3. Unexpected

She couldn't keep her focus on book story line anymore. With loud sigh, she picked herself up and started making her way home. She didn't try to go back to Ery's company as she was afraid of her reaction and she wasn't ready to take the risk.

She went out from Park and continued to busy Upper East side. She loved Manhattan. Especially it's many possibilities of entertainment. Her favorite huge city library and then Broadway. Who wouldn't like to live in this place? She was few times in other places in US, but she never travelled on other continents. It was her plan to travel the world once, with Ery. She found herself smiling, as she remembers her dear friend. But the smile didn't last long.

In crowd of people in front of her she spotted Rhees, walking obediently right next to his tall master. She cursed quietly. Before she could run in shop and simply vanish, this boy just turn on his heel, like he was anticipating, that Stella will be right behind him. His gaze stopped right on her. She saw how his lips constricted in to the strick line and his eyes were trying to burn the hole through her. Isn't she lucky girl to see him twice during one day? She had to try hard not to roll eyes on him and give him a clue, what she thinks about all this. She was aware of the fact he apparently thinks she follows him. Her jaw clenched as she was passing by him, without any explanation or even look, she ignored him. It was just few meters away from her house. But even with the big amount of people around her, she clearly sensed his presence behind her. She got to move faster. He did as well. If she started to run, he would probably do the same. She was sure what was he up to. He caught her right in between their houses.

"So now you even stalking me?" he said quietly, his voice in tense. Almost like he was asking against his will. When he denounced her out loud, ther was no other choice then stop and all furious face him.

"Just because of you I'm not gonna sneak home by the back door, just no to hurt your sensibility," she snapped out on him. She was loosing her temper as she wanted to explain to him, how to talk with people he just met. Rude weirdo.

"I hate when someone is bothering me with no, particular reason." he gave her matter of his fears. It didn't really calm her down. She was pissed off. She felt like she is overreacting, but she couldnt help herself. She stepped closer to him.

"Let me tell you... " she didn't get to say anything else. She had long lecture got ready for him. But at the same moment she poked him by her forefinger in his chest, she felt like the storm went over her. When she touched him, the need she sensed before, came back. She groaned and picked her eyes up. It was for fist the time she could caught him amazed.

But at this she wasn't bothered in a slightest and with blissful sight she delved into offered energy. It was completely different from the one in park. She took deep breath in and enjoyed the warmth, which was flooding her whole body at the moment. She wasn't thinking at all, this luxury was denied to her, when her need took over. She caught herself placing hands on his chest. She was sensing shiver of his inner strength. Perhaps if it wasn't happening so unexpectedly, she would have the hope to control herself. He jerked away. She heard dog barking somewhere from distance.

How fast all this happend, it all stopped. Someone gripped her by the elbow and pulled her back away from black haired guy. It brought her out of her focus. She was now watching the poor guy, who was under her freaking spell just minute ago, falling down on the ground. It was hard for her to even sharpen her view and calm her exacerbatied senses.

She gasped. Suddenly some man was standing above unconscious boy. And Stella was doused by gratefull wave and she didn't even know why exactly.

„Ellë, come in," she heard desperate whisper. Her head automatically turned to meet her Aunts Amelia's, chaly white face. She took her gently by hand and began to pull her away from the temptation. Stella looked over her shoulder to see the savior once again. Right after the door of their house closed, she started to panic.

„Oh my god... What have I done? What?..." Stella couldn't breath, everything inside her was shrinking with anxiaty.

„Try to calm down, doll. Everything is going to be just fine," Stella found out in horor that Amelia didn't mention anything about what she just witnessed outside. Did it actually happen? Before she could think it thourgh, her aunt pushed her to dining table and forced her to sit down, with hot cocoa in her hands. Even after Amelia's assurance, that everything is gonna be okay, she felt like she was expiriencing her nightmare. She was replaying in head what happend and she coudn't wind logical explanation. And mainly She coudn't get rid of the image, where that guy just fell to the ground. That scared her. Is there any chance that she might have killed him? Damn it!

Stella's thought were cut off by the sound of closing front door. Her head lifted up. It was just Ery. Very confused at the moment. Then there was another sound of slamming door. Everyone looked the same way. And apparently her best friend magicaly understood the whole situation, because he was freaking smiling. And Amelia was doing the exact thing with her face.

Stella wasn't following at all. And she was completaly froyen when both her closest people just bowed to that savior man from outside. Where the hell are we? At the royal court?

She kept just sitting there and starring on the unknown person. It looked like he was paying attantion to her as well. He was inspecting her and wholly ignoring the other two in the room. He looked smart. Wearing perfectly fitted blazer and pants, finished by moccasins. She noticed his shiny vest and expensive looking tie, with birght diamant in the center of it. This all what he was wearing was made of white expensie looking material. She realized with amazement that he didn't wear anything darker.

Well apart his dark brown hair, already weaved with silver. She slid with her eyes on his face. He looked nice, but she could very vividly imagine, how strick he probably can be, proof of that were crow's feet around his eyes and wrinkles on his forehead. He must frown very often. But the most interesting thing on his face were eyes, hid extremely blue eyes, reminding her of caribian sea.

This man wasn't young anymore, but either old. She was guessing he could be thirty five years. The silence in room was getting awkward now. Stella wasn't able to do anything else then just stare at the stranger. After that He ended up with examination of her person. She took a deep breath and the same need surprised her again. It seemed like if she doesn't give in to it, she will die.

„I know you can feel it," the man in white said quietly. His tuneful voice pulled her out of this strange urge she feels today. She heavily swallowed and placed mug with cocoa on the table, because her hands were way too shaky at the moment. Crap, what't wrong with her today?

„Did I hurt him?" She blurted out. She perfectly ignored his previous note. First question on her list was just about to find out, if she is somehow killer or not.

„Mister Beuchamp is doing fine and he doesn't remember anything," the man asured her with insipid tone of his voice. Thanks to his statement she at least found out the guy's name. Right after that she completely understood what he just said. He doesn't remember anything? She couldn't control her fright and widened eyes on him.

„And what exactly he does not remember then?"she asked shakily, wanting the answer on her next question. Another was, if he could just wipe out her memories away as well. Holy shit! Erasing memories? Did she just by any chance got into different dimension?

„I think you know exactly what," he replied quite evasively. And she didn't know anything right now.

„Who are you?" she snapped unpatiently.

„It's something you don't need to know right now," he said. It was a last drop for her. Anger came over her. He didn't give one proper answer and she was loosing it. She found Ery and Amelia looking at her and the stranger in amazment. What on earth is with these two? Is this the end of world or what?

„I guess you are not planning to tell me more, right? You just mysteriously appear here. You save Beuchamp from my claws and you don't even bother to explain why and then you are trying to feed me with cryptic words „he doesn't remeber". So cool!" she bursted out exactly as she expected. She jumped on her feets agrily. If the man showed a bit of disgruntlement, she would probably stormed right into her bedroom. But he just sagely smiled at her, like she just didn't yelled at him at all.

„You are so hot blooded and impulsive, exactly like you mother," when this came out of his mouth, he couldn't have her frozen better then this. She opened mouth in shock.

„What's this suppose to mean?" she squealed with caped voice, when she got over his words.

„That means, that I knew your mother. You are like her. Not just by the looks, even with your character features, but that's not all," he explained slowly. He knew her mom. Her heart was now racing. She was seriously tempted to ask him everything what she just had on her mind and don't let go of him, untill he answer every one of it.

„What's more of it?" she hold her breath, when she saw those sparkles in his eyes.

„You are unique girl. And you know that as well. And you could see that today. Probably few times in the past," he said. She just stared at him like he was insane, and even didn't tell her much.

„If you mean by this uniqueness, that thing I have done outside, let me prove you wrong! It was absolute monstrosity," she responded sarcastically and with sneer on her face she crossed arms on her chest, bravely facing his sight. Nothing on this situation was funny, but still She could see amusement in his eyes very clearly. Even those two traitors were smiling like an idiots, like She just confirmed how awesome she is.

„That thing you did outside, is something, you need to do," he informed her calmly, like they were talking about rutine matters. She couldn't control her never ending astonishment. She could also say, it was freaking tireing. She barely found out anything and it was already way too uncomfortable.

„Can you finaly explain it to me, damn it? That shocking stuff you keep dropping on me is rather gonna piss me off, big time. So spill the beans, old men!"

„Stella, calm down!" Amelia exclaimed indignantly. Stella then shut her mouth, but didn't stop scowling at the men.

„Maybe if I at least knew who the hell is he," Stella muttered anyway.

„I'm Archibald, Tha't my human name," he confessed eventualy. He obviously thought that is more then enought, what he could tell he about himself.

„Okay. Well now I know your fisrt name. And the fact that you think of youself as not human for some incomprehensible reason. Regardle of another fact, that I didn't get the whole „bow to the stranger" scene. Should I do that as well or did I broke some rule? Or whatever?" for some reason she kinda liked this little arguing session. She would probably enjoyed it more if there wasn't this urge to find out as much as possible. It was driving her crazy, the way this Archibald guy was giving his precious infromation away.

„Looks like you are very nagging young girl," Archie shaked his head, when he called her that way. Stella was even surprised that he didn't dare to name her more peremtorily. Like obnoxious, rude, sassy as hell. Evyrything from that list fit her perfectly. She had to admit. She managed to be very annoying, when she felt like it, or the situation forced her to be like it, like for example this one.

„I am. So?" she pushed him.

„The thing you did outside was something your body will need from now on. It's not going to change, and its going to be even more urgent and consuming when the time goes by. One of the reasons I came. You have to learn how to control your hunger and I will help you with that," final she got proper answer, explaining that need she felt, but it left her even more confused. Very slowly she realized the little details.

„But why?" she exhaled. She should just doubt his statement, like every other normal person. But there was the catch. Holy hell! She is not human! The truth was written in man's face. That wasn't all, she just knew it!

„You are Akhasiera," he finaly said

„A what?" that was the only thing Stella could think of.

„Your mother was Akhasiera and your father is Akhas," despite of how short his response was, she found out more then she could imagine. Her father was really alive. Ther was doubt, one wish, that he is dead as well and that is why he didn't contact her. But the hope was very quickly crushed. The wave of disappoitment went over her. She tried to cover it up, focusing on presence.

„What is that exactly?" she queried. Her previous fierceness eased a bit. He noticed, but didn't say anything about it.

„It means that you are „ Elemental Goddess". You had to notice some kind of skills, apart of your need..." Stella raised her hand to stop him.

„Wait a minute. I want to know more about this need, you are keep talking about," she sight quite tiredly. She felt perfect physically, but her mind was preoccupied.

„You body is going though change. You are not going to be the same anymore. It wasn't important before, because you were harmless. It proceeds like pubescence. The need to draw live energy from people is never going to ease. You will have to do that, because you won't be able to gain it yourself from sleep or food. Your metabolism is going to differentiate. It's necessary, but if you learn how to manage it, you won't hurt any of your givers," he explained it all at last. His words didn't make her feel better at all. It did quite the opposite. She felt cornered, by herself. Oh god, what her damned parents did to her? They made her parasite, who sucks the energy from others, the worst thing was, she can't live without it. She got to do that to all innocent and not knowing people. Quiet curse left her lips. She was glad that other in the room simply ignored it.

„Interesting. And now you can tell me something more about my divine origins," she forced herself to continue with questioning. She started to feel like she is going to either faint or freaking sprint outta here to her brand new bedroom.

„As both of your parents are Gods. Genetically you are as well. There can be half blooded Gods as well, where there is just one of the parents God. There is many kinds of Gods. You belong to elemental kind, as I already said. And those are the most powerfull," he stated. He raised his arm and then picked up from underneath his vest silver necklace with solid pedant on it. It wasn't ordinary necklace, she knew it. She saw the exact one on Ery. He began to wear one three years ago, when...

She gasped in shock and looked right on her best friend. He gave her apologizing smile and nodded. Her eyes dropped on that pedant. Archie noticed her curiosity and took it down, givinig it into her prepared hands. She could examine it closely now. It was actual pentagram. She frowned. She never asked Ery, it didn't seem to be important at the time. But isn't the pentagram evil symbol?

It was five pointed star, whose each sides were crossed through. The vertices were joined in circle, which were decorated by small diamants all over the circumference. It lookd very nice and she really liked it.

„Isn't it wrong symbol?" she asked hesitantly. She had to know if this mentioned deity, she belonged into, is good or bad.

„If the star was standing on one vertice, it's sign of dark magic," Archie tought her. She looked on the pentagram in her palm. The star was standing on two. She sighed in relieve. She stayed quiet for a while and then gave it back to him.

„So I am Goddess you saying?" she had to be sure. He nodded.

„And you are as well," she continued, studying him closely. She admited to herself that he more likely looked like an angel with missing wings.

„I'm The Highest," he confessed.

„What kind is that?"

„The elemental. As I said, it's the most powerful one," during her questioning he stayed unnaturaly calm.

„Ery?" she turned to face her friend.

„I'm Animal type," he familiarized her with his origins.

„And what is our purpose then?" she wanted to know.

„We are takig care of the earth and in returne we take the energy from humans," he proclaimed. Quid pro quo! Like she knew that this is the rule thanks to the world keeps spinning.

She started to have fairly enough. The whole room started to spin around that she had to grip the edge of the table so she didn't fall on the floor. She was thinking about just to give in to it, then she could wake up and find out, tha it was only crazy dream. Or nightmare more likely. She shaked her head and sighed, she didn't have any hope for that.

„And what now?" her head was full of new informatios and bunch of more detailed questions about this insenity, but she didn't feel very well and definitely not ready for more of this man's abnormal answers. She needed time. She needed to get into her room and think.

„For your own good and others in your surroundings, is necessary in this dangerous faze of your change, to stay out of sight. That's why you must leave today to a safer place, then I will teach you..." Stella didn't let him finish what he was saying. She was frowning at thim threateningly. Her legendary militancy came back to her at once. She didn't like the way he said any of that stuff to her. She hated people who were ordering her around. And even in cases were she knew, they are probably right.

„Alright calm your horsees! You cannot just pull me out of my life and tell me „ you are Goddes, parasitizing on other poor humans, you have to disappear". That is not how it works! No way!" she went to the battle with intention not to loose.

„Did you even listen to a single word I said? If you stay you be constat danger to other people and to yourself!" for the first time now she could see how does it look when she pisses him off.

„I can control myself," she asured him.

„I could see that today," he stated sarcasticaly.

„It caught me off guard. I happend for first time," it happend for second time, but that was a detail. She let it soothe her into the feel of false serenity, when she thought that thing in park was just moment of delusion. The reality had her unprepared, it didn't matter if she feel guilty thanks to her stupidity. It happend, and she cannot do anything about it.

„It is still your duty..." Archie's voice was getting precariously louder every minute. And Stella at the word „duty" forze. After that she felt another sting of rage.

„That must be some kind of joke right? If you think I will obediently bow my head and let you, complete stranger to me, to take me who knows where and force me to develop my abomination, you are so damn wrong. No!" she yelled at him all upset. They were staring at each other both very determinedly. She just met him and he already drove her crazy, despite it all she felt this gush of affection towards him. Weird. She knew this person for not even few hours. Who was actually a God.

„Stella, think about it. You should listen to His Deity," when her aunt spoke, it was the last drop for Stella. His Deity? Oh hell no! She snarled to herself and shot up to her bedroom.
