Ch.12 Reflection of Darkness

The grass blew softly in the wind as the sound of huffing and puffing blew along with the sound of the wind. In the distance there was a young boy, with a heart of courage, swinging his wooden sword.

Up from the grass came a little girl around his pre-teen age. Her (h/c) (h/l) hair blew behind her and rested behind her shoulders. She looked around, looking for something.

Once her eyes laid on the dirty blond boy her (e/c) eyes grew wide with joy. She ran down the hill fast enough to almost make her trip, but she didn't.

The boy stopped and started at the girl before grinning with pride. "Hey (y/n)! Check out my sword!"

She tilted her head, confused at his statement. "Umm Link, that's not a sword."

"I know it is, but when I get bigger I want to protect the people of the village. I can't herd cattle all my life, even if I do love animals."

"I see where this is going, you want freedom, just like me."

The boy's eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean?"

"It's because I got my own house now, isn't it? I'm not living with the mayor anymore."

"I know that." His voice cutting off short from anger.

The girl looked at him, perplex at this surprise attitude coming from him. "Why are you acting like a snot?"

"I'm not! Now leave me alone!"

"Hmm! If that's the why you want it then fine!"

The girl turned on her heels and started walking back to the village. The boy sighed as he dropped his sword and ran a hand down his face.

"I just don't want you to separate from me, (y/n)... I don't like it your living on your own... it makes me feel like... we're growing up too fast for are connection to grow... more than what I want... if you can't see that... then the bond is lost..."

(y/n) P.O.V

I snapped back from my senses from the dream I had. It was from the past, but I don't remember Link saying anything about the last part.

I barley dodged in time when Dark Me slashed at my face. The water that splashed around me made me shiver as I gripped my sword as we collided swords together.

Dark Me had gray clothes and not the white stuff I had on. Her eyes glowed a bright ruby color, making feel as if she was starting in my soul.

"Aww is the goddess lost?" The dark figure's voice was as if she was talking under water, half clear to hear and half wavy. "Everything she wants is out of her reach~"

"What the hell do you mean?"

"So lost in the head, but her heart is screaming for the guy she wants, but can never have."

My heart strangely throbbed at her saying. It caught me off guard as she pushed me back and slashed at my shoulder. My bit my lip from crying out as I when to attack, but the dark figure simply laughed and jumped away.

"Stupid goddess! Thinks she can hit me~ that's really cute~"

"Grr shut up!"

I managed to cut as her knees quickly enough before her growing self could cut off my neck.

"For a weak brat you're pretty good, but not good enough to change your fate~"

"W-what?"

"Curious? Let me show you~"

A wave of darkness took over me as I was falling deep side an endless hole. Images flashed through my mind, ones I didn't want to see.

Link, his face covered in tears and blood, stabbing me through the chest. I felt something escaping my lips as I touched it and saw blood. My chest felt like exploding, blood pounding in my ears.

I cried out and slashed at everything around me. The darkness was disappearing as Dark Me was smirking. "How was it?"

"Y-You... I'll kill you."

"Not before the hero kills you first~"

"THAT'S A LIE!" I shouted as everything around me became blue.

Blue glowing chains were wrapped around Dark Me as she struggled to be set free. "H-hey! Let me out of this!"

"Why should I? I got everything I need right here."

Dark Me was screaming at each step I took, closer and closer as I grabbed my sword and rested it at her neck.

Her chest rose up and down quickly as blood trickled down and leaving a red line. "If you hurt me you'll get hurt as well!"

"Lier, I just not too long ago you cut me and it didn't affect you."

Dark Me shut her mouth, her body trembling with fear. I go to slice her throat, until a dark chain holds my hand in place. Dark Me disappeared and reappeared next to a tall dark figure. Everything was dark about them, except for their bright red hair.

They laughed so dark I could feel the crul evil just from that one laugh. "I see your becoming stronger, along with surviving my curse."

"What do you-"

I stopped as I remembered, I can't enter twilight anymore without getting my soul drained. I grit my teeth at him. "You bastard! So it was you!"

"It's still a good thing your reincarnated self doesn't remember me, or we would have problems."

A shiver ran down my spine when he said that. I was confused and scared at the same time, I just couldn't understand why.

He laughed again while playing with the chain around Dark Me. "You're soul does remember me, but your conscience doesn't. It's a shame, really. I was looking forward to having a chat with you and all those times you locked me away for a very long time."

"... What do you want?"

"I want nothing, but I do need something. I'll help change the fate you just saw."

"That was a lie! Link would never do that to me!"

He roared with laughter, so loud the endless walls and sea of water shook. "What a naive person you've become, doubting you're own fate you put on yourself."

"That doesn't make any sense. None of this doesn't make sense!"

"Good, because as long as you don't awaken my job becomes easier for me. I guess this darkness didn't do you the trick."

Dark Me cried out in pain as he squished her in one hand. She disappeared like the monsters of Twilight did, into small shape of boxes.

"We shall meet again, Goddess of Time."

Suddenly everything even the water drained around me as I fell into an endless pit...

~~~~~~
Soft light filled in my eyes as I woke up to seeing Link next to me, holding me while telling me to wake up. His eyes softened as he let out a sigh of past worry. "Okay good you're awake."
"How long was I passed out?"
"Not long, but you didn't look like you were breathing and it scared me."
"LINK!"
A voice called out as Link let me stand on my feet again. I almost passed out from being light headed, but pulled through as Colin came up to us.
"llia!" He tripped while running as Link caught him in time, "You've got to save llia!"
"Slow down and tell me slowly." Link hushed him up as his blue eyes gave Colin a calming feeling.
"Those monsters left me with the other kids, but they must have taken her somewhere else!"
"I see, we'll get her back."
Colin nodded and stood up, puffing his chest out to make himself look like Link a little. "Do you remember what I told you back in Ordon, Link? So you don't have to worry about me anymore! Go help llia!"
"Leave the child to me. I will watch over them, I swear it." Renado said as he came up to Link and I.
"Thank you. Now let's go."
We waved off to the children and took off into Hyrule field. We were making are way towards the bridge we saved Colin on, but I couldn't remember it well since we were running around and not paying attention to the map.
I yawned as it was dark already and the light of twilight coming from Hyrule castle was beautiful. Too bad the barrier of the twilight was bad, it was something really pretty at night, like the lost glow when the clouds cover the moon and twilight is there to help you.
Link noticed my yawn and slowed us down a bit. "Are you getting sleepy? We can camp out here for the night."
"Ummm I don't think that's a good idea."
"Good point, just try to keep awake while we go through this."
I nodded. "I understand, but can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, go on."
"W-Would you kill me?"
Link stopped Epona from shock. "(y/n) why would you ever think that?! Of course I wouldn't kill you!"
"I-I just had a bad dream with that happening!" 'I hope to the goddesses it was a bad dream.'
Link sighed and let Epona continue onward towards the bridge. "Would it help if I stayed by your side while sleeping? The night before?"
A huge blush was coming onto my cheeks but I thank the darkness around me for covering it up. "S-Sure! I do get cold at night..."
"Then it's a deal. Alright were here."
It was the same bridge from before, luckily it wasn't ruined from the battle not that long ago. "You ready Epona? Let's dash across the bridge as fast as we can!"
Epona wined and galloped as fast as her legs would take her. The wind bit at my face as I covered my face well enough while we ride towards the twilight place. Link took out his arrows with the bombs over them and shot at the rocks and they exploded.
I gasped when the same twilight portal appeared in the sky and dropped down around us. I took out my arrows and shot at one as Link took care of the other two in wolf form. Dizziness took over me for a moment as I gasped and gripped the ends of the saddle.
'This is a nightmare... am I going to be having these dizzy spells often?!'
"Come on (y/n)! Were almost their!"
I nodded and let Link take Epona with me on her towards the twilight. I sensed a lake behind it and more monsters behind it, making me slightly dizzy again. Epona was wining at the twilight and kept backing up from it.
I smiled and pat her head. "It's okay Epona, you don't have to go in there."
Link helped me off Epona as Epona galloped away. I turned to face Link as he gave me a worried look. "Are you sure about this? Last time you almost died."
"I'm sure of it. Just let us through already."
"Ugh, so demanding. If you die in there it's not my fault." Midna complained as she came out from Link's shadow and entered through the twilight.
The same huge hand came and took Link into the twilight. I was about to jump in, until a soft light glowed around my bow. It enveloped me in its warm light.
'Take thee light and entered thou twilight, you will be save from the darkness of the other world...'
I felt like I knew that voice, but I didn't have time thinking where it was from as I jumped into the twilight as I all I saw was the warm light leading me through the endless blanket of darkness.
