's lips pressed into a thin line, her face holding an unimpressed expression. Chloe put her purse to the floor, and grabbing her cup of water.

"Spill everything. You leave nothing out, Gardner, you hear me?" Chloe finally spoke, anger evident in her tone.

"I have been in Central City, CCPD boot camp for the past month, and it had been hell." Remy emphasized the last word, making it seem as if she hated the month she had been away, because she did.

Chloe nodded, indicating for Remy to continue.

"First, they take away your will," not a lie, "then they break you," and not a lie.

Chloe put her water down back on the table and grabbed the menu. She said nothing, which was starting to piss Remy off.

"I couldn't wait to come back to Coast City." Remy finished, grabbing a menu as well. She read through it as Chloe hummed.

"And why did I not get a single text?"

Remy put the menu down, giving Chloe and unamused brow. Chloe looks at her and smiled widely.

"How has your life been?" Remy turns the tables, her eyes going back to the menu. Scanning through the plates that they had, Chloe gave Remy a shrug.

"I've gotten a job at the Ferris Air in Uptown, working with Carol Ferris herself, and it's right by my apartment, which is perfect-"

"C'mon! I go for a month and you want to tell me about your quite boring job - tell me something juicy, like, is there a special someone?" Remy wiggles her eyebrows, a small smirk on her features.

Chloe rolled her eyes playfully, looking back at the menu. Before Chloe would answer, the waiter came and took the two women's orders. Chloe ordered a drink and Remy got a salad.

"So, how is it going with your shrink?" Chloe asked with a brow raised. Remy exhaled as she put the menu down. She suppressed the urge to groan loudly with a roll of her eyes.

"I haven't gone in forever, Chloe, I'm fine." Chloe only hummed in response.

After the waiter left, Chloe turned back to Remy to say something but she only gasped. Remy looked confused, trying to see where Chloe was looking. It wasn't at Remy's eyes, it was something on her chest.

"Is that was I think it is, Remy Vivian Gardner?"

"Bring out the middle name, it must be serious," Remy joked but Chloe didn't laugh.

"Is that a hickey on your collar?" Chloe pointed, her eyes wide with a smirk on her face.

Remy's eyes grew, pulling her jacket closer to her and to cover her collarbone. Chloe tittered, trying to calm herself down as Remy mentally cursed herself and Hal Jordan.

"Who could it be? Is it somebody in Central City? I hear they're cute." Remy laughed nervously, fidgeting with her fingers as Chloe waited for her friend to say something.

"Okay, I'll tell you if you don't freak out." Remy compromised, raising a brow at Chloe - who nodded vigorously.

"It's Hal Jordan."

And she freaked out. Chloe put her hands to her mouth, shock resistored in her face as she just stared at Remy.

"Highball! You're fucking Highball!" Chloe started laughing. Highball?

"Highball?" Remy asked, confused on the nickname. Isn't that a drink? Remy didn't know, but she guessed it was a Ferris Air thing - considering the two worked at the same place.

"Highball, it's Hal's call sign, but we gave it to him because his recklessness - Carol doesn't particularly like it, but we call him that." Chloe explained once she finished laughing. "I can't believe you and Highball are dating."

Chloe grinned widely, drinking her water as her eyes widen.

"That's why he lost his jacket. 'Lost.'" Chloe put air quotes around the word lost, making her laugh loudly. She wasn't going to lie, she stole his jacket.

"I'm so going to tease the hell out of him today." Chloe spoke.

The waiter came back with Remy's salad and Chloe's cappuccino and excused himself. Silence filled the table, Remy looking out onto the busy street beside her.

She had time to contemplate her current predicament. Was Hal and her dating or was it just a one night stand? She wanted to date him, hell, she wanted to stay with him forever but she couldn't, he was a yellow lantern.

After eating her caeser salad, the waiter came by and put the check at the end of the table. Remy and Chloe shared a look.

"Please Chloe, for the love of God, do not make a scene and let me pay this one time." Remy pleaded as she went to grab the check but Chloe wasn't having it. She grabbed the check before Remy could, already having her wallet out.

Remy groaned, trying to get her wallet from her pocket. Once she pulled it out, the wallet wasn't the only thing that came out.

Chloe's eyes left the check to what left Remy's pocket. Her jaw dropped as she picked it up off the table and examined it.

Mentally cursing herself, Remy couldn't believe it. Chloe had picked up her Green Lantern ring.
