I - Undead in Different World

The boy grinned, swinging his legs while sitting on his bed. His spiky silver hair was tainted with blood and dirt, but he seemed to pay no mind. He kept singing his dark song, not paying attention to the metal walls around him.

"...-one-hundred-and-sixty-five, one-hundred-and-sixty-eight, you don't have to be afraid! One-hundred-and-seventy-one, one-hundred-and-seventy-..."

"SHUT UP, KAERU!!" The man outside yelled in anger, as he kicked the metal door in front of him, while the resonance of the sound made some other patients groaned in pain.

From inside, giggles were heard. "Calm down, Sir! Ha! You shocked me, again! I lost my count! Well, I'll start over later." The boy said, looking through the small 'window' on the door, which is actually just a rectangle hole with metal bars, merely for ventilation and for the guards to check on the patients inside each cells. Kaeru's fingers reached out of the metal bars, the bandages around them were torn and bloodied.

"Hehe... Where should I cut you?" He asked, as he cracked one of his fingers, "Neck, chest, stomach? Gut, eye, or shoulder?"

"You will not cut anyone!"

The boy laughed. "I'll just start counting again, then! One, four, seven, we're not yet even! Ten, thirteen, sixteen, you should have got bitten! Nineteen, twenty-two, twenty-five, I'll take all your lives! Twenty-eight, thirty-one, thirty-four, your blood tastes so sour! Thirty-seven, forty, forty-three, I'll kill you for free! Forty-six, forty-nine, fifty-two, cut the ears, too~... Fifty-five, fifty-..." He stopped singing when electricity current ran through the cuffs around his ankles.

"WAHH!! It tickles! What was that?!"

The man shook his head disapprovingly.

'No wonder the silverette brat was locked in this asylum.'

"Ha! Gotcha, F*cker!" The boy yelled in achievement, as he grabbed the man's lower face with one hand, covering his mouth. He struggled, but Kaeru grinned wider, pulling out a shred of broken glass, dragging it harshly through the man's throat.

Blood spilled on the floor, as Kaeru starts cackling crazily.

"ONE MORE DEAD! CONGRATS FOR ME! I GOT ONE MORE POINT!"

Alarms start ringing, as the insane laughter grew louder.

Kaeru may be mentally ill, but it's not entirely his fault. He was just raised in the wrong time, at the wrong place, by bad people, in very unacceptable way.

Obito sighed. He hates seeing the boy suffered. Flashbacks ran through his mind again. How his body was crushed by the boulder, how his teammates cried for him.

And how he saved his own life by teleporting into other dimension, bringing one other people with him as the toll.

Yes, that one person is Kaeru.

He couldn't help it. Kaeru was the first person who ran in Obito's mind. His best friend. The boy was just 9 years old.

Being teleported into 'Earth', right in the main building of a government's organization, Obito and Kaeru had different fates. After many interrogations, they both were finally recruited as two of the agents.

Obito kept getting promoted higher and higher, more because the Uchiha intelligence that ran through his veins. Kaeru was trained by the best soldiers there, and became one of the best fighter in the organization. Until later he was captured by drug dealers, and forced to consume a huge portion of the deathly chemicals.

When the other agents finally rescued him, he was already addicted. Too addicted. The leader was in rage, punishing Kaeru in such brutal way before locking him up after realizing that Kaeru cannot be cured from his addiction.

Kaeru slowly went insane. Killing his boss, then some guards and his partners, he was sent to an asylum. Obito can only watch as the boy lost his sanity in the one-and-a-half year he spent in his cell.

And after he killed another guard yesterday (the fourth one in the week), the government had sentenced him to die.

Obito could do nothing. Guilty is an understatement. Although, there's a possibility that Kaeru might return to their original world, there's no guarantee on that.

He could only watch as the armoured guards dragged the boy out of his cell. He was drenched in sweat, but his eyes glinted in insanity.

"Hurry up~... I can't wait!" The 13-years-old boy cheered.

"Ready." One of them commanded.

Kaeru, that was standing with his hands tied together, smirked, as the soldiers in front of him lifted their riffles. It was a sinister smirk, and there's a glint of amusement in his eyes.

He laughed. "ARE YOU SURE YOU CAN KILL ME? CAN YOU REALLY TAME THE DEMON YOU RAISED?!" Kaeru screamed, snickering at who-knows-what.

"Aim."

"I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY! YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO-..."

"FIRE!!"

The triggers were pulled together in unison.

The boy's body fell to the ground.

Obito snapped his head away, gritting his teeth, as a tear fell from his eye.

Kaeru

I slowly opened my eyes, to meet a very different environment.

Yeah, still metal walls and glowing blue cuffs, plus the-...

Wait. Glowing blue?

I snapped my attention back at my ankles below me. Yes. Glowing blue.

I was tied in a metal chair, and in front of me was a metal table with many weird tools on it.

Example? A black blade shaped like a thin diamond, with bandages around the hilt and a hole at the end of it. Then also a long, like, very very long needles.

I somehow find this funny. Before I knew it, I started laughing.

After what it feels like forever, hearing the resonances of my own laugh (and that's far from pleasant, mind you), I finally calmed down.

Then, realization hit me.

The soldiers killed me, right? Like, how can I survive after being hit by more than 20 sniper riffle's bullets that were aimed at my heart and shot at once in a perfect accuracy by professional soldiers from the government?!

This is illogical. Far from it.

I dropped my head. Damn, damn, damn... I'll die out of boredom. I'll just sing again.

"One, four, seven, BOOM! Ten, thirteen, sixteen, BOOM! Nineteen, twenty-two, twenty-five, BOOM! Twenty-eight, thirty-one, thirty-four, BOOM! Thirty-..."

"So you're awake." A deep voice interrupted me.

"Hey! I was singing! Don't cut me off! I lost my count again!" I protested, glaring at the man. He growled at me, causing me to snicker.

He was wearing a grey trench coat, and over his bald head, he wore a black bandana, plus a metal plate on the fabric. There's a symbol carved on it. It looks like a spiral with a triangle at the edge of it.

"Don't try to outsmart me. We found you passed out in our territory, with a strange device inside your skin."

What the heck?! The government planted a microchip inside me?! I don't even know that! And how the hell can they found it?!

"And with your strange clothes, you-..."

Of course, buddy. This is an asylum's uniform, for Obito's sake. Ha, I bet he cried like a baby over me. Anyways, continue with the bald man's rambling.

"You don't seem to hold any sign of being a shinobi, or any clue of which Hidden Village you came from. Obviously not Konoha, that's for sure."

Seriously. What is a shinobi? A 'Hidden Village', and why must you hide a village. More like, how? And also, what is Konoha?

"I'm going to call the Hokage here."

Hokage? What's that again?

"Wait here, don't bother trying to escape. Those cuffs will electrocute you when it detects chakra. And the door is chakra-resistant, too."

That's it. I lost my patience here. And I, being the idiot I am, asked the question.

"What in the freaking hell is a f*cking chakra, dumb*ss?!"
