Water town
Nightfalls upon the western frontier as the Adventurers have their meal. The group were chatting about the general consensus then Goblin Slayer and Firebreak finds the group and informs them of the next quest. Afterwards they have a discussion.
Elf: Let me get this clear, You two are going to Water town.
Firebreak/Slayer: Correct.
Elf: And you informed us of this next Adventure, right?
Firebreak/Slayer: Your point is?
Elf: It's just that, whenever we come out to do adventuring, it's mostly all about Goblins.
Priestess: And I think your a bit morbid.
Firebreak: Kid you haven't seen what I felt during my times of war. Also we asked if you would come.
Elf: if that's the case. I'm coming with you two. However, there will be no fire...
Priestess: Or Water torture...
Elf: and no Poison.
Firebreak/Slayer: No poison?
Priestess/Elf: Promise us alright!
Slayer: Fine.
Firebreak: I can't promise much on the fire though.
Elf: For that, I'll let you slide for a bit on the fire.
Lizardman: If that's the case, then I shall assist you in this quest. Shaman?
Dwarf: Eh well, with the travel expenses being fine, I guess I'll go with you.
Priestess: that's wonderful. Three spell casters is better for this party.
Firebreak: Is it?
Priestess: Yes, of course it is!
Firebreak: What time shall we leave?
Slayer: Now would be the time.
Dwarf: But first we needed the have a feast before we leave.
Firebreak/Slayer: Affirmative/Yeah.
The 2 sat down and eat dinner. The Priestess has some thoughts about Firebreak and Slayer, "Hehe, these two have a long way before they have their thing. I'll ask when the time has come", looks at Slayer, "She seems okay and calm to say the least. She listens to us, even though it can't be said for Firebreak", looks at Firebreak, "However, I still see him having a heart of gold, despite his cruel backstory and corrupted personality. He and Slayer-san could go well altogether quite nicely."
Timeskip.....
The group ride the cart towards Water town - A bustling city filled with all sorts of wonders, thanks to their own being a trading port for ships that import the goods to the town. They did have a nap before reaching the town during the journey. They arrived then stroll through the city, talking about it's quirks and eventually manage to reach their destination - The Temple of Law. The Priestess felt breathless from the gigantic structure that is infront of her. Firebreak commented, "Reminds me of the time I have to burn corpse inside. The Building is very pretty I must say, like the temples in my world." The Priestess ask about the client and Slayer answered, "The Archbishop of the Supreme God." She immediately feel anxious as the Archbishop is the Sword-maiden: A legendary warrior that defeated the demon lord 10 years ago, currently a gold-ranked adventurer.
They all walked towards a woman, who has her back turn towards them. She then turns around and greeted the Adventurers.
Woman: Hello? Oh my, hello there.
Firebreak: Pardon me, are you the one known as the "Sword-maiden"?
Sword-maiden: Yes.
Slayer: Where are the Goblins.
Priestess: *shocked* Ah please, sorry about her.
Sword-maiden: *chuckles* Well what do we have here: a Young Priestess, a Noble Warrior and a Valorous Soldier. What an honor to meet you all.
Lizardman: If I may, we here are to accompany these three in the quest you have sent to us.
Slayer: Tell us, where are the goblins?
Everyone sat down and have a conversation about the situation at hand:
Sword-maiden: It happened about a month ago. A woman was found dead on the streets with her being cut up, alive.
Slayer: Did the Goblins take anything of value?
Elf: *puts hand on Slayer's shoulder then shakes her head*
Slayer: *looks at Elf then at Sword-maiden* Continue.
Sword-maiden: After that, multiple incidents have occured since that day. I've sent adventurers there and one day they found the culprit. Size of a child, with green skin are the only features of a goblin. And indeed it was.
Priestess: Goblins? Here? How can this be?
Elf: Wouldn't the goblins be attacked if they try the entrance.
Dwarf: The Goblins are likely from under the city in the sewer system
Lizardman: Add to the fact that this very town was built over some old ruins, likely spot for the Goblins to hide.
Sword-maiden: O I beg of you, please help save this town from these Goblins.
Firebreak: Do you have map of sewer system.
Sword-maiden: I do
She then presented the map of the old sewer system.
Lizardman: If I may say, wouldn't this place have a military to mobilize against these Goblins.
Sword-maiden: Well...
Slayer: Because the military didn't seem to see the Goblins as a threat and place them as pest.
Sword-maiden: That's true.
Firebreak: Then you send adventurers down there and non came back alive, yes.
Sword-maiden: I'm afraid so.
Slayer: Where is the entrance to the sewers?
Sword-maiden: At the back of this temple
Slayer: Don't worry, this town may not be saved, but I will slay these Goblins.
Priestess: Slayer-san, can't you be a bit more tactful?!
Slayer: It's the truth.
Firebreak: If there is Goblins down there, time to get dirty.
Everyone stood up and the adventurers walked out, but the Maiden called out the youngest one.
Sword-maiden: Priestess
Priestess: Yes, Archbishop.
Sword-maiden: How confident are you for your group to succeed?
Priestess: I may not know the answer, but I do know that when we have each other's backs, we'll be sure to succeed.
. . . . . . . . .
Under the town and into the sewers, the group dispatch the 5th wave of goblins. They then venture deeper into the sewers till they are met on a bridge. They hear chatter and saw a light as it gets closer. That's when said chatter became more distinct - it's goblins - and they're on a boat.
The Priestess summons <PROTECTION> moments before the Goblin's arrows almost hit them. Slayer throws a sword at a Goblin. Firebreak and Elf began firing upon the Goblins. Slayer then asked about the amount of spells that they currently have.
Lizardman: I only have 2
Priestess: I have 2 more.
Slayer: Dwarf?
Dwarf: Loads of them.
Thinking quickly, she tells the Dwarf to make a tunnel. He refused, Because he thought she meant up, which would mean collapsing the whole town above them. She then tells him, "Not up, Down. The ship would then be sucked into the whirlpool." Dwarf argues this, saying, "But that would mean collapsing the sewer system all together". Firebreak tells the group, "We're running out of time, we have to act fast!" Slayer then think if a next plan. She grabbed a small can then tells the Priestess: "When the shield goes down, I throw this, then cast <PROTECTION> after." Priestess nods at this and readied herself, as the Shield goes down. Lizardman is given a moment to summon two Sickles and giving one to Slayer, advising her against throwing it. Slayer tells Dwarf to ready his <STONE BLAST> and target the ship.
The shield went down and Slayer threw the glass. It burst into red powder that stings the goblins' eyes (I'm guessing that's Chilli powder) temporarily blinding them. Slayer, Firebreak and Lizardman jumped down and attacked the Goblins head-on. Slayer slices two, Lizardman killed 10 and Firebreak shot 10. Slayer advised them to fling the goblins off the ship, as they have armor. While the fight from he ship has been going on, a Goblin shot an arrow at Elf, but luckily <PROTECTION> is casted before it even hit her. The ship went under the bridge as a large stone is made on the otherside.
Dwarf: Firebreak, Beard-cutter, Scaly! Jump!
They jump off the ship as the Dwarf slams the giant rock on the ship, destroying it in the process.
The others regroup as they contemplate of the things that happened just a moment ago:
Firebreak: I thought Goblins can't make things.
Slayer: Yeah.
Elf: How did they manage to get a boat?
Priestess: Likely someone made it and they follow.
Lizardman: What ever the case may be, we should head back to the surface to think about it, rather than staying here.
Dwarf: *Looks to the waves* Look!
Everyone turned their heads to where the Dwarf was pointing. It here that a dead Goblin is flung out of the waves before being consumed by a large reptile. The group flee and as the they run, the Reptile followed them.
Firebreak: *holding Priestess* I got you kid!
Slayer: Steady your breathing. We need you for later!
Priestess: Okay *tries to steady her breathing, while Firebreak is carrying her*
Dwarf (While being carried by Lizardman): Well this is a predicament, What now!
Elf: I say we feed the Dwarf to the creature, that will sure give it food poisoning.
Dwarf: You watch it, Long-ears! Hey Scaly, can't you talk to the creature!
Lizardman: I haven't had any communications with my Family, since I left home! And you'll be sure to know that the creature isn't my ancestor either.
Elf: *spots ahead* Wait, look!
Slayer: I see it!
Firebreak: What are you suggesting?
At the other end, a goblin ship sails its way towards the light emitting at the end of the tunnel. The goblins laugh in glee as though they knew there are more Adventurers below the surface to plunder. The goblin ship master orders the ship to sail forward. As they sail closer, the light got brighter and brighter. That's until a huge figure lunges out of the water and attack the Goblins.
On a ledge the group watches as the Alligator consumes and mutilated the Goblins with the light emitting from the tail by <HOLY LIGHT>.
Elf: Oh, so you use <HOLY LIGHT> on the alligator and the Goblins just follow where it is.
Slayer: Whatever the case may be, it is common knowledge among Goblins that they associate light with Adventurers.
Firebreak: heh, if they saw me torching them, they would stay away from me and get confused by which assumption to go by.
Slayer: I see.
Dwarf: Let's head back to the surface alright. I'm exhausted by all this Goblin fighting.
Priestess: Couldn't agree more.
Lizardman: Yes, we should.
