At a very young age, both Ash and her little sister Eriko walk in the Ashlands trying to survive. Ash was 10, looking after his 8 year old sister after they lost their parents. They've been out there for 5 years. Trying to hide from Aragami, trying to hide from the Ports, and trying their best to live. They have done unforgivable things like raiding others' supplies, stealing, even killing just so they survive. This however, will last forever.

"Damn, 5 years." said Ash. Both him and Eriko were hiding inside an abandoned building. "We can't continue like this. We might as well join a Port that could treat us well."

"But there are so many bad people. They take kids in and force them to be God Eaters." Eriko shooked in fear. "What if we're forced to be monsters?"

"We're not gonna be monsters. We're gonna live till the end." Ash looks outside to see if there's any Aragami. So far, there's two of them, but they were focused on eating a corpse. He turned his head back to his sister and shook his head.

Eriko covers her mouth as she leans on her brother's chest. Ever since they lost their home, Eriko has been scared. She doesn't know when an Aragami is going to jump up and eat her alive. And people who work to stop the Aragami treat people who are out there poorly.

Ash looked back up. "If we can quickly get out of here, we could avoid them."

"Can't we just wait... I don't want to take that risk."

Ash picks up a rock. "It's okay, I think I got a plan. I'll throw a rock to one direction to get their attention. Then, we'll make a break for it."

"O-okay." Eriko nodded her head.

Ash got up and looked around. On his right across the Aragami, there was a car. Without thinking, he threw the rock at it, causing the alarm to go off. As the Aragami heard it, they followed towards the car, as Ash grabbed his sister and ran out of the building.

*Later at Noon*

After managing to escape, both siblings continue to walk. All they have in them are a few protein bars and some water. They were running low on the things they have.

"Big Brother," Eriko started. "Are we gonna be okay?"

"To be honest... I don't know." said Ash. "Like I said before, we can't live like this... But I refuse for us to die here."

"... I'm hungry."

"I know. But we don't have anything else, and we're running low. That's why I decided for us to eat once and drink one sip 3 times a day. If we eat normally, we'll lose our supplies and die. I don't want that."

As they continue to walk, Ash stops. He put his right arm out to stop Eriko. In front of them were guards taking kids into a track. Eriko hid behind him.

"What do we do now...?" Eriko shook in fear. Her legs were wobbling. "I don't want to go... Not like this."

"... I got an idea." Ash turned around and put his hands on his sister's shoulder. "We're gonna play hide and seek.

"But... We can't play now."

"Yes we can... Listen closely, you'll hide and I'll seek. I'm gonna turn around, close my eyes and count to ten. And when I turn around, you better make sure I don't see you. Run as fast as you can and hide. Don't let anyone see you."

"But... We're supposed to be together..."

"We will. But for now, do me a favor and hide." Eriko stayed silent. But she shook her head. Ash smiled. "Okay." he took his backpack off and put it around her. "Take this, I'm not gonna need it for a while." He then turns around and covers his eyes. "I'm gonna count to 10... 1... 2... 3... 4..."

"Hey, there's a kid!" said a guard.

"... 5... 6... 7..."

"Get him!" said another one.

"8... 9... 10..." Ash turns around and his sister is nowhere to be found. He smiled. "... We'll see each other again... Just keep running."

"You're not gonna get away you brat!" Ash turn and saw a guard lifting up his gun. Ash looked at him surprised before being hit. He fell on the ground unconscious. "Well... Looks like we have another." the guard smiled.

Eriko meanwhile ran as fast as she could, without looking back. She was now, on her own.

*4 Days Later*

After 4 days of being alone, all the supplies she once had were gone. No more protein bars and only one drop of water left. At this point she became desperate. She needs to find food and water or she's gonna die. So far there's nothing in any building she checks for any food or anymore medican. Moments later, she came out of the building she was checking.

"Come on, there has to be food and water." she said. "... I don't want to die... Not here... I want to see big brother again..."

"Check the area! There could be some kids!" Eriko heard a guard.

She ran back into the building. She hid behind some pillars and looked out. A guard came in, causing her to cover behind the pillar. They look around to see if there's any kids. A few minutes later, Eriko decided to talk a peep.

"They're gone." she whispered.

"GOTCHA!" a guard from behind grabbed her and held her up with both arms. Two other guards came in front of them.

"Let me go!" Eriko struggled. "Let me go you mean people!"

"Mph, this kid almost looks like the one we took 4 days ago." said the blonde guard.

"Big Brother?"

"Huh, so he's your brother? said the Guard without a cap. "What do you think we should do with her?"

"Maybe you can be useful for us." said the guard who was holding her. He then hit her behind, knocking her out.

*Later*

Eriko starts to slowly open her eyes. She noticed she was in a Port. She was sitting down with restraints on her. She tries to talk, but her mouth is covered by a cloth.

The moment she heard that, she panicked. She struggles, trying to get out, but it was no use.

Stage one. Inducing Ashlight corruption.

"Muh?" she wonders. All of a sudden, both her risks were corrupted. She grunt from the pain.

Ashblight corruption has been confirmed. Now progressing to stage two. Mounting God Arc.

A God Arc was soon in front of her. She will need to grab onto it to continue.

"What's the matter PW-01438?" she looked up at the guard. Was PW-01438 a code name for her? "If you want to live, you have to take the God Arc.

Eriko looks at the handle of her God Arc, and slowly hastatage to grab it. The moment she grabs it, the right armlets close together, causing pain through her right arm.

"MMMMMMMMMMMHMMMMMMMMMMMHH! she squirms in pain. That's all she can do.

Progressing to stage three. Final stage. Implanting Adaptive Oracle Cells.

The other armlet closes too as she squirms even more. It was too much for her, yet she managed to hang on. She pants after that.

Status confirmed. Ashblight corruption has been neutralized. Subject's vitals have returned to normal. Aptitude... is positive. Congratulations. The process is complete. You are now an Adaptive God Eater.

The moment she heard what she has now become, she tear up.

"So you survived..." Eriko Looks up. "Grade A... Huh, so you're like that kid we found 4 days ago?" Ash is here too? "How does it feel to give up your humanity?"

He pulls the cloth out of her mouth. Eriko said nothing, and as the restraints were off, she fell to the ground. She cries on the floor, not bothering to get up.

"Hey, don't go and croak on us, okay? Your life belongs to the Port now. You're of no use dead." she looks up at the guard. "Here, I'm gonna need you to sign this contract."

Later in the Cell of the Port, Ash looked at the window, where only a little bit of sunlight was showing. The armlets on his risk were cuffed together.

"Hey, worry about your sister." he turns around to see a boy who was at his age.

"Yeah, I probably should've left her." Ash answered. "Eriko is just a little girl who is scared. I don't know what is happening with her..."

"Hey, wherever she is, I'm sure she's fine."

"I hope you're right Hugo... I just hope she wasn't captured by them yet."

"Hey, if we do find her, let's show her to Zeke, Keith, Neal, and the others. I'm sure we'll all be good friends."

"This is where you'll be staying for now on." said the guard as he opened the cell.

"Looks like we got one more to show." Hugo smiles. "Our friendship just keeps rolling."

Ash turns around to see who it is. His face was then changed into horror. The person he noticed that came in was his little sister. As she walks in, the guard kicks her in and closes the cell.

"... Oh my god... No!" Ash ran up to her and got onto the floor as she helped his sister on her knees. "Eriko! Eriko look at me!" he yells. "What happened!? Why are you here!? Did you run at least!?"

Eriko looked up at him. "Big Brother?"

He notices the armlets on her risks. "Did they..."

His sister starts to tear up. "... They turn me into a monster... I'm scared."

He put his arms around her. "It's okay. It's okay... It's over now. We still have each other."

Eriko leans on to his chest and cries. "I-... I'm scared..."

"You must be his little sister." Eriko looks up to see Hugo. "Don't look so worried. We're not gonna die, I promise you that."

"... Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yeah. My name's Hugo. I met your brother on the same day we became God Eaters."

"Eriko..."

"That's a nice name." Hugo knees down. "Don't worry. We're gonna survive this. Together..."
