Chapter 38

Chapter 38

“What?” I became dumb for a moment.

“I liked him back then. I mean I was immature of course we were kids and I—”

“I know Grayson? How?” I cut her off, still confused.

She looked at me with confusion.

“He’s—”

“Alessia!” It was Lia’s voice from behind.

I turned to her and she was running towards my direction.

“Why?” I asked Lia.

She looked at me but it shifted to the person beside me.

“Oh you’re here, Herra. They’re at the swimming pool. Go join them.” She smiled.

“What do you want to talk about?” I asked.

“About Grayson.” She sat beside me.

Herra stood.

“I’ll go. It looks like you have a talk in private.”

“Thanks, Herra.”

Minutes later, she left.

“What about Grayson?” I asked.

“Did he talk about his dad?”

I gave it a thought.

“Once. And it was because he reminded my actions of his dad. Why?”

She sighed.

“He told Grandpa that his dad will like you.”

“What’s wrong with that?”

She shook her head and heaved a sigh.

“I’ll see if it’s something serious.” She looks like in serious trouble.

My brows furrowed out of confusion.

“Why would it be serious?”

“He got involved in an accident years ago.” She sighed.

That gave me collision.

“What accident?”

She smiled and looked at the sky.

“I’m not in the position to say that.”

I stared at her for a few seconds.

“How close are you with Grayson?” My voice sounded like I’m jealous of the fact that she knew him well.

I am, I guess.

“Hmm. I remember when I was a child, watching cartoon movie, suddenly, there are a lots of rocks falling from the air outside.” She suddenly started babbling a story.

My brows furrowed mpre because she’s obviously changing the topic.

“So I went outside then walla, I was  fascinated by the jewelries on the ground located on our front yard.” She continued.

What?

“I went out and there I saw a boy younger than me, throwing jewelries on our yard.”

Wait. . .

“But then suddenly, I got shock. Do you know why?” She looked at me.

I shook my head.

“Because he looks like my brother!” She laughed.

My jaw dropped.

“Wait. Are you—”

“I’m the twins’ stepsister.” She shrugged.

“You have different. . . father?” I asked in full daze.

Lia nodded.

“I was the unwanted. I’m the eldest but mom left me to my father. I was abused there and I didn’t feel any love from him. He hates me because I remind him of my mom.”

I was speechless because she’s opening up!

“Then years later, mom came back home— or not home, maybe hell. I don’t know if she came back because dad died out of cancer or because she was forced to. . . And she’s with a young boy which is my brother. And that was Aiden.”

“So you didn’t know that they were twins?”

She nodded.

“We were poor. Mom had no work and the only sustain left was from Grandpa, the grandpa you met, is what gave us a living.”

I became attentive. I listened carefully while she was staring at the sky.

“I hate mom.” She suddenly said.

“Because she doesn’t like you?”

“No. Because she has a lots of boys. I think that was her only way to forget the twins’ father. To date men.”

“Why. . . why is Grayson not with you?” I asked in careful manner.

“He stayed with their father. I don’t know the reason why Aiden stayed with mom. Mom’s a wreck. She’s hot-tempered and sharp-tongue.”

I sighed. I didn’t know she had such a family background.

“What are you two talking about?” Grayson’s voice from the back that made me shriek.

He sat beside me.

“You did not backstab me, Alia Keyn Caddel, didn’t you?” He assumed.

“Whatever, Mr. Grayson Drake Alonzo. I’ll go now.” She stood.

They have different surnames.

It was a moment of silence after Lia left.

“Why didn’t you let them know that Lia and you are both related?” I asked him.

He sighed in relieve.

“She doesn’t want to be treated differently just because of our relationship. She wants to be known for her capabilities not because of her connection.”

“The Grandma in the hospital. Is she her grandma too?”

“No. She’s my stepmom’s mom. She’s not related to Aiden nor Lia because I was with her ever since I was nine years old.”

I nodded when I started to understand their situation.

“Even though we’re not related by blood, I love her more than mom.” He laughed.

“Why?”

“Maybe because I didn’t get to feel the mother’s love that long?”

I stared at him.

It was a moment of silence.

“Why did you suddenly appear in my life?” I asked.

He stared at my eyes.

“Because I want to save you from drowning in your own world.”

I wish you’re not lying.

“Liar.”

My eyes shifted to the woman behind Grayson. It was Rhiana who said those words with resentment, her fist was clenching tight.

Grayson stood as well as I did.

“That was not your goal. Your goal was to get revenge and break the woman who used your father’s money.” She uttered with so much resentment.

He turned to her while I was behind him.

“Rhiana, you’re tired. Let’s get you—”

“You hated her because her father was using your father for money and you hated her mother because she—”

“Rhiana!”

“What? That was your main goal! We both had a goal in breaking her heart but you fell for her!”

“That was years ago, Rhiana. I didn’t continue the plan and you didn’t ask me to do it.” He put emphasis on his every word.

I scoffed.

“So you’re admitting the fact that you had a plan in breaking my heart?” I asked in disbelief.

He turned to me and shook his head.

“I didn’t conti—”

“Then tell me why did you suddenly appear the moment you and Rhiana broke up? To continue the plan on your own?” I cut him off as I could slowly feel my world crumbling.

He sighed and his eyes were looking for an answer.

“That was only in the beginning but when I disco—”

“You said you want to help her heal and break her heart the moment she heal for her to suffer again!” Rhiana cut him off.

“Rhiana!”

“What? That was true! You weren’t over me even when I cheated! You still love me and I still do! For the first four months of visiting her in her dissociation mode you said to me that you’re planning to break her heart after helping her heal!”

That struck me hard.

“Fuck!” He cursed loud and looked at me with his repentant eyes.

My lips parted as I stare at his blue eyes, confirming all Rhiana’s words.

“So I let you visit her for four months! At first I was not into the plan of you letting her live with you but I trusted the fact that you still love me!” Every words of Rhiana was like a knife shattering my heart into pieces.

“Rhiana stop! I was over you the moment I let her live with me!”

“No! You probably wanted to sleep with her!”

That was the cue that I should really leave. It was painful hearing those words from her so I turned my back on them and half-run my way towards nothingness, just away from the two.

“Fuck!”

He chased over me and grabbed my arm.

I looked at him with my stoic face.

“Look, that was at fir—”

“What if you didn’t fall for me? What if you didn’t pity me? What will you do? I’m sure you’ll break my heart, right? Yes, I’m lucky that you fell. Maybe because of my face? Or my body that you fell for?” I asked using my sarcastic tone.

“No! believe me—”

I slapped him. Real Hard. My palms even hurt.

He didn’t even flinched. It was as if he was expecting it.

“What if I was another woman? What if you’ll have the revenge for another woman? Then you’ll probably break her heart! What a huge red flag!”

I stole my hands off him and hastened my steps away from the pain.

I know I was already in great distance but still, I kept on walking until someone grabbed my arms.

“Don’t go to the dim part. It’s already night.” It was Aiden’s voice.

I have no energy left to ask him why is he here. Instead, I let him hug me because that’s what I needed in this moment.

“I can’t believe I loved a woman who hurt my friend.” He sighed.

So he’s here for Rhiana.

I couldn’t cry. I just let myself rest in his arms. It was painful, but my eyes couldn’t produce any product of ache as if it was telling me that the pain was nothing compared to what I felt for the past years.

“Let’s go back for dinner. Grandpa’s waiting for all of us to have a dinner with him.”

I nodded and in silence, I let him pull me.

My phone kept on ringing so I decided to turn it off until we reach the house.

It was clamorous even when we’re still outside. Jason’s shout of complain, Lia and Andra’s laugh, Haley’s fuming words, Mom’s talk, it was an evident that everything’s still fine and normal.

I heaved a sigh before both of us entered the house. They were on the kitchen so we walked our way there.

“Oh, here are the two missing people.” Grandma was the first one to notice our present.

Lia’s laugh dissipated.

“Aiden?” Lia asked, shock.

“Why? Are you disappointed to see me?”

Grayson immediately stood and removed the bag off the chair beside him. He was looking at me when he motioned me to sit.

But I didn’t. Instead, I sat beside Andra, and Lia was in between me and Grayson.

Jason and Haley laughed in a mocking tone.

Aiden laughed too and sat on the sit that was meant for me.

“Thanks for saving it for me, bro.”

Rhiana was present. She’s in front of me and beside her was Grandpa.

“Okay, everyone. Quiet and let’s pray.” It was Grandma, seated on the capital chair.

Everyone became quiet. They closed their eyes so I closed mine too.

Grandma prayed and after her last words, we all opened our eyes and they started to grab food for themselves.

“Here.” Grayson gave me his plate and he was having a hard time reaching it to me because Aiden and Lia were in between.

But I didn’t mind his plate and grabbed a food for my own.

Lia, Aiden, and Haley who witnessed it laughed while Jason on the other hand, didn’t notice it because he was too busy with the food.

“La, gave her sinigang, please. She like it.” Grayson told her Grandma and pointed me.

“Oh sure, my baby.”

Everyone was quiet. We watch her put a soup on the bowl, others were waiting for their turn.

She stood and gave me a bowl of sinigang. I smiled so she was mesmerized at first but she smiled too.

“Maganda, right?” Grayson asked her Grandma.

“Yes! She’s as beautiful as me when I was a teenager! If only I was not picky with my suitors back then, then I would probably have a beautiful daughter like her!” She laughed.

They all laughed in awkwardness but it dissipated when her teeth— dentures— fell to the bowl of soup she was holding because of her laugh.

It was a moment of silence.

Andra looked down to stifle her laugh and I could hear Jason’s stifling his giggle while Haley was looking up to distract herself.

“Oh goodness.” She grabbed the dentures from the soup and gave me the soup that has a saliva on it.

Grandpa who was quiet laughed hard because of that.

And that was the cue that Jason laughed too, it got followed by Haley and Herra who couldn’t stifle their laugh.

But their laughs dissipated when Grandpa farted loud.

It was another moment of silence.

But Grandpa’s fart didn’t stop there, it got followed by consecutive bombs and the last one was a huge blow.

The indescribable stingy smell then wondered around the corners of the place, living a big trace to our foods.

We all covered our nose, even Grandma covered her nose.

Except for Grayson beside me who didn’t even cover his nose, he might be worried that Grandpa might get offended if he did.

“Maryosep. I think I pooped. I felt a sticky thing on my butt.” Grandpa confessed.

I heard their loud gulps and stifle gasps.

Grayson stood.

“Let’s go to the bathroom. I’ll clean you.” He went near him while Grandpa stood in a slow pace.

Grandpa held Grayson’s hand and in a limping and slow walk of Grandpa, they head their way out of the kitchen. I avoided my gaze after seeing Grandpa’s wet butt.

It was an awkward silence.

Rhiana stood.

“I’ll help him clean Grandpa.” She informed Grandma.

Grandma smile at her and nodded.

“Why don’t you all go to the resort’s buffet? Don’t worry, I understand if you’re not in the mood to eat.” Grandma smiled.

Lia uttered a foreign word and Grandma too. She nodded and stood.

“Let’s go.”

We all did our apologies but she just smiled and said that the food will be serve for the maids. Lia guided us towards the resort and our own rooms. Mom and Andra stayed in the house and informed us that they will be sleeping with Grandma. It looks like they become that close towards each other.

I changed my clothes to the clothes we brought earlier because Lia informed us that we’ll go to the buffet and have a swim after.

Now I’m wearing a backless white chiffon long dress summer spaghetti strap with a white bikini inside it.

“Ohh. Sexy.” Lia commented after seeing me.

They’re already seated on the chairs with a big table and foods on it outside the buffet. There were a lot of people eating outside and talking, some foreign men were glancing at me but I shrugged it off and sat beside Herra.

“Grayson’s here.” Lia announced.

I didn’t even glance a second, my eyes remained on the food.

“You washed yourself?” Haley asked. “You look hot and fresh by the way.” She glanced at me, trying to tempt me to look at him.

“I washed myself too.” Jason said.

I stood.

“I’m not in the mood to eat. I think I’ll swim to freshen my mind.” I informed them.

Jason whistled.

“Good luck.” I don’t know who he’s talking to.

Nevertheless, I turned my back on them and decided to head my way towards the swimming pool area.

Some men were calling me but I didn’t mind them.

I removed my dress off my body and drip my whole body to the pool. I’m not alone in the area, some were talking and having fun but I minded my own world, contemplating about the thing I just discovered although I noticed someone’s gaze, following my every move.

“Hey, wanna have some fun?” A stranger wrapped his arms around my waist the moment went out from the pool.

“I have a boyfriend.” I removed his hands off me.

I grabbed my dress and went to the shower room. The shower room was empty so I head my way towards the one empty room and was about to close the door when one familiar hand made it stop.

“Talk to me.” It was Grayson.

He’s wearing a muscle tee and broad shorts.

I sighed and turned my back on him. Without minding his presence, I turned the shower on, closed my eyes and let the water invade my body. It was peaceful really, if I don’t have to think about his presence behind me.

But the peacefulness I felt disappeared the moment he grabbed my arm to face him and without any warning, his lips crashed against mine.

My hands pushed him away but he was strong that he pinned both my hands on the wall while his lips was savoring mine, It was a month of not kissing him and I must admit that I missed the taste of his lips.

So I kissed him back. Deeper.

With waters gushing down both our bodies, we savored each other lips. He let go of my hand so I wrapped my arms around his nape and tilted my head to kiss him more while his hands were on my bare back gliding up and down.

I closed the small gap between our body and there, I could feel his arousing manhood and even when my body’s wet with water, I could feel mine too.

Everything was getting hot not not until—

“Live porn!”

I instantly pushed Grayson away from me after hearing Jason’s shout.

“Oh my god. What did my eyes  saw just now?” Haley asked in such an exasperated manner.

“So you’re back again. I was worried if something bad might happen to Alessia and my hunch was right.” It was Lia.

“Oh. Did we broke up?” Grayson mimicked me.

I glared at him but he gave me a smirk.

“Go change.” Lia said.

“Jason! Your eyes!” Grayson warned.

“I’m a man too, bro! But since your eyes are now in their perilous stage, I won’t look!” He turned his back on us.

“I don’t have a towel.” I said to Grayson.

In a swift manner, he removed his muscle tee.

“Oh! It’s hot here!” Haley exclaimed.

“Haley! Your eyes!” Jason warned.

Grayson dressed me with his muscle tee and grabbed my dress that was on the towel holder.

“I’ll drop you to your hotel room.” He smirked.

I glared at him.

Lia tsk-ed but Grayson didn’t mind her and pulled me out there.

“Marupok.” She murmured and I couldn't understand the word.

She was just following us when Grayson stopped as well as Lia did.

My heart skipped a bit after meeting the eyes of the familiar woman.

But my heart went into its ferocious stage after hearing what Lia uttered beside me.

“Mom. . .”

Did I hear it right? She just called her mom. Don’t tell me. . .

The woman looked at Grayson’s eyes.

“Son. . .”

I look at Grayson in shock but he was indifferent. That's when I confirmed that . . .

While I was watching my father kiss his mistress seven years ago. . .

He was also there . . . watching his own mother kiss a married man.
