Author's Note
Sometimes dreams do come true, but they take a while.
This is as true for Clara, the main character of Glass Slippers, as it is for the novel itself. I first started writing Glass Slippers in 2014, posting what would become the first draft on wattpad in 2015. At the time, I had just turned 17, and was a little too worried about things like the SAT, getting ready to go to college, and dealing with a chronic illness to always write the cleanest, tightest draft.
Glass Slippers was a hot mess, a hot mess I loved, but a hot mess nonetheless.
That draft is still available to be read on the site, but over the years it's taken on a few different changes and iterations. Some stuck, some didn't.
And so, 9 years later, I am publishing Glass Slippers in its latest and final form in the Fall of 2024.
But what is this book? Like this literal wattpad book and this author's note you're reading? Why am I posting it?
This is the draft of the published version of Glass Slippers. I wanted to share it with readers on the site for a handful of months before it's published to not only give back to the community that's fostered and read my writing for these past nine years but also to get feedback on it from readers before its publishing.
I hope you enjoy this version of Glass Slippers! If you haven't read the draft before, it's a Cinderella retelling with some significant twists. If you have read the draft before, I hope you enjoy some of the newer aspects and still love the parts you loved before.
This work will be updated every Friday and Monday starting May 6th. There may even be an occasional Wednesday update too.
Thanks for reading!
