The Madness
Alice dreams beyond the blaze
her mind is hazy, seen better days.
In mourning dreams she finds a way
to call the Cat to come and play.
The rabbit's dead, his head did burst
it wasn't the second time, or even the first.
She's trapped inside a runaway train
they all whisper, 'She's gone insane'.
The blade she hides under her dress
did carve those twins into a mess.
Inside his notebook the words still read
'Wonderland is all she needs.'
She mocks the real and calls for the pretend
till she is safe back in Wonderland.
The butterflies have all turned brass
there's no one inside that looking glass.
'I told you, Alice, we've all gone mad,
but it makes no difference in this land.
The Red Queen wants to off your head,
I wonder dear...are you better off dead?'
Inside her head the voices cry
'Why did you do this, Alice why?'
Only she knows just how it feels
to watch him writhe, to watch him squeal.
In his immaculate, perfect place
Alice wiped the smile off his face.
He said he'd heal her, he'd heal them all
but grunted on top of them after each fall.
And now the place no longer looks white
for Alice repaid him with his own wretched life.
A vorpal blade got stuck in his head
Alice left him very dead.
Now the doctor who took away her toy
can no longer hurt the girls or boys.
wrapped in white Alice now dreams
of not hers, but the doctor's screams.
*Note: I guess you can say 'Alice' fascinates me, especially 'Alice, the Madness'.
