I paced around nervously on the edge of my tree hut giving an occasional worried glance at a nest with two perfect eggs with all sorts of colors swirling through them. Deathbringer sat watching me.

"Sit down." Deathbringer told me. Reluctantly I sat down beside him and he put a wing around me.

"What if I'm a terrible mother?" I asked as I stared at the one full moon in the sky. That meant that our dragonets might have powers. "What if they hate me?"

"You're going to be a great mother and they're not going to hate you." Deathbringer reassured me. "Wow. I can't believe that I'm going to be a father."

We both sat in silence as we waited for our eggs to hatch. Suddenly a crack appeared along one of the eggs. "Deathbrigner they're hatching." I said as I watched in amazement. Another crack appeared along the egg. Slowly a tiny dragonet worked her way out of the egg until a there was a huge cracking sound and the egg broke into several pieces leaving my daughter standing there. Quickly I picked her up and held her close to me. We all watched as her little brother broke free from his egg and sent it breaking into several pieces. Deathbringer picked up my son and we stared at our beautiful children.

Finally I asked "What should we name them?". We fell into silence as we thought.

"How about Raindew?" I suggested.

"Perfect!" Deathbringer cried. I smiled as I watched Raindew giggle happily. Seeing his sister happy our other dragonet joined in.

"What about Darkshadow?" I suggested as I watched our son.

"That sounds like the perfect name!" Deathbringer replied. "Now the Kingdom has Princess Raindew and Prince Darkshadow."

Carefully we put them down on the ground to explore. I noticed that Raindew had silver teardrop shaped scales by her eyes. Looking over at Darkshadow I noticed that he had silver teardrop scales by his eyes. Realizing that they both could read minds I watched as both of them tilted their heads at me as though listening to my thoughts. Wanting to see if this was true I started to think of butterflies. Immediately they both started giggling. I smiled as we watched them play together. Raindew had the body of a Nightwing, except she had Rainwing tail with the ruff around her neck and horns, and she could also change color. Darkshadow had the body of a Nightwings, except for the tail and he could change color. They were both beautiful.

Eventually I picked up Raindew and Darkshadow in my arms and Deathbringer put his wing around me. I put my head on his chest and we all fell asleep as a family.

That was so much fun to write. I hope that you all enjoyed it. I was so excited the entire time that I was writing it.
