It was a rainy morning in California. Inside a two-story house, a phone alarm went off.

Jessie POV:

I woke up to my annoying alarm. I turned it off and checked what day it was.

"Oh good, it's Saturday," I said to myself, lowering my phone and looking up at the ceiling. It had glow-in-the-dark star stickers on it. I looked over to my covered window. I heard tapping against it, and my eyes sparkled. "Is it-!?" I opened my curtains. It was raining.

I mentally cheered, grabbing my clothes from my closet. I changed into a yellow shirt and blue shorts. I went to my bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I brushed my teeth and then my hair. I opened a drawer to find the good kinds of hair ties.

"Yes! No crappy hair ties today!" I said to myself, putting my hair in a low ponytail.

Meanwhile...

Jackie POV:

 I woke up to my cat making biscuits right on top on my blanket, somehow also getting my t-shirt.

"Ow! Shadow, stop!" I told her. She stopped and looked at me, her head tilting. I sighed and got up, careful not to bother her again. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. "9:00am, Saturday. Oh thank god, I can't stand Patricia from English class." I said, putting my password in and playing some games. Suddenly, I got a call from Jamie, one of my besties. I was startled but I opened the call.

"Hey Jackie, you wanna go to Golive Arden with me?"

"No? Isn't it like, super expensive?" I asked her. She hung up. I rolled my eyes. I looked outside my window to see it was raining. I liked it when it rained. Hey, that reminds me of a song. I shook my head to get myself out of the trance. I put on a red tank top and a black plaid skirt. I went to my bathroom and put my hair in two low ponytails.

I walked downstairs, no one there. Phew. I made some avocado toast for myself and put my shoes on. I grabbed my dark red jacket from the downstairs closet and put it on, not covering my shoulders. I hesitated before putting my hand on the doorknob. I looked over to my umbrella and grabbed it, also zipping my jacket up over my shoulders for once.

I put my phone in my pocket and popped my AirPods in my ears. It played my favorite song. I opened the front door and quickly unfurled my umbrella. I walked to the nearby pond and threw some rice into it. The ducks rushed over to it and ate it. I heard somewhere they can eat it.

I kept walking, reaching a park. It had large umbrellas covering the tables and chairs, so I sat down and closed my umbrella. I took my AirPods out and put them back in the case, putting it in my pocket. I stared off into space.

Jessie POV:

I was walking, my rain boots squeaking each step I took. My rain hat didn't protect much of me from the rain, but I didn't mind. I reached the park, when I noticed one of my besties, Jackie. She was sitting at a table, resting her head on her head. She looks so cute... Wait, what? I looked to the ground then back at Jackie. She was staring right at me, lifting her head up from her hand. My heart raced. Why is my heart racing?! She motioned me it was okay for me to sit next to her. I went over to her and sat down, taking my hat off.

"So, what're you doing here?" She asked. God, her voice is so soothing.

"Um- I just was coming over here to think," I truthfully told her.

"Oh, me too. What about?" Jackie asked, looking up at me. A blush crept its way onto my face. I quickly turned my head around, hoping she didn't see my blush. Ugh, why am I acting like this? Oh wait, I need to answer her question.

"Just... um... boys?" I lied. I'm not sure why I lied. I was gonna think about love, but that's like, the same thing, right?

"Oh, do you like someone?" She asked.

"No," I told her.

"Okay..." she said, adjusting her jacket. That's when I noticed her jacket was covering her shoulders.

"Your j-"

"I know," Jackie told me, turning to the side.

"What were you thinking about?" I asked her. She perked up, turning back to me.

"Oh um... also boys! I gotta go now!" She said, running off. After a few minutes, I realized she left her umbrella. I picked it up and put my rain hat on.

"Looks like I gotta go over to her house." I blushed at the thought. WHY AM I BLUSHING?!?!
