I
Thump, thump, thump.
Steve yawned. Was someone really knocking on his door this late?
Thump, thump, thump.
"Coming!" Steve called. Rubbing his eyes, he pulled on a robe, and shuffled to the door of his apartment.
Standing at the door were two very official-looking characters. They each wore a black suit, black sunglasses (in the middle of the night?), and grim expressions.
Steve blinked. What were two agents of the game police doing in this game?
"How can I help you?" Steve asked.
"We're looking for a Dill Dollin," said the agent on the right. "We've heard reports of level crossing, and we're here to take him into custody."
Steve shook his head. "Dill Dollin?" He asked. "You've got the right level, but the wrong room. He's two doors down."
"Thank you, sir," said the second agent, and off they went.
Steve closed the door. "Serves him right for crossing over into a different level," he muttred. "If those agents hadn't come knocking just now, we might have been taken into maintenance! And Programmer only knows what they do to glitched characters like Dill."
Shuffling back into his bedroom, Steve got back into bed, not even bothering to think about the trouble that one Dill Dollin would be getting into.

Dill looked through the peephole. As a shorter person, Dill hated where the peephole was, because it meant that he had to stand on his tiptoes.
"I'm not coming out!" He yelled at the agents, crossing his arms. "There's nothing wrong with visiting another level from time to time."
"Mr. Dollin, be reasonable," the first agent said. "This is an offence punishable by the fullest extent of the law."
Dill rolled his eyes, even though the agents couldn't see him. "What'll you do if I refuse to come quietly?"
"Then we'll knock you out, and stuff your head in a bag 'till we get out of this level," growled the second agent.
Dill laughed. "There's a door in your way, gentlemen! How'll you get past that?"
"Easy," said agent 1. "We break it down."
Dill froze. He hadn't thought of that.
"Alright, fine," he said, undoing the locks on the door. "But at least I tried. There's no way to win here."
"Great," said agent 2, unclipping a pair of handcuffs from his belt. "I didn't really want to bust down a door tonight."
Dill opened the door, and agent 2 slapped the handcuffs onto his wrists.
