Eye witness

Jack stayed silent, staring at his hands. The hospital bed was cold, just like the tension between him and his doctor. Did they really think he committed suicide? The only evidence he didn't commit such a distressed action was his father's own bare hands. Tainted with bloody memories, Jack shivered.

"Jack, how are you?" His doctor was cautious. His name was Felix, Jack believes.

Jack remained isolated from such social interaction, now shifting his eyes towards the window.

Felix turned his head, and smiled softly. "Ah, the window. It's snowing." Felix's eyes shined brightly. Jack's gaze stayed on the window, which began to fog up.

"....open." His voice was quiet.

"H-Huh?" Felix asked, surprised he spoke. "Open? The window?" He asked.

Jack's nod was slow.

Felix hesitantly got up, and slowly walked towards the window. As if he was waiting for Jack to say 'never mind' or something. He did no such thing. Felix's hand crept towards the window, then he forced the glass to slide upwards. A huge cold chill slapped Felix's face. So.. cold.

Jack stared out the window. So much white. "You okay now?" Felix asked, keeping his bright smile. Felix sat down, after pulling up a chair.

"I was wondering, but is it okay if we do a checkup?" Felix asked, getting ready to stand up. Jack stared at him.

"So, how's the kid?" Mark asked, smiling. Felix shut the door softly, and sighed.

"He's sleeping right now. Quiet kid, y'know. Barely spoke. The only topic he spoke about, which was barely, was opening the window." Felix explained.

"The window? Isn't it cold?" Mark asked.

"Yeah. Really cold. It was hard to keep a warm smile, when my lips kept shivering." Felix chuckled.

Mark stood, thinking for a moment. "Hey, how about you take care of Adam tomorrow, and I'll take care of Jack. Just for a day. I feel like you'll be a good change for him." Mark smiled.

"Really? Sure." Felix shrugged.

"Just don't do anything stupid." Mark patted Felix's shoulder.
