I was doing my best to fall asleep but I couldn't help thinking about the games.
Luckily Shawn left me some pills for sleeping that helped me.

Shawn was the last person I saw before the games.
I don't know why it wasn't my father.

"Where's dad?" I asked.
"I don't know but he won't come."
I tried to act like I don't care.
Shawn put my jasper necklace on me and hided under my sliver suit.
"They gave you the swimming suit so you'll probably be on the tropics." He said.
"Thank you, Shawn. For everything."
He smiled when the tube opened and I had to go.

I got on the arena and started looking around. I had 10 seconds.

There was Cornucopia in the middle and 4 paths surrounded by water. All the paths were leading to 4 different island. I didn't know if I should swim with my robotic arm, I think I'll avoid water.
I spotted a backpack quite near me.
I have to grab it and run.

The horn sounded.

Everyone was running into the Cornucopia. I grabbed the backpack.
Careers were killing everyone including all the 12 year olds.
I thought about jumping into the water and unplugging my arm but then I noticed something terrifying.

Pearl form 4 after killing a kid from 6 and grabbing some supplies jumped into the water.
She immediately started screaming and blood appeared in the ocean.
Those were piranhas who ate her alive.
Now I know that I should avoid water even more.

I ran away not looking on which island I'm going. I noticed that Pearl wasn't the only one who was ate by the piranhas.

I got on the island.
It was all snowy and it had a lot of trees. It was cold but not too cold.

I found a hiding spot and looked inside my backpack.
It had a knife, a sleeping bag, a rope, some water and a loaf of bread.
Now I hope, the careers won't find me.
But just in case anyone comes I decided to set a trap near me.

I didn't do anything too complicated.
I put the bread near the rope, so that if anyone comes near their leg will be stuck in the rope.

I tried to take just a small nap but I woke up in the middle of the night when the fallen tributes where shown on the sky;

-both from 6
-both from 5
- Todd and Pearl from 4
- a boy from 7
- both from 8
- both from 9
- both from 10
- a boy from 12
- a girl from 11

15 people are dead, 9 people are left.
Melody is still alive.

It was a middle of the night and I heard someone falling into my trap.
I immediately went to see who it was.

It was Evelyn from 12.

"I'm not going to kill you." I said to her.
"Then why did you put the trap?" She asked while I was freeing her.
"For the careers ofcourse." I replied.
"Clever move." She said as she safely got on the ground.
"You're doing night hunting?" I asked as I saw her sword in her hand.
"Hunting for food more than for tributes." Evelyn said.
"Good to know."

...

In the morning we were discussing on which island we should go.

"There are four islands, each of them is a different season." Evelyn said.
She was right.
Now we are on the Winter island, the one next to Winter is Autumn. The other two are Summer and Spring.
"I don't think we should go on the Summer one, last time the careers were there." She added.
"Autumn or Spring then?" I asked.
"Autumn, it's closer." She replied.

We went to the Autumn island.
It was a forest with many orange and golden leaves on the ground.
There were apples on the trees.
Evelyn wanted to take one of them but I stopped her.
"I don't think we should eat those." I said.
"Why? We're starving."
"Think about it. Free apples are in the middle of an arena where everyone is starving."
"They can be poisonous." She figured out.
"If we only could..." I started thinking and then I noticed a package falling on a small parachute.
I opened it and it was a small sort of  tap and a note.
"What's that?" Evelyn asked.
"We will use it later." I said.
"You know what to do ~ Shawn" the note said.

The tap sure will be useful but I needed the box more now.
"We will put some apples in here." I said as I put the tap in my backpack.
"And give it to someone and they will think it's from sponsors!" Evelyn said.
"You're a genius." She added.
"Yeah, thanks." I smiled.
We put some apples in the box and looked for tributes.
We quickly spotted a group of careers.
"You ruined our supplies!" Jason yelled at Derek from 11.
"I'm sorry, a girl from 7 came here and I didn't manage to stop her." He answered.
Jason was fuoris, he punched Derek and stabbed him in his heart.
A cannon sounded.
"The kid is dead but we still have no food." Arianna said.
"Me and Daron will go and look if there's something or someone to hunt. You two stay here and take care of this a little supplies that we have left." Amy said.

After Amy and Daron left, Arianna from 2 and Jason from 1 were left alone.
"Can you climb a tree?" I asked to Evelyn.
"Yeah, I'll drop the parachute and you hide." She said.

I hid in a pile of leaves hoping no one will see me or Evelyn.
Evelyn climbed the tree and dropped the box. Luckily the careers didn't see her and thought that the package is from a sponsor.
"Look!" Jason said.
"It's probably for me." Arianna took out the package from Jason hands and opened it.
She immediately took one of the apples.
"Shouldn't we wait for the others?" Joson asked.
"Oh, I won't eat them all."
Arianna bit on of the apples.
Immediately she started coughing with blood.
"Arianna!" Jason tried to help her as she was lying on the ground and shaking.

Within a minute her cannon sounded.

Evelyn carefully came back to me.
"Let's go to another island." She whispered and I nodded my head.

We left and started going to the Spring island.
"The apples are bad, we have to remember that." Evelyn said.
"Yeah and we just killed a career."
"But they don't know that it was us." She replied.
"True."
"So, Jasper, can I ask you something?" Evelyn said.
"Yeah."
"How is that possible that you knew your dad before the games? He took part in them when he was 18." She asked.
"Well, I didn't actually know him before his games. My older sister was born when he was 16 and my mum 17 by accident. She was two when he went there but our mum told her about my father before the games and after my mum disappeared, my sister told them to me."
"Those stories felt so real, like I was actually there."
"I see, my sister changed too after the games."
"Didn't they all? All the victors, they all changed." I said.
"I can't disagree."
"How is life in District 12?" I asked to change the mood.
"Well, pretty bad. Before the Victory Village, I had a breakfast only once a week."
"Really?"
"Yeah, we don't have much. District 12 is the poorest district."

Evelyn's words suprised me.
I never knew about life in other districts and I didn't know it was that bad in 12.
