Episode 1

Helena watched the little hands on her watch tick as she stood waiting for her date to show up. He was supposed to be there thirty minutes ago. She seemed that waiting a bit longer couldn't hurt considering this is New York, and the traffic is terrible.

The wind started to pick up, and it made her exposed skin shiver, forming newly constructed goosebumps. Her coat had been left in the backseat of her car. Now she realized how stupid that choice was.

Sighing with defeat, as another fifteen minutes passed, she stood up from the uncomfortable metal chair and began to walk away. Not before leaving a ten on the table as a tip. Her heels clicked as she walked past the other busy New Yorkers. It was bustling with people left and right. Some on the way to work while others are going home.

Her car wasn't far away as she started to riffle through her back pocket for her keys. As she did this, she heard the squeal of tires and a shriek from a distressed woman crying out. "Danny!" The woman screamed out. Lenna looked up as she saw a kid trying to catch his balloon. Unsuspecting the bus full of passengers driving right at the poor kid. It was a moment in time where everything slowed down.

The spot where Helena had stood was now empty as she sped her way to the kid—grabbing him and the balloon as she looked up. The bus drivers facial expression was concerned as well as upset. He didn't want to hit the kid. Lenna took the last remaining time to cross the street with the kid standing next to the mother. Time picked back up at an average pace.

The mother crying but soon stopped as the bus came to a halt. Hitting the spot where the kid had been previously. The mother was worried as she looked around and saw the new Hero of New York with her son by her side. "Oh my god, Danny!" She cried out as the boy ran into her arms his balloon long forgotten. His cries were loud, and everyone who had witnessed what happened cheered once they knew the boy was safe and out of harm's way.

They were cheering the Hero who saved an innocent boy. The mother looked up with tears in her eyes and a huge smile. "Thank you so much. I'm glad you were here." Helena smiled at her then bows her head down slightly giving her the balloon still in hand. People started to pull their phones out as they recorded what was happening—already hitting a million viewers in just a few seconds. The bus driver was apologizing profusely. Worried he was going to kill the poor boy.

Helena was about to walk away when she felt something collide with her legs. She gazed down to see the little boy looking up at her brown eyes. He was happy. "Thank you, Miss. Nova." He spoke up as he hugged her legs. Helena smiled, bending down to his height, hugging the boy. Everyone aw's were heard. They both let go, and she pats him on the head.

"Be sure to look both ways before crossing the street without a parent. Okay?" The boy nods in understanding. Then salutes her as he smiled with small, now drying, tears in his eyes. She salutes him back and then falls off to avoid unsuspecting fans to her apartment roof. She needed to stay low. Her car will be picked up the next day for now. She was going to get undress and get comfortable on her couch.

She opened the door to her apartment and walked in closing, and locking it behind her. Then proceeded to take her leather jacket off along with her shoes. Helena sighs as her feet started to ache. Lenna gazed around the room, seeing everything still in place just as she left it. TV on the right with an off white entertainment centre. Her consoles all perfectly aligned on each shelf.

The tan-coloured couch and love seat just opposite of that. Then next to them is the dining room. Near the giant window that overlooks the city. Keeping an eye out on what is going on. On the left side of her was the hallway leading down three doors. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It was a small apartment, but she loved it. It was quirky. Also bright.

Helena walked over to the TV remote and switched it on. The news had appeared as she began taking her shirt off. "Just a few minutes ago, The Hero known as Captain Nova, had appeared today. Saving a young boy and a bus full of passengers from a horrible fate." Helena sighed again as she looked at the tv. Shirt in hand. "Reports say she was out on the town when she witnessed the scene and took action. Grabbing young Danny Foster from colliding with the bus almost causing a wreck." The camera then switched to a man. The same very man who was supposed to be her tinder date." Yeah, it was epic. My girlfriend always ceases to amaze me." Girlfriend? Hell no, buddy. And it seems not even the news believes his dumb ass.

Helena rolled her eyes as she went to her bedroom, throwing her shirt in the dirty hamper. Then she grabbed her pants and placed them in there as well. Sliding on her slippers, she ran a hand through her dark blue hair, walking out of the room. That was when she heard Homelander on tv.

This, piqued her interest as she watched the reporters ask him questions about her. "Homelander! What do you think about this new Hero in town? It seems that she has all the powers you do. Do you feel threatened or feel the need to team up with her?" Homelander smiled his fake smile as usual and scoffed a bit. He puts his hand on the reporter's shoulder, squeezing it.

"No, I don't feel threatened by her in any way. As for her powers, we don't truly know if she has all the same as I do." He chuckled as if he was nervous. No one should have the same power as him except his son. "I also think it's good for another hero to come out in the open to help with things. We can't always be there. So it's good to have backup options." He says smirking at the camera.

Helen's eyes widened a bit and then scoffed. "Backup options? Fuck you too, buddy." She muttered switching the channels till she found Rick and Morty. She sat down on her couch and pulled the blanket over her body. Sinking into it as he phone rings. The spice girls song began. "Wannabe She rolled her eyes an answered knowing it was her friend who had called. "Helena, speaking." Her monotone voice spoke.

"Oh my god! Did you see the news!? Homelander spoke about you!" Katherine, her best friend since kindergarten. Put glue into each others hair and were friends ever since. "He said it's good for you to be helping out!" She spoke at a fast pace. Helena closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Yeah and he also said I was backup options." She said as she started to pick at the blanket. Trying to distract her from burning Homelander's eyes out. "Besides, I thought you said you hate watching the news, Kit?"

"Oh. I do. But when Homelander is on. I can't help but drool." She giggled as she said it. "Besides. You always care what Homelander says about you. You're his biggest fan."

Helena scoffed and yanked her blanket closer. "Used to be his biggest fan. That was until I learned he's an asshole." Katherine stopped chew her gum as it was silent for a second. Her boss must be nearby. "You should be working, Kit. I'll talk to you later. Love you. Bye." Lenna spoke fast before she could say anything. Just as she was getting comfortable again, her stomach growled in anger. "Come on." she moaned out.

She was supposed to eat with her tinder date, but he stood her up. Until he was around the cameras, that was. Lenna stood up and started to order from her favourite Chinese food place. She was ordering almost a whole meal for three. Since she was little, her appetite has been high. Lenna was always hungry.

Once that was done, she had stood up to grab some dishes. Just as she pulled a plate down, her phone had rung. Helana had turned her attention to the cell and saws it was an unknown number. Shrugging she ignored it letting it go to voicemail. Then it began again. Lenna huffed out in annoyance as she stalked over snatching the phone off the table. She answered.

"Hello?" By the tone of her voice, the person could tell she wasn't happy. They were hesitant even to say something back.

"Um, hi. Is this Helena Carter?" The voice was shaky, and Lenna didn't know why she had been so intimidating to this poor woman. "I'm calling for a job position." Helena rolled her eyes. She keeps forgetting to shut off those emails from job sites.

"I already have a job; thank you for calling. Have a wonderful-" a nervous laugh cut her off.

"No as a Supe." The lady spoke. "How rude of me. My names Ashley, I work with Vought industries. We require a new hero to join the seven. If you're interested, we would like for you to come in to talk to Miss. Stillwell." At first, she was shocked that this was offered to her and she pulled the phone back to see who's number it was.

"I-" Helena didn't know what to say for once in her life. She wanted to join since she was a kid, but she remembered her mom wouldn't let her. Her mother said she would never be a hero, and here she was. "What time?" Lenna asked as she cleared her throat.

"How about tomorrow at-" She paused for a moment. "At twelve-thirty?" Helana rushed to grab a pen and paper and began writing the date and time.

"That's perfect. I'll see you tomorrow at twelve-thirty." Helena had to hold her excitement back. She had the itch to call Kit and tell her everything, but she knew she had to wait.

"Sweet. Alright, I made you your appointment. You don't need the address, do you?"

"Oh, goodness, no. Who doesn't know where vought is? Thank you so much." Ashley sounded a lot happier and said her goodbyes. Just in time for Helena's doorbell to ring. She had forgotten she had food. Helena couldn't keep in her excitement that she couldn't sleep. But she was ready the next day. This was her shot to be a big-time hero. Something she wanted for a while. She was going to prove her mom wrong.
