chapter 5

"Ah! You're back!" The Guild Girl stated to the duo upon seeing their return. The white haired male was wearing his black shirt, and had his weapons fastened, while holding onto his now fixed Naginata.

"Yeah. I guess so," Magic Girl replied, holding her two staffs softly. She wore the same white frilly dress, but she also wore hard leather over it, as the white haired male suggested her to.

"So, anything happened while I was out?" The white haired male asked the Guild Girl.

"Well, not much. Goblin Slayer-"

"Goblin Slayer? Who is Goblin Slayer?" The male asked, tilting his head in curiosity.

"He is who he is. A goblin slayer," Magic Girl simply replied to the male.

"Wow, that is. . . Uh. . . Helpful, at the very least," the white haired female replied, trying his best to give out a non-offensive comment.

"So, any new quests?" Magic Girl asked.

"Well, mostly goblins though. . ." Guild Girl replied, as her body tilted slightly to the side.

"We'll take them then," Magic Girl replied quickly, and the white haired male glanced at the girl in disbelief.

"All of them?" The male asked.

"Are you sure?" The Guild Girl asked, worry apparent in her voice.

"Why don't we just take one at a time?" The white hair suggested, but it felt like the male's pleas fell onto deaf ears.

"Yes, I am sure," she said, her voice sounding a not so subtle anger, something even the white haired noticed.

"Hey, I know you're pissed about what the goblins did to your friend, but-"

"You just shut up," Magic Girl replied, which made the male shut up.

For at least 2 seconds.

"Then you go by yourself. I won't help you," the male told the girl, before going to the tavern area, and watched as Magic Girl clutched her staves, before stomping out of the guild. Seeing this, the male sat on a vacant table, letting his Naginata lean against his shoulder, before out of nowhere, a group of five people appeared and sat beside and in front of the male.

"Excuse us, please," an older voice said out at his left. He looked at his left and saw a short and stout old man. However, he had heard from other people that there was a 'dwarf' in the guild. He had presumed that he must be it.

"It's fine," the white haired replied, before his focus came to the other people. One was a lizard, or rather, an anthropomorphic dragon. It wore clothes that seemed like a monk. Another one had light green hair, a bow and a quiver of arrows at her waist. Another had long blonde hair and clothes that seemed like what a priest would wear. Finally, he saw a person, fully clad in armour from head to toe, making the person virtually unknown.

"I saw your argument with the girl. Why aren't you following her?" The dragon monk asked.

"She is blinded by revenge, and I am unable to stop her, nor would I want to stop her," the white haired male replied plainly.

"But are you willing to let her go all by herself?" The elf asked.

"She is not of my responsibility," the male replied soon after.

"She is your party member," the dwarf stated.

"But of what use will it be if I were to follow her?"

"Do you not care for the girl?" The man in armour suddenly said out.

"As I have stated, she is not of my responsibility."

"But do you care for her?"

". . . ."

This question led the white haired male to think about it. He considered the times she took care of the unconscious male, and soon enough, felt truly guilty for leaving her.

"Thank you for asking that question," the male replied, standing up, grabbing his Naginata, and walked towards Guild Girl.

"Those three requests she took," he suddenly said out to the busy Guild Girl.

"Ah, w-what?" The girl asked, looking up from her piles of paper.

"Those three goblin quests that you gave out a minute ago," the white haired male stated.

"What about them?" Guild Girl asked.

"Where is the nearest place out of the three quests?"

"Ah. . . It should be the village to the west, but it would take you a day to reach."

"Thank you for the information. How much would that be?"

"Ah. Y-you don't have to pay me for that," the Guild Girl replied, sweat dropping and having a nervous smile.

"Oh. I see. Well, thank you still," the white male stated, before walking away to the door, before facing the 5 member party, sitting at the table who conversed with him a minute ago.

"Thank you, all five of you. I will not forget what you have done to me," the male stated, bowing to the five member party, before walking out of the guild.

"That man, he seemed unusual, don't you think?" The green haired elf asked the priestess.

"I think so too. He had unusual eyes, and weapons that seemed unconventional to the eyes of many," the priestess replied.

"Hah! No wonder he had created himself a reputation in this guild. And all that came from this group of adventurers who had claimed that he had slain a cave's worth of goblins. He did not even know what a guild even was!" the dwarf said out happily, unknowingly attracted a number of other adventurers, who were curious on the story.

"Is that story true?" They asked.

"You have to ask those adventurers yourself," the dwarf replied.

Meanwhile

Magic Girl hopped onto a fast moving carriage that took her to the nearest village for her to fulfill her first quest. Throughout the journey, she was in deep thought, as silence was apparent throughout this fast journey. The driver claimed that they will reach the village by evening in this rate, which she was fine with, before paying the driver to bring her along. Although initially adamant, he accepted due to the pay given to him.

'That guy, after all the things I did for him,' Magic Girl thought, gripping her mage staff tightly, before suddenly thinking of the time that the white haired male saved her from being sexually assaulted by goblins. Although she had gotten used to being sexually assaulted ever since she was sold into prostitution, the touch of a goblin was more horrid and disgusting. If it was not for her saviour, friend and partner, she might have never experienced magic, holy miracles, and so much more about the world she was in. And yet, she was not here. Rather, her friend was at the temple, doing who knows what. She looked at herself, and her thoughts were focused solely on the white haired male. Her chest tightened, and her heart pounded just thinking about the male. Even though they knew each other for a day, it felt like they knew each other longer than they thought, almost as if they had met ever since they were a child.

"What. . . What is this feeling in my stomach?" She asked herself out loud accidentally, as she felt something in her stomach, as if multiple, small animals flew all over her stomach.

"Are you having a stomachache?" The driver asked.

"No. It feels like something is flying inside my stomach."

"Ah. You're in love then."

"W-what?!"

"Yeah, darlin'. You're in love. Who's the boy?"

"T-that's none of your business!!"
