EIGHTEEN. forever lost
ONE BED.
After everything, one fucking bed.
Olivia rolled her eyes, dropping her bags on the floor nearby the bed and stepped outside.
She wasn't going to be in the room alone with them. Hell no. She rather stand in the pouring, freezing rain than be in the room with them.
So she did.
All she did was stand with her arms crossed over her chest.
The poured heavy over her as she stood there, her eyes closed as she imagined being anywhere else in the world.
Anywhere fucking else.
Meanwhile, Jeremiah stepped out of the room, looking for Conrad and finding him sitting by the vending machine.
He made his way to him slowly, sitting next to him as his brother stared off into the distance.
"We need to talk." Jeremiah muttered.
"I'm too tired to talk."
"That's too fucking bad." He swore, "I know what you're doing. You're acting like a dick to make her feel better." Jeremiah paused, still not looking over at Conrad, "You love her, Con. Admit it."
Conrad sighed, "Yeah. I do."
"Then you need to tell her."
"Why?" He asked, "Maybe she's fallen for you all over again. Maybe that's why she's angry."
"Doesn't feel like it. Not when she doesn't know she still a chance with you." Jeremiah sighed, looking at Conrad, "She deserves to know how you feel. If she... picks you then... I'll let her go. I won't keep up the bullshit. If it was anyone else in the world I'd fight like hell, but I... I think she might be what you need. I won't get in the way of that... not anymore. 'Cause I just want her to be happy and I want you, I want you to be happy, too."
"Me, too." Conrad muttered.
"So you gonna tell her?" He asked, "Look, if you're not gonna do it for yourself... or for her, then just please do it for me."
"Okay."
Jeremiah nodded standing to his feet. He had seen Olivia outside in the rain as he made his way towards Conrad.
He pulled random dollar bills out of his pocket and told Conrad to get whatever looked good out of the vending machine before making his way towards Olivia.
He stood behind the girl, she was soaking wet from the rain and would most likely get sick if she continued to stand out in the rain.
"Olivia." He called, but she didn't move. She stood there, holding her head back as the rain continued to fall on her.
He sighed, nodded to himself before stepping out next to her in the rain.
"We need to talk."
"I don't want to talk to you."
Jeremiah chuckled, looking down at his feet, "You and Connie are just alike."
He turned his head, seeing that she hadn't moved an inch. She didn't laugh, she barely shivered. All she did was stand there and if she dared opened her eyes to look at him, he would only be pictured by a million little raindrops.
"I'm sorry." He apologized, "What happened between Belly and I earlier—"
"Were you lying?" She asked, still looking up, "At the country club. When you said if you had the chance to kiss me and didn't know if you could stop, were you lying?"
Jeremiah sighed, "I wasn't lying. I meant every word I said that night. But it's not just about me, Liv. If you feel something for Conrad, you should tell him. He deserves to know."
Olivia finally lowered her head, opening her eyes and barely looked over at Jeremiah.
"Whatever you decide, Liv, I just want you to be happy. Whether it's with me, with Conrad, or on your own. You deserve that happiness."
The girl nodded, "That's not the problem, Jere. And if you know what the problem is... maybe I just... need to move on."
This, everything about their friendship and their relationship, would never, ever be the same.
She had always relied so heavily on Jeremiah. With friendship and relationship. She always knew that she wanted Jeremiah.
But he, wanted nothing to do with her.
Olivia turned on her feet, making her way back inside the hotel room and seeing Belly sitting on the bed with Conrad sitting at the table.
She grabbed her bag from the floor, water dripping down her body as made her way to the bathroom.
She took a quick shower, throwing some random shirt and shorts on that sat in her bag, and threw Conrad's Brown sweatshirt over the showers bar to let it dry.
Olivia sighed, brushing her wet hair and slowly braiding it into two.
She finally stepped out of the bathroom. The room forever silent as Conrad tosses one of the vending machine sandwiches towards her.
"Uh, fair warning, we have no idea how long those have been in the vending machine, so..."
Olivia furrowed her brows in disgust, looking all over the packaging for a sign of a expiration date, but to no avail.
She sighed, looking up and seeing Conrad hovering over her. She gently handed back the sandwich and made her way over to the bed.
Conrad tossed the sandwich back onto the table, making his way to the closet to grab the extra sheets, "What side do you want?" He asked Jeremiah.
"Uh, I'll take this side. Thanks."
After debating whether or not they could all fit in the bed, the boy ultimately left their decision to sleep on the floor and the girls to take the bed.
After a few hours, Olivia began stirring in her sleep. She tiredly sighed and sat up, looking to her left to see Belly peacefully sleeping.
She carefully crawled out of the bed, careful not to wake anyone around her without realizing that Conrad had been awake below her.
She made her way to the bathroom. She splashed some water on her face to try and calm herself down.
She didn't know where the sudden nerves came from, but they were there and she couldn't sleep with them in her mind.
Olivia looked up, her vision blurred by her lack of glasses. She heavily sighed and turned the lights off in the bathroom before slowly opening the door.
She looked down, seeing Conrad still awake and staring at the wall in front of him.
He didn't bother looking her way until the wall had been blocked by her face. She had laid down in the empty spot next to him. Her hands clasped together as she pressed them against her cheek.
"What's on your mind, Mr. Fisher?" She whispered.
Conrad flickered his eyes down to look at her, "Didn't you hear, Belly?" He asked, "They're are roaches on the floor."
"It's a roach, Conrad." She muttered, "I'm sure you'll kill it for me. Now, what's on your mind?"
Conrad's eyes danced back and forth on Olivia's face, not that she could tell.
"I'm really sorry about earlier—"
"I told you that I'm fine."
"Not about Jeremiah." He corrected, "About what I was doing in the car. I'm sorry."
Olivia sighed, licking her lips, "Was it true? About Jeremiah and Belly kissing in the pool?"
"Yeah... and I should've told you, but I just... I don't know. I'm really sorry."
"Is that why you're up?" She asked, "The guilt building up inside you?" She laughed.
Conrad gave her a soft smile, "No... I, um... the other night, you fell asleep and I... I just..."
"Do you really want to tell me?"
"If I don't I'll regret it."
Conrad looked down. Olivia giving him a small, reassuring smile.
"I just... wanted to thank you for helping me. Even when I pushed you away... you were always there and I don't know what I would've done without you."
He was scared. The idea of love scared him. The idea of being in love was worse.
He didn't want to hurt her anymore than what he'd already had.
And yet, she laid next to him, listening to whatever he had to say.
"It's you and I forever, Fisher." Olivia smiled, "You can never get rid of me."
And he hoped that it was true.
And if he didn't express how he felt about her soon, how he truly felt, he feared that he would lose her forever.
