This question has haunted us all as Wattpad (and nonwattpad) writers. 

How many words is too much?

The answer is actually not definite, guys. As a writer on here, I've heard from both sides. The people that prefer shorter chapters and the people who prefer lengthy chapters. 

How long a chapter should be should be up to YOU! Yes, you heard me, you, not your readers. I recommend you read your chapter before posting and if you find yourself losing focus by the end of it, it's safe to say your readers will as well. If you feel unsatisfied because it's too short, it's safe to say your readers will too. So you need to go by how you feel about it. 

As for me? I find myself writing between 1,700 and 2,100 for the most part. This varies depending on the book, but I've learned it's a good length and doesn't bore me (or my readers)

So next time you find that you're doubting yourself or your chapter, remember to take a step back and view it as a reader would.
