First Day Back

The group of teenagers cautiously made their way into the school, gripping each other's hands for comfort. See, it was their first day back at school, but that's not what was nerve-wracking for them.

They were the group known as the pregnant teenagers, and it was their first day back in a while. They had all left their babies at home and now had to face the real world... How would it go?

Rachel, Quinn, and Santana thankfully had phys-ed together, so they weren't alone. Finn and Puck were together in history, and Kitty and Tina were suffering in math. Jake, Ryder, and Brittany all had English and Kitty, and Marley had science. Sebastian still went to Dalton but was planning on transferring to McKinley at some point just because it was easier than travelling to Dalton every day. Sam, Jake, and Mike were alone, but they were sure they would do okay. After all, Sam was friendly, Mike didn't talk a lot to anyone, and Jake always had headphones popped in, listening to music.

Rachel, Quinn, and Santana walked into the gym and were immediately greeted by stares and whispers. They could hear what people were saying, but before the gym teacher intervened, Santana took charge.

"Listen up, you whispering gossips," she said, grabbing everyone's attention. "Yes, we got pregnant. Yes, we kept our babies. Is there any reason to whisper about us? No. At some point, most of you will have kids, so don't judge us for having kids a bit early. It may not have been the best choice we've made in our lives, but I for sure know that I would never take it back. Will our kids stop us from being our best selves? No way in hell. I can guess how many of you won't make it to college just because you don't want to, but I know that I plan on going to college whether I have kids or not. I just took a detour in life, and it hasn't been anything but good. If you're going to talk about my friends and me, talk where I can't hear you because I have no interest in hearing about my life, because guess what. I'm living it." Santana finished, crossing her arms and daring anyone to speak.

Quinn smirked at her friend and linked arms with Santana and Rachel as they crossed the gym to get changed in the change room.

Santana pulled on her gym shorts as she checked her phone. So far, she hadn't gotten any texts from her mom, which meant Nicholas and Hudson were okay. Quinn quickly put on her t-shirt she usually wore for gym class and then said to Santana, "San, you are such a queen, standing up to those girls like that."

Santana grinned, saying what she had said felt good. "It felt good," she said, voicing her thoughts.

"I bet," Rachel commented, tucking her phone in her shorts pocket. She always had it on her now that she was back and school and either Shelby, her dads, or Carole was watching Jason.

"Are we ready?" Quinn asked, standing up from tying her shoe-laces.

"Absolutely. Let's go kick butt, ladies," Santana said.

Kitty and Tina sat through a boring math class, and thankfully nothing interesting happened to them. However, Jacob Ben Israel was the cause of the first problem... and the root of the others.

"So," he said to Finn and Puck. They were all in the same history class, which was quite unfortunate for Finn and Puck because Jacob Ben Israel could be quite nosy when he wanted to be. "Is it true that like Quinn and Rachel have great bodies now? I heard that teen moms' bodies bounce right back after birth, ya know like they could still be on the Cheerios."

Finn's nostrils flared, and Puck visibly reddened in the face. "Dude, just stop talking," Finn said with a hint of anger in his voice, although he was the calmer of the two at the moment.

"I mean, would Quinn and Rachel and all the rest of 'em not being pregnant mean they're free?" Jacob Ben Israel asked, apparently not hearing Finn.

Puck growled and lept at Jacob Ben Israel. Finn caught him and said, "Puck, he's not worth it,"

Finn turned to Jacob Ben Israel. "Quinn and Puck and engaged," he said to the curly-haired adolescent. "She's taken, and so is Rachel. Get your mind off them. Stop talking in class, man. Seriously."

"The next time, we won't be so nice," Puck snarled. Jacob Ben's Israel's eyes widened, and he muttered, "Okay, okay, I got it!" and turned back to face the teacher, who had not at all noticed the conflict between the three boys.

Finn and Puck both turned to the clock as they both thought, when would the class end? They hoped it was soon because clearly, their patience was running thin.

All the Glee kids met up together at their usual lunch table, some carrying lunch trays, others carrying homemade lunches. Mercedes sat beside Quinn and gave the blonde a hug. "Quinn, you look so good! How's Beth?" she exclaimed, digging into her cafeteria lunch.

Quinn beamed at Mercedes. "Thanks, 'Cedes. Beth is so good, thank you for asking. No problems with her, really. I mean, at first, it was hard to adjust to leaving her with my mom, but I know Mom will take good care of her."

"Yeah, your mom is cool," Mercedes smiled, then turned to Artie as Puck sat down beside Quinn, eyes smouldering.

"You okay, babe?" Quinn asked, placing her hand on his.

He sighed. "JBI was a jerk. As usual."

"Oh. Well, just ignore him," Quinn said.

"He was a jerk about you, Q." Puck said in an annoyed tone.

Quinn's eyebrows furrowed. "What did he say?"

"Just stupid stuff," Puck answered. "I'll tell you about it when we get home."

Quinn nodded. Sometimes when Puck was upset, it was just best to leave him to his thoughts.

Just as everyone had sat down and started their lunches, Jacob Ben Israel approached their lunch table. A collective sigh went around the table as Jacob Ben Israel stopped by Rachel.

"Hi, Rachel," he said, grinning at her. "I was going to ask, could I interview you guys?"

"Seriously, dude?" Mike said. "I'm pretty sure Finn and Puck asked you to leave us be earlier. Take a hint," he added, and Tina nodded in agreement.

"But I just want-" Jacob Ben Israel said, but then Brittany got annoyed and threw her carrots at JBI. He ducked and then scurried away.

"Thank God," Kitty muttered. "He is a complete nuisance."

After that, the conversation lingered between them as they ate their lunch and chatted with their friends or the person sitting next to them. Before they knew it, their day had come to an end. Quinn and Rachel walked out to their cars together as the boys walked behind them.

"Do you think all days will be as crazy as today was?" Quinn asked Rachel, shifting her backpack.

"Maybe. I'm not sure, but after today, I know I can deal with rude people. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought," Rachel answered.

"JBI was bad," Quinn reminded her. "He set Puck off on a tangent, and I swear, if JBI does it again tomorrow, I'm going to kill him."

Rachel raised an eyebrow. "Or just kick some common sense into him."

Quinn laughed. "That too. Okay, I'll see you tomorrow for another chaotic school day, Rachel."

"See you, Quinn. We'll do just fine."
