Athena's eyes opened slowly, everything was fuzzy at first. She wiggles her toes and clenched her fists to prove to herself she wasn't dreaming. Her movement must have made a noise because a voice came calling through.

"Athena?"

"Uh yes?"

Then a flaming red head burst through the curtain.

"YOU'RE ALIVE!" Lily hugged Athena tight, wiping a happy tear.

"Well I won't be much longer if you keep squeezing me!" Athena laughed, rubbing her head.

Lily let go smiling and grabbed her hand.

"I heard yelling, what happened" asks Minerva rushing in. She gasped. "You're awake!"

Athena had a wide smile.

"How are you dear?"

"Good, I think" She nodded.

"Oh wonderful!"

Athena talked with Lily for while and got checked out to make sure everything was okay. Minerva brought some school work to catch up on, luckily it seemed doable to Athena.

"What's the one healing spell again?"

"Episkey" Lily raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah that one, thanks" Athena nodded.

"But you know that right?"

"What?"

"The spell."

"No really Lily, I haven't exactly had time to read ahead like you." Athena winked

Lily's face was confused but before she could say anything Lily was cut off by booming footsteps.

"Athena!!"

"Hey James" Athena sat up.

"How are you?" Remus looked her over.

"Good, I guess considering everything that's happened" Athena shrugged.

"You're sure?" Peter asked.

"Yep, I'm all good."

The boy smiled.

"So, any pranks yet?" Athena asked hopefully.

"No, we've been too busy worrying about you silly!" Laughed James.

"Oh that's gonna change as soon as I'm out of here!"

Athena sat with the boys and Lily. They had lots of questions about what happened. She couldn't truly answer them considering all she remembered was pain. James told Athena about how he had been chosen for Quidditch team captain, and that he hoped she would be able to try out next week. Athena was a chaser, small and quick.

"So how much school have I missed?"

"Well it's September 28th" said Remus "So about a month"

"Merlins beard! I missed my first month as a fifth year, OWLS are gonna be hell."

They all looked confused.

"What?" Lily asked, puzzled.

Just then the door burst open.

"Why didn't anyone tell me she was awake?"

"We couldn't find you mate!" James put on a smile as Sirius came running in.

"Athena!"

"Hey Sirius" Athena smiled as he came up to her.

"How do you feel?" He asked inspecting her over.

"Good, I think"

"Perfect, I missed you"

He stroked back her hair and went to press his lips to hers.

"Sirius, what the bloody hell are you doing" Athena said pushing him off.

Sirius drew back with a hurt and concerned look, he turned to the others who had similar expressions.

They all looked concerned.

"What?" Athena asked glancing at all of them.

"Athena, what year are we in?" Lily paused.

"Well Fifth obviously! But you guys started without me." Athena nodded with laugh.

Her laughter faded when the group started to look at each other. Sirius looked shocked, like all the air was forced out of his lungs.

"I-Is it not?" Athena looked unsure.

The group was quiet, eyes on the ground.

"Answer me!" She demanded.

"No Athena" Remus practically whispered "Its seventh year"

Athenas heart went to her throat. 7th year.

"This isn't funny if this is a prank." Athena shook her head.

Sirius took a step back.

"This isn't a prank" James replied with a sad look.

So she did the first thing that came to her mind. Run. Athena sat up and stepped off her bed. When she realized she could walk, Athena took off.

"Wait!" She heard voices calling behind her.

But Athena just kept running. Tears whipped down her face as she sprinted down the corridor. Her hair had fallen in her face, but she never stopped. Eventually Athena was outside of Hogwarts,Running till she reached the forest. The place that had taken her memories. Athena's two years. She wanted to yell and scream and curse at the forest but nothing came out. Nothing but sobs. How could this happen? Being tortured was enough and Athena remembered every moment of that. But this? She felt hollow inside. Like a piece of her life was gone. The person her friends had known, wasn't there. Sirius's face, he looked heartbroken. Athena couldn't comprehend what was going on. So many questions were running through her brain she felt as if she would explode. Athena slumped down next to a tree, scrunching her brows trying to remember. Eventually Athena got a headache from racking her brains out. The forest got dark and quiet. Athena had never truly felt afraid before. She had always been a brave little girl, who spit in the face of danger. Athena had felt sadness, anger, mistrust, basically all the negative feelings but never quite to the extent of being afraid. Now when she thought of her future, she felt petrified. She found her mind wandering back to Sirius. Athena may not have remembered the past two years but she would always remember Sirius. The soaking wet boy she met at the Gryffindor table their first feast. The boy who helped her pull the biggest prank in 3rd year. Her best friend. But that was it, it stopped after that. Athena had enough of sulking and decided to head back.

She couldn't hide from everyone even though her memories were hiding from her.
