ACT TWO | CHAPTER 11 | THE VISION

Riley looked around, completely surprised by how no one was saying anything related to what they just saw. "Are you kidding me! That guy was born two seconds ago, and he gets to lift it?" she cried out. "Man, the universe sucks."

ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING

ACT ONE | CHAPTER 22 | COOL

"You look..." trailed off Peter, almost starstruck by what he was looking at. He just couldn't get the words out the way he wanted to. "You... You..."

Peter cleared his throat. Tell her how pretty she looks. Tell her she has to go to homecoming in that dress, thought Peter. Tell her that she looks incredible.

"You look really cool."

"Cool?"

"Cool."

ACT ONE | CHAPTER 01 | THE GOOD LIFE

When Peter continued to give them the silent treatment, Riley sighed. "Fine," she said. She turned to Ned. "There's another meme of Spider-Man."

"Riley!" whined Peter.

"Sorry! I had to keep him in the loop!"

Peter pouted. He pointed his plastic fork at Riley. "You know, when you put it like that, it just sounds like I can't take a joke. I can take jokes! I literally am a joke!"

ACT TWO | CHAPTER 05 | FIELD TRIP

"Hear me, and rejoice!" the shorter one, Ebony Maw, declared. "You are about to die at the hands of the Children of Thanos. Be thankful that your meaningless lives are now contributing to—"

"I'm sorry, Earth is closed today!" Tony interjected. "You better pack it up and get outta here!"

"Yeah, seriously!" agreed Riley. "I mean, what is this "Children of Thanos" bullshit? What, do you guys have alien daddy kinks or something?"

ACT TWO | CHAPTER 18 | PHYSICS ISN'T REAL

He rolled his eyes, throwing a book over his shoulder so that it'd hit her. She created a forcefield just in time to protect herself. "Did it hit you?" Tony wondered, not bothering to look back.

Riley scoffed. "No." However, as she replied, another object went flying at her. A notebook smacked her directly in the face. "Hey! I'll call Child Protective Services on you."

"Yeah?" challenged Tony. "At this hour? They're closed."

ACT TWO | CHAPTER 22 | RILEY'S REVOLUTIONARY REVELATION

Peter scoffed. "Pfft... Yeah right. I have a sixth sense, you know."

"Just because you have a Spidey Sense doesn't mean you have common sense, Pete," Riley teased.

ACT THREE | CHAPTER 15 | UNTIL ANOTHER DAY

"Pete?" Riley greeted, her voice gentle like the morning dew on the bushes. "What are you...?"

Peter approached Riley with heavy footsteps. It was enough to awaken the sleeping woodland animals and send the nighttime creatures fleeing. "You said you were gonna head out early this morning, so I wanted to join you before you left," he explained, his voice husky and tired.

Riley eyed him, unsure. "You look like you're about to pass out, amor."

Peter ungracefully dropped onto the grass beside her. His head hung slightly to the side as he sent Riley a dopey smile. "I wanted to be with you."

Though his words were casual, they sent the butterflies in Riley's stomach into a frenzy. Her smile grew as Peter leaned his head on her shoulder. His eyes fell shut briefly, the sound of Riley's quiet breathing relaxing him. "But if I fall asleep, I'm sorry in advance," he mumbled.

Riley snorted. "You should've stayed in bed."

"Don't worry, I'm awake," he mumbled. "Your shoulder's bony anyway."

Riley scoffed and nudged Peter with her elbow, causing him to jolt upward. "You don't deserve my shoulder," she declared despite the two of them giggling like children.

Peter pouted. "I'm sorry, Riles," he whined. He leaned up and kissed her cheek. "Didn't mean it." He kissed her cheek again before leaning on her shoulder once more.

As a blush burned Riley's face, Peter hummed, adding, "By the way, amor?"

She shrugged. "It slipped."

"I like it," he mumbled, eyes shut once again. "I like you."

MISADVENTURES IN PARADISE

ACT ONE | CHAPTER 08 | THE SERIES FINALE

Riley crouched before the boys, taking their hands. "Hey, hey, listen to me. Your mom is one of the strongest people I've ever met. If there's anyone who can handle this, it's her."

"How do you know that?" Billy panicked. "How can we trust you?"

"That's the point. You don't. That's up to you," Riley said. "You have your mother's magic running through you. I can feel it. Read my mind and find out for yourself."

Billy's breathing was unsteady. His magic was weak, and his emotions were too high. So, Riley coached him, "Listen to me, Billy. Focus on my thoughts. You're stronger than you know."

ACT TWO | CHAPTER 05 | KEEP BOTH EYES OPEN

Riley said nothing to Peter, but the little smiles they exchanged brightened the room. Being on good terms again felt like the first air of spring had returned. A fresh reset. If spring was the season of beginnings, what did that make summer? Sweltering, boiling summer, the season of long days, especially for the Avengers.

ACT TWO | CHAPTER 09 | SAVIOR COMPLEX

"Oh, great." Dr. Strange materialized into the dungeon through a portal. "You caught another one."

"No, wait!" Peter started. "Strange, he's not dangerous—!"

A golden portal swallowed Norman, locking him into the final empty cell. Norman emerged with a shocked wail. He pressed his hands against the barricade, trying to claw his way out.

"It's okay! It's okay," Peter called.

"He's harmless, Strange," Riley scolded. "The least you could've done was— What's with the Rubix cube?"

ACT THREE | CHAPTER 13 | MEMORY LANE

Both Peters looked up from their work, startled.

"That..." Peter 3 trailed off. "...is so crazy, I almost wouldn't believe it if I wasn't making anti-Lizard juice right now. Again. Are you okay?"

Riley smiled. "No. Are you?"

"Come to think of it, not really."

ACT THREE | CHAPTER 14 | STELLAR COLLISION

Peter hummed. "Looks like I have a lot to do when this is over. Gotta flee the country, get some chickens... some sailboats... and you want churros? You know I still gotta save the universe, right? And I'm still broke?"

"At least you have a decent excuse this time. The other day, Tony told me you tried to avoid joining the Avengers in Berlin all those years ago to do homework."

"It was important at the time!"

"God, you're such a loser."

"Yeah, you have a type if you haven't noticed—"

"Shut up!"

ACT THREE | INTERMISSION | AS IT WAS

It almost seemed like Riley had time-traveled, but Peter couldn't tell which way. Backward, to a time when he was still there, lingering in her subconscious, secretly bringing her joy? Or forward, to a time without him? Which was better? She seemed happy. That was what mattered most.
