Chapter Twelve

"You want me to what?!" Both Arang and Taehyung exclaimed simultaneously. They proceeded to glare spitefully at each other. Director Wan could do nothing but shake her head and massage her temples. God were these two giving her a terrible migraine. Talking to them was like conversing with a bunch of immature five year olds who thought about nothing but themselves.

"There is no way in hell I am going to date him!" "There is no way in hell I am going to date her!" The two of them ejaculated at the same time yet again.

"Oh please," Taehyung scoffed with an eyebrow quirked. "There are hundreds, if not thousands, of girls who'd kill to get a chance to date me. Even if it was only for an hour." He boasted cockily as he stuck his chin up into the air.

"Then they all must have some type of mental disorder." Arang fired back as she rolled her eyes. "There's no sane person who'd ever date an egocentric and selfish maniac willingly."

"What'd you just call me?" He snarled, baring his teeth at her.

"Are you deaf? Did your inflated ego mess with your cerebrum?" The girl snickered as she sent him a taunting gaze.

"You're so annoying!" Taehyung huffed, throwing both of his arms into the air. "How can such a horrid thing exist in this world?"

"Funny, why don't you go and ask your parents?" Arang replied cleverly.

Finally, after having had enough of their incessant bickering and bantering, Director Wan decided that it was time for her to intervene. She stalked up behind the two of them and harshly tugged the boy's ear down. Taehyung yelped while Arang smirked smugly at him. "Omonim!" He cried out, wriggling in her grasp. "Why are you only punishing me?" He whined. He glared at Arang who stuck her tongue at him.

"Because as a member of this agency I expect you to behave yourself at all times, Taehyung." Director Wan chided apprehensively. "I asked Arang-sshi to come here as our guest. So are you going to be polite and courteous now?"

"Guest my as—" The older woman yanked his ear harder, preventing him from completing his rude remark.

"Not another word, young man. Ever since you've debuted you have caused nothing but scandals and problems for us. First it was the Peeping Tae incident and now there are photos of you and Arang-sshi in a rather suggestive position that could be easily misinterpreted floating all over the Internet. Just what were you thinking?" She sighed as she released him and walked back to her seat. She sat down and switched her gazes between the two youngsters planted in front of her.

"I'll tell you what he was thinking," Arang cut in. Taehyung and Director Wan looked her with much curiosity as they waited in anticipation to hear her answer. "It's plain and simple really. He wasn't thinking at all. End of story."

Taehyung's face hardened and he turned to Director Wan. "You expect me to be polite and courteous to this she-wolf? No thanks. Do you not see how rude she is to me? I've done nothing to her!"

"Stop trying to play the innocent victim. We all know you're a first-class demon from the fiery depths of hell." Arang scoffed in immense disagreement.

"You kids are completely impossible. I've never seen two people argue so much. However, she does have a valid point, Taehyung-ah. If you had your head screwed on right from the start and had been more cautious about leaving your dorm none of this would have happened." Director Wan pointed out.

The boy's jaw dropped and he openly gawked in disbelief. "You're seriously going to blame me right now? I can't believe this. This is beyond ridiculous."

"It is your fault." Arang bluntly reminded. "So of course you're the one to blame. It's common sense, isn't it?"

"I really can't stand you." He hissed with his teeth clenched.

"Well I guess it's a good thing you're sitting down then." She mused.

"Do you always have a snarky and snide comeback for everything I say?" He frowned.

"I would say they're more like clever and witty remarks. Besides everything I'm saying is the truth anyways." She corrected.

Taehyung's nostrils flared as he breathed out heavily. "I hate girls like you." He grumbled quietly.

"I feel the same way about you too." She smiled sweetly.

His mouth fell open and his eyes widened. "Did you just call me a girl?"

"I call them like I see them." Arang mused, shrugging her shoulders in a nonchalant manner.

"That's it. I'm out of here." He declared, shooting up from his chair. "I don't need to deal with people like you who are only a waste of space."

"You'd know what that feels like better than anyone else." She swiftly retorted.

"And you expected me to willingly date this thing?" Taehyung scoffed at Director Wan. He raked his fingers through his hair and shook his head in dismal. "Listen to me carefully, omonim, because I am only going to say this once, I, Kim Taehyung, will never, not even if my life depended on it, date So Arang and there's nothing you can say or do that will change my mind."

As the door slammed shut with a loud bang, Arang couldn't help but snort. "I wouldn't date him even if the fate of the entire galaxy depended on it." Next she climbed to her feet and sent the elder a small bow. "If this was what you invited me here for then I am sorry to say that I am not even the slightest bit interested in seeing that idiotic, two-faced pervert ever again. I will take my leave now."

Arang's fingers were firmly coiled around the handle when Director Wan suddenly spoke up. "Not even if I paid you to do so?" Her question definitely caught Arang's attention and she peered over her shoulder, nearly frozen in her place. "Think of this offer as another part-time job. We can draw up a contract right now if you'd like. Anything you want I will be more than willing to oblige with as long as it is reasonable. All you have to do is date Taehyung. Well, pretend to anyways."

"As tempting as that sounds, I'm not that money-crazed. I'll live. I do, however, wish you the best of luck. You're going to need a lot to be able to deal with a brat like him." Arang answered.

"Listen, Arang-sshi." Director Wan sighed, not wanting to use her last resort. But it seemed like she might have to. "That brat's face is not the only one in the pictures. Yours is too. Haven't you read all of the comments fans have been posting about the both of you? There are hundreds of people trying to uncover your identity as we speak and once they find out your name and where you live, they will never leave you alone. Whether you like it or not you're a star now. If you want to be protected from all of this you're going to have to cooperate with me. You don't have a choice."

"Are you threatening me?" Arang inquired with one brow quirked into the air.

"Of course not. I only have your best interests at heart along with Taehyung's." The older woman stated firmly. "Trust me; once they have information on you they won't stop hounding you. Some fans are so obsessed with him that they could even physically harm you."

Arang turned around and crossed her arms in front her chest. "So let me get this straight," she said flatly. "You want me to agree to pretend to date that pervert so that you could you protect me from all of his psychotic fans? Does that even make sense? Wouldn't that cause an even bigger problem? Right now they are only making speculations; they don't have any evidence, other than those photos, that could support their ludicrous theory. In a few days this will all blow over."

"Are you sure about that?" Director Wan challenged.

"Positive." Arang asserted, her aura exuding extreme confidence.

"Alright, if you say so. But just remember if it gets too overwhelming for you to handle on your own my door will always be open for you." Without saying another word, Arang left the office. "I guess she's going to have to learn the hard way." Director Wan murmured, shaking her head.

Waiting for the elevator to arrive, Arang impatiently tapped her foot against the waxed floor and checked her watch. Finally the doors slid apart and she stepped in. She hit the button for the lobby and pulled out her phone since she had felt it reverberate in her pocket. It was a text sent from a blocked number. Her eyebrows bunched upon opening the message. "I know who you are. You better watch your back." She read aloud. For a moment, she did not react at all until there was a ping. She glanced up and saw a familiar figure enter. The boy's eyes lit up when his mind registered her face.

"It's you again." He beamed brightly. "What brings you here?"

His friendly behavior made Arang feel slightly unsettled as she inched away. "Why are you talking to me like that?" She asked.

He blinked innocently at her while his head was tilted to the right. "Talking to you like what? What do you mean?"

"All chummy-like." Arang answered. "If I were you I'd be pissed at me."

"Are you referring to the water-bottle incident at the fan-meeting?" Jimin chuckled and flashed his pearly-whites. "Don't worry about it. Accidents happen, don't they? I'm not the kind of person who holds grudges."

She sent him an estranged and peculiar look. "You're weird." She commented truthfully. They reached the lobby and she exited first. "But it's not a bad thing." She added in before she turned around and walked away.

The smile on the boy's face only widened as he watched her retrieving figure.
