Chapter 4

It had been two months since Y/N and Breckie started collaborating, and their partnership had become a phenomenon. What began as a simple behind-the-scenes project had spiraled into a series of wildly popular videos, live streams, and even a few viral moments.

And now, for the first time, Breckie had suggested they meet in person.

"You've been killing it, Y/N," she'd said during their last call. "But we've got to take this to the next level. I have a new project I want to brainstorm, and honestly, it'd be so much easier if we could just meet up."

Y/N had hesitated but eventually agreed. After all, she was right. Video calls could only do so much, and part of him was curious to see if her real-life energy matched the version of her he'd gotten to know through a screen.

She'd insisted on flying him out to Los Angeles, where she lived. "It's on me," she'd said. "You've already done so much. Let me handle this."

And now here he was, stepping off the plane at LAX, clutching his carry-on bag like it was a life raft.

---

The ride to Breckie's place was surreal. Los Angeles was a far cry from Y/N's quiet little city, and he couldn't stop marveling at the sprawling skyline and endless palm trees.

When the car pulled up in front of her apartment building—a sleek, modern high-rise in the heart of downtown—he felt a flicker of nervousness. He'd worked with big clients before, but this felt... different.

Breckie greeted him at the lobby, waving enthusiastically as he stepped through the glass doors. She was even more striking in person, her warm smile and bright eyes instantly putting him at ease.

"Y/N!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a quick hug. "It's so good to finally meet you!"

"Hey," he said, feeling a little awkward but smiling nonetheless. "It's good to meet you too. Thanks for, uh, flying me out here."

"Of course! You deserve it," she said, leading him toward the elevator. "Come on, I'll show you the place."

---

Her apartment was just as stylish as he'd imagined—clean lines, neutral tones, and a wall of windows that offered a breathtaking view of the city.

"Make yourself at home," Breckie said, gesturing to the couch. "You hungry? Thirsty? I stocked up on snacks and drinks, so take your pick."

"I'm good for now," Y/N said, setting his bag down and taking in the space. "This is... incredible. Way nicer than my place."

She laughed. "Hey, you've seen the magic of editing. Half of this is just good staging."

They spent the next hour catching up, their conversation flowing effortlessly. Y/N found that Breckie was even more charismatic in person, her quick wit and genuine warmth making him feel surprisingly comfortable.

Eventually, she brought up the new project.

"So, here's what I'm thinking," she began, pulling out a notebook. "It's a little more ambitious than what we've done so far, but I think it could be huge."

The project, as she described it, was a documentary-style series diving into the world of content creation—its highs, its lows, and everything in between. She wanted it to be raw, authentic, and completely different from her usual work.

"And I want you to co-produce it with me," she said, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Not just edit—actually help shape the story."

Y/N stared at her, taken aback. "You... want me to co-produce?"

"Of course," she said. "You have a great eye for storytelling, and I trust your instincts. Plus, people love you. This could be a chance to really show the world what you can do."

He hesitated, the weight of her words sinking in. It was a huge opportunity—one that could open doors he hadn't even considered. But it was also a lot of responsibility.

"I don't know," he said finally. "What if I'm not ready for something like this?"

Breckie reached across the table, resting a hand on his arm. "You are ready. Trust me, Y/N. You've already proven that. And I'll be right there with you every step of the way."

Her confidence in him was both reassuring and terrifying. But as he looked at her, he realized he didn't want to let fear hold him back. Not this time.

"Okay," he said, nodding slowly. "Let's do it."

Her face lit up. "Yes! This is going to be amazing."

---

They spent the rest of the day brainstorming, bouncing ideas off each other and sketching out the framework for the series. By the time they wrapped up, it was well past midnight, but neither of them seemed to mind.

As Y/N settled into the guest room she'd prepared for him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. For the first time in a long time, he wasn't just editing someone else's vision—he was helping create something entirely new.

And as he drifted off to sleep, he realized that meeting Breckie in person had already changed the trajectory of his life in ways he couldn't have imagined.
