Chapter Fifteen

Arang checked the time and silently groaned. Why did this have to happen? She wanted to get as far away as she could from Taehyung as soon as possible but now, now that task seemed impossible to accomplish. If only the elevator doors had closed before he had gotten on. Then they could have avoided all of this. As she thought about it some more, this was indeed Taehyung's fault. If he hadn't blabbered on so much, she wouldn't have attacked him and they wouldn't have been caught in that rather suggestive position by the rest of BTS.

Taking a deep breath to try and control her irritation, Arang looked up and was surprised to lock eyes with Jimin. The boy sent her a small smile but she did not do the same. Instead she turned away and ended up staring at the wall. She didn't want to talk and so she was planning on not uttering a single word. This meant that Taehyung had to do all of the talking.

"Girlfriend?!" Taehyung sighed while the girl did her best not to look repugnant. She was sitting roughly five feet away from him on the floor while the rest of the members were sprawled out in front of them.

The six boys couldn't believe what was happening! Since their arrival at the practice room, neither Arang nor Taehyung had done so much as even steal a glimpse of one other. If it weren't for the elevator incident they would have found it rather difficult to think of the two as a couple. As they examined the pair further, the members thought they looked more like sworn enemies who were ready to pounce at any moment. Not a couple madly in love.

For as long as they had known Kim Taehyung never once did he bother to mention to them that he was dating someone. And to think that his significant other turned out to be the crazy, brazen girl from their first fan meeting made their story all the more bizarre. Nothing made sense to them which definitely called for a thorough explanation and repetition of the same questions.

"So you two are really in a relationship? With each other?" Hoseok asked for the umpteenth time. His eyes constantly shifted between Arang and Taehyung.

Taehyung massaged his temples before looking pointedly at his friends. "How many times do I have to say yes before you guys stop asking me whether or not I'm dating her? It's pretty obvious, isn't it? You all saw the pictures posted online too, didn't you?"

"Well, sometimes pictures can be a deceiving." Seokjin pointed out.

"Yeah but ours aren't. What you see is exactly what you get. She's even introduced me to her parents." He announced proudly.

"Wow, so you guys are that serious?" Yoongi gaped.

"Of course. When you date someone you, don't you do it with the intention of marriage?" Taehyung wittingly replied.

"What does the director think about all of this?" Namjoon questioned.

"She's fine with it. Actually, she's the one who wants us to go public." The boy reported.

"Really?" Jimin piped up. His friend nodded.

"Things are still not adding up for me." Hoseok slapped on his thinking face as he continued to review the events and facts in his head.

"Yeah, when we first ran into each other at the food stall you acted like you didn't know us at all. In fact, you sounded like you hated us." Jungkook frowned while creases sat in his forehead. This was the first time Taehyung had heard about the incident but because it was Arang they were talking about here, he didn't find it hard to believe.

Arang had been spaced out for a majority of the time and didn't realize that she was now being addressed. It took her boyfriend nudging her to break her out of her trance. She scowled at the contact and just as she was about to snap at him, she quickly remembered that they were not alone. "Jungkook is talking to you." Taehyung stated as he tried his best not to sound annoyed.

Great, someone just had to start a conversation with her. Why couldn't they ignore her and leave her alone? Couldn't they tell that she was not in the mood to talk to anybody? Lazily she turned her attention toward Yoongi who was closest to her. She thought he was the one who had said something to her. "What?" She deadpanned.

Taehyung bit down on his tongue and made a note to reprimand the girl for her lack of respect and enthusiasm when they were alone. She looked like she was at a funeral or something. Did she not know how many girls would love to be in her position right now? Would it have killed her to at least smile and put in some kind of effort so that they could convince his friends that they were indeed in a relationship?

"That's not Jungkook." Taehyung hissed under his breath.

"Like I care," she muttered back.

"I said when we first met each other you acted like you hated us." Jungkook repeated, drawing attention to himself.

Arang recalled the scene and nodded her head. "So I did."

"That's all you have to say?" Jungkook frowned.

Suddenly Arang felt someone pinching her and she figured out it was Taehyung. She hid her distaste and realized what he wanted her to do. "Well at the time we were still date,"—Arang paused because she didn't want to say complete her sentence but she knew that she had to—"dating in secrecy. So I didn't want to draw attention to myself. Sorry if I came off as a little rude."

"But what about when you poured water all over Jimin?" Namjoon pointed out.

"Yeah, you sure drew a lot of attention to yourself then, idiot." Taehyung snickered quietly.

Arang gritted her teeth and stealthily clawed Taehyung's back. "Ah I forgot about that." She forced herself to laugh awkwardly in order to buy herself some more time to come up with a reasonable explanation. Because she couldn't fabricate a good one, she decided to go with the vague truth. "I mistook him for someone else. I've already explained it to Director Wan. I don't think I ever apologized for that incident. Sorry, Jimin-sshi. I hope there are no hard feelings between us."

It was quiet before the victim spoke up. "It's okay. I've already forgiven you a long time ago." Jimin beamed. However, it still felt nice to hear the girl formally apologize for her actions. She looked pretty darn adorable doing it too.

Although there were still plenty of holes that needed to be filled up, the rest of the boys chose not to ask any more questions regarding the past. All that mattered was the fact that they were properly introduced to their friend's girlfriend. As long as Taehyung was happy, so were they. Who were they to stand in his way? If he was dating Arang that meant she had to be a good and lovable person. They assumed all they had to do was wait a little to see that side of her.

"Is it alright if we drop formalities and honorifics with you then, Arang?" Yoongi questioned.

"Ah of course. Please do." She nodded.

"Should we introduce ourselves then?" Hoseok stood up and everyone else followed suit. "I'm J-Hope but you can call me Hoseok."

"My fans know me as Suga but my real name is Yoongi. I don't mind either one of those." Yoongi stated.

"I'm Rap Monster but please call me Namjoon." The leader requested.

"I'm Seokjin. It's nice meeting you, Arang." He flashed a small smile and she returned the action.

"I'm Jimin. I love to dance." Jimin grinned. "I hope we can get along well."

"And I'm the youngest member, Jungkook. I guess I'll have to call you noona then."

Arang stood up and performed a small bow. "I'm So Arang. Please take care of me."

"While we're all here, should we order some takeout?" Seokjin suggested. "We could use that time to get to know Arang more."

"We'd love to stick around but I have to bring her home soon. Maybe another time." Taehyung climbed to his feet and slipped his hand into hers. The girl stiffened but did her best to conceal her disgust.

"Oh okay then. We'll see you next time then." Namjoon smiled.

The second they were alone, Arang and Taehyung ripped their hands apart. The girl glowered and pulled out some hand sanitizer. "Don't do that ever again without my permission. Who knows what kind of diseases you could be carrying." She squirted out half of the disinfectant and vigorously scrubbed her hands.

"I am not carrying any diseases." Taehyung sneered. "I had to do that to make it more believable unlike you. Couldn't you have pretended even a little that you liked me?"

"Do you know how repulsive that is?" Arang gagged and shivered. "You didn't have to hold my hand for us to leave. So what if we stayed? I would have gotten free food."

"If we get caught it will all be your fault. I don't know about you but I don't want to spend more of my precious time stuck playing house with you. If we had stayed who knows what other kinds of questions they'd ask us." He raked his fingers through his hair and shook his head.

"You were the one who got us into that situation. If you hadn't boarded the elevator and mindlessly ran your mouth everything would have been perfectly fine." Arang snapped as she raised her fist and pulled her arm back. "I should have just punched you when I had the chance."

"Wow, you're beyond ridiculous, do you know that? Why is everything my fault?" Taehyung growled as he glared at the girl.

"Because it is. Whatever, stop talking to me. I'm leaving now. Don't follow me." Arang ordered. She spun around and during the process she flicked her hair over her shoulder and whipped Taehyung right in the face.

"If she wasn't a girl I would have beaten her up a long time ago. Count yourself lucky, So Arang." Taehyung bared his teeth and just as he was about to go to the bathroom to wash his hands, his phone started ringing. It was Director Wan calling him. He sighed exasperatedly but answered.

"Please tell me you're with Arang and the two of you have not left the building." She pleaded desperately over the line.

"Uh—well, Arang said she had somewhere to be so she just left." Taehyung lied.

"Go get her right now, Kim Taehyung! Whatever you do don't you dare let her go out through the front doors!" The woman yelled frantically.

"What? Why?" Taehyung's brows scrunched together and he walked over to a window. When he looked out, his eyes nearly fell out of their sockets. Without thinking he bolted toward the direction he had last seen Arang going. He saw her in the elevator at the end of the corridor and sprinted to her. "So Arang!" He screamed. She looked up and frowned.

"Didn't I tell him not to follow me?" She kept hitting the button so that the doors would close and this time they did.

"Crap!" Taehyung hit the sealed doors and quickly looked for the stairs. When he spotted them he wasted no time. As fast as he could he skipped down the steps. Beads of sweat were starting to form but he knew he had to catch Arang before she walked out to her own doom. No matter how much he disliked her, he wasn't going to let her die in the hands of his fans. If she was going to meet her demise, he wanted to be the one to cause it. Yeah, you read that right. He's definitely a peculiar character.

Nearly out of breath, Taehyung finally reached the lobby. He looked over and spotted Arang heading for the main entrance. He ran up behind her and caught her wrist. She looked back, startled. "I caught you." He heaved.

"What are you doing?" Arang tried to wriggle out of his grasp but he overpowered her.

"Follow me," he mandated.

"Why would I do that?" She challenged.

"Because if you walk out those doors right now you're going to regret it." Taehyung explained.

Arang scoffed and yanked her wrist out of his hold. "And if I stay here you're the one that's going to be in deep regret." Haughtily, Arang marched out of the agency. Her eyes widened when she was greeted by a mob of girls who all looked furious.

"That's her!" Someone in the crowd yelled angrily.

"She's the one who stole our Taehyung from us!" Another cried.

"You skank! Who do you think you are? Take this!"

Just then a few eggs and a bowl of flour came soaring toward Arang. The girl stood frozen in her place because of the initial shock. Then the eggs cracked and splattered against her chest and head while the flour covered her face and hair. More eggs were thrown at her but before anything else could hit her, Taehyung jumped in. He had wrapped his arms around Arang's slender figure while he used his own body to shield her. The other eggs broke against his head and back. Loud gasps echoed throughout the entire crowd which had fallen silent; they were not expecting that.

"Kim Taehyung." Arang blinked as she glanced up at the boy, completely speechless.

"I told you you were going to regret it," he replied.
