Chapter 4
The internet was a great place. Sometimes.
But now, it's only causing an annoyance to the trio.
Tubbo was watching his 47th conspiracy theorist. He was ranting about how everyone was reading his mind right now, and keeps insulting the viewer. Sometimes he'd just sit and stare. At least it was better than the woman that said that all of us were mermaids in our past life and reincarnated as humans to fit our new territory.
Tommy was in his fifth article about caves and rivers. He'd try searching magic, but the only thing that came up were TV shows and kids cartoons.
Ranboo was not desperate than the other two. He'd search wanting written the word rivers and powers on them, even resorting to badly written fanfiction.
It was a pityfull sight, really.
Closes thing that they can call progress was a picture of a glowing river and a person with blue dyed hair. But, that was only Photoshop.
Tommy closed his laptop. "This isn't working."
"Ya think? I feel like I've read so much fanfic that I know the whole plot of the characters without even watching the show!"
"My guy is talking about how water is actually optional. I've never thought I'd say this, but I've had enough internet for the day."
Tommy's eye's widened and he pulled a pillow to his face, muffled screams being heard.
Tubbo looked at the source of the sound. "Hah, me next."
After Tommy's screaming session, he pulled away from his pillow and buried his face into his hands.
"Why haven't we thought of this, we should've went into the cave! We got hurt there and checked out the pond, sans suddenly you have cool powers and blue blood!"
The two were frozen for a second.
"Oh."
So, here they are.
When they entered, Ranboo immediately tripped.
"Gosh, does this cave have bad luck?"
Ranboo brought himself back up, but as he stood, he saw the two crouching, looking at something.
"What are you guys looking at?"
"Ranboob, look." Tommy brought up the half of the split rock.
It had a thick blue liquid slowly coming out with the way it's tilted, with blue dots sparkling and shining.
Tubbo already grabbed the other half, putting it in his back that he bought for us they find something. And wow, did they find it.
"Do you think all the rocks are like this?"
Ranboo and Tommy turned their attention to Tubbo.
"Well, only one way to find out, right?"
Tommy walked around then grabbed the rock closest to him. He pulled his arm back, then threw as hard as he could.
The rock he picked up was much bigger, so it took more force to crack, yet there was a small glowing dent in the side.
Tommy jumped, his eyes practically filled with stars. "That's so cool!"
Tubbo walked up to Tommy, examining the rock himself. "Wait, now that I think of it... It kinda looks like the water from here."
Tommy looked at him, "Do you guys want to check it out?"
The duo gave him a nod. Tommy immediately grabbed both their wrists and pulled them towards the past pond they encountered.
It became clear to the trio that the glowing weren't their eyes playing tricks on them, as the glow was more harsher than before.
But, Tommy saw... Something else. Something shining in the water. He jumped in, startling the two who tried to get a hold of him.
Tommy reached out for the object. It was more clearer now.
By the time he returned to the surface, hugging the object close to him, the other two where rambling quickly on how he gave them a heart attack.
"Oh, right. Forgot that you guys were here for a sec, sorry."
Tubbo rolled his eyes at the apology, but it was obvious he was just worried.
Ranboo seemed to see Tommy's clenched fist as he held it closed to him. "What's uh- what's that you're holding?"
"Oh, I just found these, and I-"
Tommy opened his palm. There were three blue gems.
"Aw man, it broke!"
"It looks a little too symetrical for my comfort, to be honest." Tubbo walked towards Tommy.
As if by instinct, the three grabbed one of the pieces of the found gems. The more they stared at it, it changed color. Tommy's gem faded into red, Tubbo's faded to green, and lastly, Ranboo's faded to violet.
"This is slightly freaking me out." Tommy let out a weak chuckle.
