Chapter 5
QOTD: What's your favourite school subject? Mine's pe. ✌😁
Ryan's POV:
"Ryannnnnn! Help me!" I raced up the stairs into his room to see him anxiously holding a weirdly knotted tie in his hands.
How his tie looks like^
"Yes, Young Master?"
"Can you help me tie this? I'm out of pre-tied ties." He pouted adorably in distress as he handed me the tie.
"I thought I've taught you how to tie them?"
"I forgot...it's too complicated."
"You just couldn't be bothered to remember right, Young Master?" He gave me a guilty smile before scratching his neck embarrassingly.
"I have you here, don't I?" He says casually as I tied his tie around his neck.
"I won't be by your side forever, Young Master. One day, you'll get married and have a family. By that time, I am unable to help you already." A family...if only...
"I don't-"
"Done. Here you go, Young master." Patting his tie flat, I adjusted it for the last time before stepping back. Perfect.
"Thanks beautiful. Will you be accompanying me today?" He asked hopefully with a bright smile but dropped when I shook my head no.
"Sorry Young Master but Master will be accompanying you today. I'm on lookout."
"Can I find you when it gets boring?"
"I don't know where I'll be at, Young Master."
"That's fine. I'll find you." Nodding slowly, I checked that my pistol was kept securely under my suit before leaving his room. Time to mingle with the crowd...great...
Adrian's POV:
A family...I want a family with you though...can my wish ever come true?
"There you are Adrian!" Looking up, I caught sight of my dad walking elegantly in his business suit towards my direction as he held a wide smile on his face. "Follow me. I have guests that I want to introduce you to."
Following his back, I spotted Ryan standing silently behind a curtain as he blended in well with the whiteness. Hm...If I just add a few spotlights and turn off the lights...damn...that will be superb. "What are you staring at Adrian? Walk faster." Dad's voice snapped me out of my daze as I bowed a little as apology.
"Yes dad, sorry." Following quickly behind him, I turned back halfway to see Ryan gone from his spot already. Damn, he's really good at his job.
"Good evening, Mr Black. I'm Henry and this is my daughter, Catherine." A well dressed man around dad's age greeted as he motioned the lady beside him to do the same.
"It's nice to meet you, Sir."
"Good evening to you too, Mr Robertson and Miss Robertson. This is my son, Adrian."
"Nice you meet you, Mr and Miss Robertson." Shaking their hands respectfully, I stepped back quickly back behind my dad as they continued to interact.
"You have raised an extremely well-mannered son, Mr Black. He's a real gentleman."
"Thank you Mr Robertson, you have also raised an elegant and stunning looking daughter. And please, call me Lucian."
"Thank you too, Lucian. And please, call me Henry too."
"Why don't you follow me for a drink, Henry? Let's let the younger ones learn more about each other, shall we?" What? No! Don't do that to me dad!
"Yes we shall, Lucian. Take care of my daughter for me Adrian." Urgh...now I have to look out for her.
"Yes, Mr Robertson." Smiling widely, my dad led him away as I stood awkwardly beside Catherine. Let's find somewhere crowded where I can ditch her. Let me think...ahh...I think I have just the place.
"Um...shall we get a drink by the pool?"
"Sure." Walking down the spiral stairs, my eyes once again landed in my serious-looking beauty standing by the side of the pool. Found you beautiful.
Their indoor pool which is 3m deep^
"Why don't you wait here, Catherine? I'll grab you a glass." I suggested as we stood near the buffet table.
"Okay. Thanks Adrian."
"You're welcome." Yes! Ditched!
Tapping Ryan on his shoulder slightly, he jumped slightly in shock as he went to reach for his gun. "Found you, beautiful."
"Don't scare me like that, Young Master." He reprimanded me harshly yet almost inaudibly.
"What's the matter, beautiful?" He kept quiet as he stared past my back. "Beautiful?"
Ryan's POV:
It's the same man from just now. Shit. "Beautiful?" Not now Adrian, don't move. Please don't move at all. Launching his hand out, I followed suit, catching the sharp blade just centimetres away from digging into Adrian's spine. Pulling the knife out of his hand, I threw it into the pool swiftly before forcing him into the ground with his hands behind his back.
"Call the cops, Trisha." She nodded fearfully before running upstairs where the phone is. "Are you okay, Young Master?"
"R-Ryan, your hand." Adrian said worriedly as he tried to come closer to us but got pulled back by an elegant looking lady.
"I'm fine." Waving him away, I turned back to the guy to see a smirk on his face. "Who sent you?"
"Your god." He said with a grin on his face.
"Sorry but my god is standing right in front of me." He raised an eyebrow amazed before smirking widely.
"Oh, is that so? But your god forgot to remind you of my legs." Before I can even turn back to grab his legs, I felt something hard smack roughly at my neck, making my vision blur as I lost feeling of my whole body paralyze instantly. Shit.
"Ryan!" Losing my grip due to the free-flowing blood, I felt myself dip backwards, falling into the cold water as the culprit stood up quickly. The coldness pierced my skin like needles, biting into my open wound like a viper as water assaulted my eyes, nose and mouth.
Can't breathe. Someone help me, please. It hurts....It hurts to breathe...It hurts to feel...It hurts to stay awake... My consciousness slipped away quickly as I sunk deeper into the pool with every passing second as I felt myself choke on the gulps of water which effectively blocked my airway.
"Ryan!" Is this how it feels like to die? They did say that one will see their love one's image flash through your mind when they're on the verge of dying. This is kind of calming actually, to be able to see Adrian's face one last time. At least he's safe...I'm glad... really glad...
I'm tired...I've never felt so tired before. It's like there's an imaginary suction force sucking all the strength out of me. Unable to stay awake any longer, I felt myself slip into the water's comforting lullaby as the darkness snapped my last strand of consciousness.
At least Adrian's safe...that's all that matters...he's safe...If I ever get out of this alive...I should learn how to swim soon...
