Chapter Thirty-Two

The charisma and aura the boys were giving off while they performed were alluring and most definitely captivating. Arang wouldn't argue with that. Never once did her eyes drift away from them. They had a way of entrancing their audience and it seemed so effortless on their part. Watching them live was an eye-opening experience for sure.

The entire time the boys were on stage boisterous shrieks and chants echoed throughout the place. It was clear that despite the unavailable status of the group's resident alien, their fans still loved and treasured each and every member. If they didn't they wouldn't be up this early, screaming their hearts out to cheer on their idols.

Arang kept a placid and collected countenance while Saeyoung had done the complete opposite. The younger So looked like she belonged amongst the crowd with all of her flailing and screeching. In fact at one point she had screamed so loud that Arang was surprised her sister hadn't ruptured a lung yet. However, seeing how energetic and joyous Saeyoung was made her happy. That's what counted. They might not always get along and be the best of friends but they were family. Arang would do anything for the people she loved. Even go to the moon and back if that's what they wanted.

As the music reached its conclusion the Bangtan Boys struck their last and final pose, looking chic yet very rebellious at the same time. The boys immediately bowed after and just before they exited the stage, the spectators took them by surprise. In perfect unison, the crowd chorused "Kim Tae Hyung, So Ah Rang. Please take care. We're cheering you on." A few people even held up posters that were plastered with photos of the lovely couple on the day of the press conference.

Of course Taehyung couldn't walk off and ignore them. How could he? Yoongi gave him his microphone, and the boy turned to the audience. "Thank you all so much for your kind words. My girlfriend and I are beyond grateful to have such compassionate people standing behind us. Please enjoy the rest of your day. Until next time." He sent another small bow to everyone before he followed his friends off the stage.

"What did you guys think?" Namjoon panted as he tried to steady his breathing.

"It was awesome!" Saeyoung exclaimed, giving them two-thumbs up. If she had more thumbs, she would have put them all up. That's how amazing their performance was. "Did you hear the fans at the end, unnie? They know who you are! I told you, didn't I? You're a mini-celebrity amongst BTS's fandom now!"

"Let's not get too excited here." Jungkook grumbled as he stared Saeyoung down like a hawk ready to swoop down and snatch its prey. "Not everyone will be as nice as those fans were just now."

"I already knew that," Saeyoung announced, slightly irritated. Who was he to ruin her mood? He should've kept his mouth shut. He was a thousand times more attractive when he wasn't talking. Why was he butting in anyways? The last time she checked, she had been addressing Arang, not him. "But it's always comforting to know that there are people out there who believe in them, isn't it?"

Jungkook was about to give his rebuttal when Hoseok grabbed his arm and shook his head. It wasn't the appropriate time for them to be discussing such private affairs. Although the youngest member wanted to put Saeyoung in her place, he had to refrain from doing so. The group couldn't afford any more scandals or rumors. It was too dangerous, especially because Taehyung's relationship with Arang was still a trending topic. If he wasn't careful, Jungkook could be the next member to be in the spotlight. He didn't want that. All he wanted to do was focus on his dreams.

"Here," Arang held a handkerchief out and Taehyung glanced down at it, nearly going cross-eyed during the process.

"What am I supposed to do with that?" He questioned.

The girl sighed and took a step toward him. She raised the fabric up and naturally Taehyung flinched, thinking that she was going to hit him. His composure relaxed when she began to wipe away the perspiration that had formed on his face.

"Oh my god. I can't watch them anymore. Let's go guys. Why don't I have someone doing that for me?" Yoongi huffed as he and everyone else left the two lovebirds alone.

"I can do it for you." Saeyoung squeaked, taking out her own handkerchief.

"Really?" The older male crooned.

Arang and Taehyung didn't even hear what Yoongi had said about them. Their minds were preoccupied by other things. "Lift your hair up." She mandated. Without skipping a beat Taehyung pushed the hair away and watched as Arang gently patted his forehead. "Keep it. It's full of your sweat. I'm not putting it back in my bag." She stated as she stuffed the hanky into his palm.

He stared at the cloth sitting in his hand and then up at the girl who was sauntering away. Next he ran up after her and was able to catch up. "Aren't our fans the best?"

"They're loud. I'll give them that." She declared. "I just found it really weird. Did they have to do that chant? It was so cheesy."

"Hey, at least they're not throwing eggs and flour at us. Which one would you prefer?" It was a no brainer. "Exactly."

"Good job out there. Who knew you could actually sing and dance? I sure didn't. I almost had a heart attack because I was so astounded." She stated mockingly.

"Of course I can sing and dance. If I didn't, do you think I would have been able to debut?" Taehyung snorted.

"That's debatable." Arang hummed.

"That was a rhetorical question." He sneered lightly.

She stopped and turned his way. "Hold on, you know what rhetorical means?"

"Ha ha, you're hilarious, So Arang." The boy deadpanned. "Anyways, are you doing anything after this?"

They entered the waiting room and she thought about the inquiry. "I don't think I am. My parents didn't tell me anything. Why?"

"Do you want to hang out with us?"

She quirked a brow, "And do what?"

"I don't know. Stuff?" He answered vaguely.

Arang crinkled her nose. "As thrilling as that sounds, I think I'm going to pa—"

Her statement was cut short by Saeyoung who clearly didn't realize that the conversation did not involve her. "Of course we'll hang out with you guys, oppa."

Two or three hours had gone by. The boys weren't allowed to leave yet since they had to be present when the winners of this week's broadcast were announced. Although they were aware that they weren't going to be receiving the trophy, they had to stay behind and show respect to their seniors. Saeyoung was busy conversing with Seokjin while everyone else watched the other groups perform on the monitor. Arang was struggling to remain conscious. She hated waking up early and today was no exception. She was on the couch, sitting beside Taehyung. Her head would fall to the side every now and then and the boy took notice. If she wanted to sleep, she could have told him. Her foolish actions made him smile. At last an assistant returned and called for the boys. Arang and Saeyoung decided not to go and wait for them there.

After the last segment was recorded, they were all free to leave. It was about time.

"Would you girls mind waiting outside? We're going to change." Seokjin requested and although drool was starting to pool in Saeyoung's mouth, Arang dragged her out of the room. The door closed behind them and Saeyoung immediately threw a tantrum.

"Why did you do that? I wanted to see them change. I wouldn't have minded." She whined.

"You might not be bothered by it but they would be. Don't be childish, Sae. It's not right for us to stay in there while they change. You know better." Arang chastised with a disapproving expression sitting on her face.

"But it's BTS." Saeyoung gushed. "How could I let a golden opportunity like this slip right through my fingers? Come on, just one peek. I'll act like I forgot something." She reached for the door but Arang was able to react swiftly.

"No means no. Even though they're your idols you should respect them and give them their privacy, especially if they ask for it. If you don't listen I'm never brining you along with me ever again." The older girl threatened.

Saeyoung's eyes widened. "You mean you're going to let me tag along with you to other performances? No way. You're the best, unnie! I love you so much!" She jumped forward and wrapped her arms around Arang.

"I know I am. You don't need to tell me." She laughed as she allowed Saeyoung to shake her. "Now let me go. You're starting to make me sick."

A few minutes later the boys all piled out with their manager. "I presume you ladies will be riding with us?" He assumed.

Saeyoung was the first to react as she bobbed her head up and down eagerly. "I guess we are." Arang stated. She was a little worried since there were ten people in total. Were they all going to fit? Was it going to be cramped?

The seating in the van was better than she had expected. It was actually rather spacious. Sitting up front was the manager, who was the designated driver, while Namjoon was in the passenger's seat. The four single seats were occupied by Yoongi, Hoseok, Saeyoung, and Jungkook, and in the back, slightly squished, were Seokjin Jimin, Arang and Taehyung. They were heading to the agency to get some more practice in. How hadn't they passed out yet? That was a mystery Arang couldn't solve.

Saeyoung was eagerly blabbering away about random things with Yoongi and Hoseok who were in front of her. In other words, she was completely ignoring the boy stationed next to her. It's not like he wanted to talk to her anyways. He made that fact pretty clear when he crossed his arms in front of his chest and screwed his eyes shut as soon as they boarded the vehicle. Someone definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and no, it wasn't Saeyoung.

"I thought you were going to miss the entire performance." Taehyung muttered, staring out the window.

"I would have if Saeyoung hadn't barged into my room." She responded candidly. "You should have warned me you guys were going to be recording this at six in the morning."

"Why?" He turned her way. "Would you have woken up earlier?" He grinned.

"No," she shook her head. "I would have told you that I couldn't make it."

Taehyung's face went sour while Jimin, who had accidentally overheard their exchange, chuckled. It's not his fault the two weren't discreet. "Yeah, we should have probably warned you ahead of time. I think we were just excited to have someone we actually knew intimately, other than our manager, there cheering us on along with our fans. It's nice and comforting." He explained.

Arang looked at Jimin and blinked. "What about your families and friends from school? Don't they come and support you?"

"They can't." Taehyung sighed drearily.

"And why is that?" She returned her attention towards him. Did their families not approve of their careers? Had their old friends forgotten about them? How come no one they were acquainted with attended their performances?

"Because they all say it's too early for them." Taehyung finally declared before he and Jimin laughed. Arang's face became stale. She should have expected that. "But since you're my girlfriend, it's your job to come and support us. You don't have a choice." No it wasn't. Did he forget that she was fake girlfriend, notice the emphasis on the word fake. She didn't have to do anything she didn't want to do. If he was going to pull the girlfriend card on her, then sooner or later she was going to do the same. She just had to wait for the perfect opportunity to use it.

"This is your practice room? Wow! I can't believe I'm really standing in here!" Saeyoung bounced up and down excitedly as she ran around touching everything, even the mirrors.

"It's not permanent. We're going to be switching to a better room soon." Said Jimin.

"Would it be okay if I took a video then? I want to show it to my friends. We've always wondered what this palce looked like. I mean we saw one part of it in the practice video that was posted on YouTube but it's so different in person." Saeyoung looked at the leader with big, sparkling eyes. How could Namjoon refuse?

"We're going to practice the choreography. Would you ladies like to learn some moves? It'll be fun!" Yoongi exclaimed.

"Actually, my friends and I were thinking about performing No More Dream for our school's talent show." Saeyoung confessed as she put her phone away. This was the first time Arang was hearing of this. Since when was her sister interested in dancing? Never once had she talked about it at home. Perhaps it was a hobby she picked up after watching all of the various idols on television.

"Really? That sounds wicked." Hoseok complimented. "Why don't you practice with us then? We can give you some tips."

Saeyoung's jaw dropped as she feverishly shook her head. "No, no. It's okay. I don't think I'm at par with you guys. I don't want to embarrass myself."

"If you don't even have the confidence, why bother?" Jungkook scoffed.

Arang furrowed her brows. Was there something going on between the two of them?

Saeyoung frowned at him. Seriously! What was wrong with him?

"The only way you'll get better is to practice." Jimin pointed out. "Give it a shot. We won't laugh at you."

"Whose part are you practicing?" Taehyung questioned.

"His." Saeyoung gritted, nodding her head at Jungkook. Could fate be any crueler? It wasn't her choice. Her friends had decided she would take on his role. If she had a say, she would have picked Seokjin's part. Too bad she didn't.

"Alright then. It's settled. Jungkook, you sit out on this one. We'll see how Saeyoung does. We should record it so we can review it afterwards." Namjoon noted.

"But would you be able to lift Jimin up?" Seokjin added in, referring to the ending where Jungkook usually hoisted Jimin up.

"Uh—I guess we'll have to wait and see?" Saeyoung stated sheepishly. Butterflies were fluttering around in the girl's stomach. She was beyond nervous. What if she messed up? She'd never be able to live with the humiliation. Sure, Jimin promised that they weren't going to tease her but still. Her palms were getting clammy as she inhaled deeply. She's practiced this dance many times yet she still doubted herself. Jungkook was right. If she didn't have the confidence, why even bother?

Arang was interested in watching how this played out. Namjoon had placed Saeyoung's phone onto the stand and Arang was placed in charge of recording the session. "Are you ready?" Seokjin smiled as Hoseok went over to turn on the speakers.

"Not really." She heaved, tying her hair up so that it wouldn't get in the way.

"Relax. I believe in you." He pumped his fist and that helped Saeyoung calm down a bit.

Everyone got into position and Jungkook was the one who hit play. As soon as the music started Saeyoung's body began to function on its own. There were no traces of fear or shyness in her eyes. In her head, she counted the beats and executed the moves flawlessly. She didn't think about anything else but the proceeding step. From her gestures to her expressions. She nailed every part. She was even lip-syncing without a problem!

Arang couldn't control her wide smile. Saeyoung always found new ways to surprise her.

Jungkook was astonished as he observed the girl. She was good. Of course not as good as him but shit, Saeyoung actually managed to keep up with the rest of the members! She looked so natural. Despite her feminine appearance, it was as though she was one of them! How the hell—why was she so worried? Was she being modest or did she really not know that she had a knack for dancing? The hardest part arrived and surprisingly enough she managed to lift Jimin. When the song came to an end, she struck the final pose before bending over and wheezing like there was no tomorrow. She didn't even want to watch the video. She probably looked awful dancing next to the other members.

The boys had been too focused on the dance so when they watched the recording they were in awe.

"You were amazing!" Hoseok announced as he held the phone out in front of him.

Saeyoung's head snapped upward. "W-what?" She heaved as she stood up straight. "Really?" Was she hearing this right? She rushed over and watched the rest of the video with them. Hoseok wasn't lying to her! She wasn't as bad as she had thought she was.

"Wow, this is no joke." Namjoon commented, immensely impressed.

"You even got the facial expression Jungkook makes when he dances!" Yoongi gawked as he gave her a thumbs-up.

Jungkook glanced away and disagreed. "No she didn't. You guys are exaggerating. Her performance was mediocre."

"Don't be jealous, kiddo. We won't replace you. Although, if you do get injured, we always have Saeyoung as backup." Seokjin chortled, hooking an arm around the younger boy's neck.

"If you're friends are as good as you are, you guys will definitely steal the spotlight!" Jimin complimented enthusiastically.

"Do—do you guys really mean it?" A proud grin sprawled over her face as she jumped up and down. All of those hours of constant practice had finally paid off. Everyone acknowledged her but one person. While the rest of the members were busy grabbing a quick drink, Saeyoung approached Jungkook. "Do you hate me?" She asked bluntly.

"Excuse me?" Jungkook peered up from his phone.

"You don't like me, do you?" Saeyoung cocked her head to the side and waited for his response. "Why? Was it because I snapped at you the last time we met?"

Silence.

"Fine then. Go ahead and be petty." She huffed, whirling around. Just as she was about to walk away, he answered her.

"No, it's because you don't seem to remember who I am." He whispered.
