Chapter 27
Chapter 27
“Wow. . .” That’s all I can say.
He chuckled.
“Why, Ms. Oh shit? Shock? Well, we must be destined to each other. Fate they say.”
“You’re a stalker, are you?” I narrowed my eyes.
His smile faded.
“What? Me? Stalker? This face?” He pointed his own face as if he cannot believe what he just heard. “I even got you for only days! Do you know that?”
“Days? As if.” I scoffed.
“I counted it, Ms. Oh shit.” He smirked.
“Stop calling me, Ms. Oh shit.” I rolled my eyes.
He chuckled before moving near me.
“Okay, my baby.” He wrapped his arms around my waist.
I leaned my head on his shoulder and watched the sunset on the sky. With him, I felt at peace again.
“When will you come back home? I miss you.” He kissed my head.
“I won’t live with you anymore. We should not live together unless we’re already married. I don’t want to end up like mom and dad. They didn’t even get married and maybe that’s the reason why they both didn’t have strong commitment with each other.”
“Maybe they didn’t really love each other because if you really love someone, no matter what relationship you have with them, you’ll forever be committed with that person. Or. . . their love for each other isn’t that strong to last.”
“Maybe it’s the latter, in dad’s case.” I sighed. “His love wasn't that strong to last that he ended up dismantling mom’s boundaries. The love turned into obsession, and that emotion turned him into a criminal.”
He grabbed my hand and intertwined it. I became quiet as I watch the sunset leaving beautiful traces of goodbye and even though he was quiet too, his body says the otherwise— he kept on moving and clinging as if we’re not already close so I can’t help but to smile.
“By the way, if you’re the guy from seven years ago then why do you have to cover your face?”
He didn’t respond so I looked at him but he avoided my gaze.
“It would be nice for picnic.” He changed the topic.
“Are you hiding something? And I’m confuse by your sudden appearance that time.”
His Adams apple bobbed and the way he gaze at me, he seems anxious and nervous.
He cleared his throat.
“I’ll cook dinner tonight. Am I allowed to go in your condo?” He changed the topic again.
I sighed.
It looks like, he doesn’t want me to know.
He has secrets.
And that piqued my curiosity.
“I’ll sleep in your condo tonight. Am I allowed?” I asked back.
Well, I want to know more about him.
“What about Andra?”
“I’ll cook her a dinner then afterwards, I’ll go to you.”
He squinted his eyes on me as if he’s trying to read something from my eyes.
“Are you sleeping well on bed?” His tone was low.
I sighed and avoided his gaze.
“I didn’t get to sleep well. I was busy handling mom’s funeral so I always sleep on the floor with Andra. She won’t sleep on bed so I’ll sleep with her and when she saw me sleeping on the floor, she’ll transfer to bed. Which I want to happen.”
He sighed loud.
“You don’t have another bed? Do you two share the same bed?”
I nodded.
“Well, I never did sleep on bed so one is enough for mom and her.”
“I’ll order one bed for you.” He said.
I glared at him.
“Okay, I’ll renovate your unit with another room.” He suggested again.
My glare didn’t flinch.
“Then I’ll buy a condo for both of you with two rooms.”
“What are you? Sugar daddy? No need.” I shook my head in disapproval.
“Well I’m willing to buy a chocolate factory for you. I guess I am?” He laughed.
“Chocolate factory is not bad.” I nodded to tease him.
I’m definitely sure he won’t buy it!
“Give me 5— let’s make it 4. Give me 4 years, I’ll buy you a chocolate factory.” He wasn’t kidding.
I laughed.
“You’re too serious! No need. Goya’s enough.”
He shrugged but he didn’t utter any words.
I shook my head in disbelief but still, I was smiling with the thought of what he just said.
“What do I do now? I’m jealous of a chocolate.” He wrapped his arms around my shoulder.
I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder again.
“Well you have your own chocolate.” I bantered and flicked his stomach. “It’s hard.” I added and laughed.
“1 goya has 8 pieces right? Well I have too.” He laughed.
“Yeah, 8 pieces.” My hands glided his stomach up and down.
His laugh stopped along with his gulp that I heard so I smirked.
“Wonder how it taste like,” I added, teasing him.
“Bi-birds. . . Wow, they can fly.” He stuttered when he changed the topic.
“Hmm. Thinking of it, you’re the only one who was able to taste me.” I said with a smirk.
“S-sky. . . Wow, they can— I mean good. They are— I mean the s-sky is so go-good.”
Oh, I’m enjoying this.
“Tonight. I wonder what will my hands do. Well, can I sleep with you?”
He gasped.
“I thought you’re innocent.” He whispered.
I removed my head off him and look at him with a smirk.
“You’re the one who took it right?”
His ears became red.
I laughed.
But it faded when he captured my chin and without any warning, he brushed his lips against mine.
“Okay lovebirds—”
I pushed Grayson with full of force after hearing Jayson’s voice.
“Shit. Grayson!”
But it was too late because his body is already rolling down from the small hill.
Roll and roll while he was groaning because his body cannot stop from rolling down. I must've pushed him hard!
He looks like a rolling pin, to be honest.
Finally, he stopped.
Jason laughed hard after seeing Grayson’s face, he was even holding his stomach while laughing.
But karma is faster than Grayson’s roll because he tripped from the stone and accidentally—
He hit Grayson’s lips with his!
They kissed!
With both wide eyes, Jason on Grayson’s top immediately stood.
“Fuck! My first kiss! You stole my first kiss!”
“Fuck you, Jason!”
I laughed hard followed by Lia and Haley’s laugh from the background after witnessing the incident.
Their ears were both red because of embarrassment. Grayson who’s glaring at Jason with his perilous eyes, while Jason who’s staring at nothingness with disbelief face because a boy stole his first kiss.
“Your first kiss is your Grumpson!” Haley teased Jason.
I was laughing when I went near Grayson to lend him a hand.
His face was grouchy but still, he gave me his hand and stood.
“How was the kiss?” I teased, still laughing.
But my laugh halted out of shock when he gave me a fast peck on my lips.
“The kiss was soft and good.” He smirked.
The laughs scatted.
“You’re a killjoy, Mr. Grayson. We were laughing a while ago and now you’re making us jealous.” It was Lia.
“Have some respect for singles!” Haley complained, mad again.
“Yeah, yeah.” He wrapped his arms around my shoulder.
“Oh you two. You’re flirting with my daughter in front of her mom. Is that okay?” It was mom who’s just behind us.
I bit my lower lip and looked at Grayson.
Mom went in front us while the three stepped backward.
“Mom, she’s pretty like you. I can’t help but to flirt.” He managed to coax mom into smiling!
My jaw dropped at his guts.
He’s definitely trying to win my mom with his sugar-coated words!
“Is that so?” She raised her brow. “But she’s my only daughter so I can’t give her to you easily.”
He coughed along with Lia.
I looked at Lia, confused, but she avoided my gaze and pretended to talk to Haley who seems confuse too.
He cleared his throat.
“You want granddaughter, mom? I can give you. Probably she’ll look like you.” He smirked.
I spanked his stomach and left them out of embarrassment.
My feet stopped walking when I reached the street and immediately raised my hand for the upcoming taxi to stop.
My phone rang the moment I entered the cab.
I shoved my hand inside my pocket after saying the address to the cab driver and looked at the screen name.
My handsome bf ♡
What the— Who changed the nickname?!
I answered the call and put the phone on my ears.
“You changed the nickname on my phone?” I accused him with my calm voice.
He sighed on the line.
“Yeah. Why would you put my nickname as ‘Grumpson’ instead of your boyfriend, not good.” His voice was wanting to be wooed.
I bit my lower lip to stifle a smile.
“Anyways. Tell mom that I’ll go back home to cook dinner for Andra. I want to be alone with my sister so you can all leave. And. . .” I sighed as I cannot utter any word to connect the sentence.
“My baby said thank you for today. You can all go!” I heard him shout on the line.
“Alessia’a going?” It was mom on the line.
“Yes, mom. You wanna date?” He laughed. She laughed too.
“Actually, I have a meeting to attend. I’ll go, son. Tell my daughter to take care. I’ll message her later.”
“Yes mom!” He shouted with full of enthusiasm.
“He’s just trying to win you, Aunt. Don’t let him marry your daughter. He poop a lot—”
“Lia!”
“Right! He poop a lot last week!” Jason laughed.
They all laughed on the line including mom.
Except Grayson on the line.
I can’t help but to smile just by thinking of his face.
“I’m going.” It was mom bidding her farewell.
“You heard anything?” He asked me on the line.
I laughed.
“You poop a lot last week?” I teased.
“Your fault!” He accused Lia who just laughed on the line.
“By the way, Grayson. Can I borrow your phone later?” I asked with a smile.
“Grayson. . .” He sighed.
I smiled and didn't say anything.
“Of course, my baby. Why?” He asked after a minute of silence.
“Just curious.” I leaned my head against the car window and looked at the huge building from the outside.
“Curious of what?”
About your family. Or past. Just everything about things related to you.
I know you’re hiding a lot from me.
“You still there?” He asked.
“Yeah. . .”
“You’re going tonight?”
I closed my eyes and chuckled.
For the past week of being busy with mom’s funeral, even when he was busy too, he never did leave my side. I don’t even know if I was able to talk to him properly, only now that mom’s funeral is already done.
“Yeah. I’ll sleep with you tonight. I yearned sleeping in your arms.”
“Grumpson’s smiling wide! His ears are red!” Jason shouted on the line.
I bit my lower lip after hearing that. I even imagine his face right at the moment.
“I miss you too, my baby.” His voice was soft.
“Eww, Mr. Grayson. Cringe.” It was Lia.
“Find me a man like you, Grayson. If you want me my side.” Haley’s voice.
Even if I don’t have enough interaction with them, for a while, I felt like a friend to them.
Especially when the time I was distress about my mother’s death. They were there, making jokes, doing stupid things, and making fun of Grayson in order to make me smile.
With a smile on my face, I head in my condo.
“Andra, your sister’s home.”
I heard the lock of the door from our room.
I sighed and went to the kitchen to cook something.
“Andra, I’ll cool chicken fillet, your favorite food. Wanna see me cook?” I shouted.
No one responded.
I sighed once again before cooking her favorite food.
I’m already finish but she still stayed in our room.
I knocked the door.
“Andra? Dinner’s ready.” I said in a soft tone.
“Go away!”
“Eat please.” I pleaded.
“Go eat with your new mom!”
I heaved a sigh.
“Please eat. If you want me to go, I’ll go, so eat your food, okay?”
She didn’t answer.
So I decided to leave.
Even when I want to eat with her. I know she’s not going to eat unless I’m there.
With a failed shoulder, I entered Grayson’s condo.
“Mom, I’m not going to do it. I told you, I have a girlfriend already.” I heard his voice from the kitchen.
I halted to listen more.
“No. I’m not going to break-up with her. If there’s a girl I want to marry, that’s my girlfriend and not her. Don’t be so persistent about it. Why don’t you ask my brother instead of me?” His voice was frustrated.
I leaned my body against the wall.
“I don’t care if she love me. I don’t love her. Tell her I love my girlfriend.”
He sighed loud.
“Don’t use my Grandma. It’s not going to work.” He paused for a while. “What? She’s a grown woman already. Why would she cry?” He tsk-ed.
I slowly stepped my way towards the kitchen but he was oblivious of my presence because his front was facing the refrigerator.
He massaged his temple while the other hand was holding the phone.
“Seriously, mom? I told you I already have a girlfriend. Why would I need to go in her unit? You’re being too bias. Ask Aiden instead of me. I’m not going.” He sighed loud again. “Tell her I don’t care. I love my girlfriend. End. I need to cook. Bye.”
He ended the call and messed his hair out of frustration.
“I miss her.” He whispered and look at his phone.
Her? Who’s her? Rhiana?!
My forehead knotted and I can feel my eyes glaring at his back.
He touched and pressed something on his phone then he put it back on his ears.
My phone rang.
I gulped.
At instant, he turned to me, shock of my presence.
My gaze looked down at my pocket and shove my hands inside it to grab my phone.
My handsome bf ♡
Oh. He’s talking about me.
I answered the call.
“Hey. . .” I greeted on the phone and looked at him.
His eyes squinted on me, still, phone was on his ears.
“When were you here?” He asked on the line.
We look crazy.
But never mind.
“Awhile ago.”
“You heard anything?”
“Maybe?”
He didn’t respond, instead, he stared at me for a long time.
I leaned my back against the island countertop and battled with his stare.
“I miss you too.” I said.
I guess this is the first time I became direct?
For a moment, he became shock.
But it didn’t last long.
He walked his way towards me and immediately removed my phone on my ears, locked me with both his hands, and without any warning, his lips greeted mine.
I closed my eyes and tilted my head to welcome his kiss.
His lips were brushing against mine. It was soft and tender as if he was tasting the sweetness of it.
I wrapped my hands around his neck and tip toed to reach him further. He held my waist and tilted his head to acknowledge my lips more.
Before I could deepen the kiss, he parted his lips off mine.
“What did you say again?” He asked.
I opened my eyes, confused but he was just smiling, waiting for my answer.
“I miss you?” I asked.
He bit his lower lip when his lips cannot help but to smile wide.
“I prefer you being direct. It makes my heart flutter.” He admitted with a smile.
That simple thing?
I can’t help but smile.
“Okay, my love.”
