Chapter 1

(disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, I'm twisting around the elements to fit my story, so somethings might be confusing)

I looked around me making sure no one was watching, before turning into Knockturn alley. I watched as wanna-be dark wizards entered and exited shops in the dimly lit alley. I pulled my hood over my head and took out my wand, it's a 14 inch black cherry wand with a thestral hair core, in-flexible and good for potions. I stopped in front of a closed shop and waved my wand unlocking it.

I walked in and changed the sign to open and walked to the back of my shop. You've probably never heard of me, my name's Glass Delton, a pure-blood from a long forgotten line, in England at least. We disappeared years ago leaving the country to get away. Most of my family are dark wizards, myself included. A good number of us are parselmouths due to being loosely related to Salazar Slytherin, again myself included. I made the dumb decision to comeback to England to go to Hogwarts for my 5th, 6th and 7th year.

I suppose looking back at it, it wasn't the dumbest thing I'd ever done, I mean sure going to England where dark magic is looked upon as evil is quite dumb. But, I was an ambitious teenager who wanted to learn more and see more. I've never once regretted that decision. It is after all how I met my best friend, Tom Marvolo Riddle.

Arriving at Hogwarts as a transfer student already made lots of people suspicious, being sorted into Slytherin made them all think I was evil, they weren't wrong. Tom and I clicked almost instantly both enjoying the dark arts and the secrets it held. The Chamber of Secrets was our little hideout. It's where we made a promise to each other, the day we swore we'd be friends forever, the day we created the dark mark to showcase our friendship.

I still have it on my forearm, I'm not a Death Eater, never was, officially that is, I'm just the Dark Lord's friend and he just so happened to use the mark to mark his followers. I don't really mind, Tom has turned into something to be feared only showing his true self when we're alone. We don't want anyone to know about our relationship so whenever he comes with one of his followers I don't address him as Tom.

I had just finished putting new books on the shelves when people started streaming in. My shop is quite popular with dark wizards, or wizards who want to learn the dark arts. I enjoy creating spells, potions, runes and writing books about my discoveries. Since lots of the things in my shop were created by yours truly it's unregistered magic making it untraceable and useful when trying to surprise an enemy. "Mr. Delton sir?" I turned around to come face to face with one Draco Malfoy, "Yes?"

"My father wanted to invite you to our before Christmas Eve party at Malfoy manor." He said, handing me a letter. "Aren't you going to be at the Yule ball held at Hogwarts this year?" I asked.

"Yes, but I was in need of some things from Diagon Alley, mainly gifts. I'm spending the weekend at Malfoy Manor."

"I see, that makes sense I suppose. Thank you Draco, and how many times must I tell you to call me Glass?"

"Sorry, I'm just used to it, it's what I called you when we first met."

"Yes, yes, Mr. Delton just makes me feel old is all."

"Mr. Delton!" I sighed, turning to the front desk, "I'll see you later Draco." I said turning to leave. I stepped behind the desk looking at the stack of books and potions infront of me. "Will this be all?" I asked, "Yes, thank you." I looked at the books, one on wandless magic, another on wordless, one on spell creation and one on the languages of mystical beings. I glanced at the potions, one invisibility potion, and one Felix Felicis or liquid luck, I did say most things were originally created by yours truly not all.

"That'd be 41 galleons please." I said, "That many?" the man asked.

"Felix Felicis isn't exactly cheap to make you know, and the time needed to make it is long."

"Fine." He grumbled pulling 41 galleons out of his pocket. He placed them on the table, shrunk his things and left the shop. I turned to look over where I last saw Draco, he must have left already, Christmas is in a few days. I need to remember to make him something before he leaves to go to Hogwarts again.

I continued to help customers throughout the day then closed the shop at 7 and left, heading towards Gringotts bank. I had some money I needed to put into my vault seeing as there's no point in leaving money lying around.

I walked out into Diagon Alley walking towards Gringotts. As soon as I entered the bank all goblins stopped and looked at me, "Welcome," One said in Gobbledegook, "Thank you." I replied, I learned their language out of boredom a few years back, then I helped them with some things, so now we have a mutual respect for one another. "Here to drop off money?" Ha, they know me so well, I rarely take anything from my vault seeing as I run a popular dark business, they know about it but, they know I don't like harming magical beings if I can help it, the only ones that deserve harming are the people who side with the Ministry and the Ministry themselves, they agree with me.

"Yeah, busy day today."

"Then come follow me."

"What's your name?"

"Ranlok."

"Nice to meet you Ranlok."

"Yes, yes, it's nice to finally meet you as well, I've heard good things about you."

We didn't engage in anymore conversations afterward, I dropped off around 150 galleons then proceeded to leave the bank thanking Ranlok.

I apparated home walking towards my study. I need to make gifts for Tom and Draco, perhaps even for Lucius and Narcissa.

I know what I'm making Tom, the guy doesn't ever stop complaining about his appearance, went from top 5 hottest guys to- whatever it is that he is now. I walked around gathering potion ingredients. I filled the cauldron with water then added the ingredients, stirring it clockwise 5 times. I let it simmer on a low heat for a couple of minutes making sure everything was fine before turning away to make Draco's gift.

I'm gonna make him a sword. It makes little sense but I feel he might enjoy it, I know I enjoy the feeling of my sword piercing another's flesh, makes it so much more real than shooting a spell. It's also quite fun to enter tournaments. Anyhow, getting Draco just any old sword would be distasteful so I'll make one that uses the owner's magic. I suppose I'll have to make spells that'll work with it but that's no issue.

I mean come on which sane kid doesn't want a sword that lights on fire made by yours truly? Anyhow, I drew out blueprints for the look of the sword, and wrote some notes down for the spell creation. After doing this I turned back to add the finishing touches to the potion before bottling it up and wrapping it in pink wrapping paper just to get on Tom's nerves.

For Narcissa I got green and silver snake earrings, knowing her, she already has them. For Lucius I got a new cane, because why the bloody hell not?

A day before the Christmas party I finished Draco's sword, it's a dark grey evenly balanced 3 foot sword. It has a green emerald on the pommel and silver and brown wrappings on the hilt. I only made one spell deciding I would make a new one for him each year on his birthday. The spell is called ignis, fire in latin, it basically just lights the sword on fire.

Tommy boy is invited to the party as well, we both decided that we trust the Malfoys enough to tell them of our relationship which we decided we are going to do at the party.

I had all the gifts wrapped and was dressed in black and green suit. Whoever decided robes should be a thing was an idiot. Back home we just wear whatever we want, it's almost impossible to fight in a robe, crazy British wizards.

I apparated in front of Malfoy manor, Death Eaters, everywhere. Everyone invited is a Death Eater, why am I not surprised? I walked into the manor looking for Tom and the Malfoys. "Welcome, Glass." I turned around to look into the eyes of Narcissa Malfoy, "Thank you, Narcissa."

"Come, the Dark Lord has been waiting for you, Lucius and Draco are there as well."

"Right then, lead the way."

I followed Narcissa into a study away from the party. Tommy boy is looking as noseless as ever. "Hello, Glassss." Nagini greeted.

"Hello, Nagini." I hissed back in parseltongue.

"Did you bring me a rat?"

"'Course I did, here." I tossed her a rat which she started eating right away. "You spoil her Glasss." Tom hissed, "Look at me and tell me you don't." I hissed back.

"Fair enough."

I laughed at the shocked faces of the Malfoys. "I didn't know you speak parseltongue." Lucius said, "I do, always have, there are many things you don't know but will be finding out today. That is why we're here is it not?"

"Well, yes I suppose so."

"Okay," I started, "I have gifts, Narcissa, this is for you." I said, handing her a small dark green bag. "Lucius, this is for you." I said, handing him a long light green wrapped gift. "And Draco this is for you." I gave him his silver wrapped gift and watched him open it. "A sword?" He asked. "Yep, ignis." I breathed, the sword lit up covering itself in a bright orange flame. "Exstinxisti (extinguished in Latin, just a rough translation)," I whispered.

"That's so cool!" Draco exclaimed, "Yes, instructions are in the card, oh and the flames can't hurt you seeing as you're the owner."

"Thank you."

"It's no problem Draco."

"Tommy boy, catch!" I yelled, throwing him his pink wrapped gift.

"Are you kidding? Pink? Really?" He asked.

"Why of course, you seemed to like the colour a lot, after all, most of your possessions mysteriously turned pink in your seventh year."

"Oh drop the act, I know it was you!"

"Lil' ole me? No, it couldn't be."

"You know if you admit it I'm willing to forgive you."

"I'm sorry I have no idea as to what you're talking about." I turned my head looking at the shocked Malfoys not believing that someone would dare speak to dear old dark Tommy boy like that without being blasted into oblivion. "It seems as though we might have to explain some things to our dear friends." I said. "It seems as though you are correct." We then proceeded to explain our lives my background, the first time we met all the crazy stupid things we ever did and of course I showed them my Dark Mark.

"So, that's all." I said.

"Quite a story." Lucius spoke, still trying to wrap his head around it.

"We are expecting you not to tell anyone." Tom said.

"Yes, of course, thank you for trusting us." Narcissa answered.

"Now then, Tommy, drink the potion."

"Am I gonna turn pink?"

"No, just trust me."

"Fine." Tom drank the potion and we all watched as he went from Voldemort to Tom Riddle. I conjured a mirror and passed it to him. "I must thank you for this Glass." He said, staring at himself. "It's permanent and you can change back into noseless Voldemort at will, I thought it might be useful, you can walk around in plain sight as T.M.Riddle then do Dark Lord things as Voldemort."

"Yes, you've truly outdone yourself again Glass, on that note, I got something for you." He walked out of the room coming back in a minute later with a dark green and black Boa Constrictor around his shoulders. "Here, I thought you might want some company." He handed me the snake who instantly wrapped itself around my shoulders. "You are a ssspeaker?" She asked. "Yess, do you have a name?"

"No, give one to me?"

"Necrozma." (A/N, Yes, I know it's a pokémon, leave me alone.)

"Yessss, I like it."

-line break-

Hours later I apparated home and let Necrozma explore, I didn't even open my bedroom door before I heard someone urgently knock on my front door.

Odd, I'm not expecting anyone, it's almost midnight. I whipped out my wand and cautiously opened the door. I was met with two familiar faces. "Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall, to whom do I owe the pleasure?" I asked. "Well, Professor Moody has said he does not wish to continue teaching next year. So, we came to ask if you would like to fill the position next year." Dumbledore answered.

"No thanks, I'm a busy man, I can't just close up shop for a whole year because you guys need a teacher."

"Do tell where this shop you mentioned is? I've never seen it before."

"You wouldn't know it, it's a small out of the way business."

'Lol, it's actually really popular and literally every aspiring Dark Wizard knows the place.' I thought.

"Right then, thank you for your time."

"Question, why come here in the middle of the night?"

"I find the best conversations are held at night."

"Huh, well then, Goodnight." I shut the door in their faces and went to bed, crazy old man wants me to teach? Crouch Jr. is doing a fine job trying to kill Harry Potter in the tournament ha, idiots don't even know Voldemort never died he dodged the curse at the last second and apparated away. He had to lay low for a while to gather strength again which is why people think he's dead. Tommy boy's gonna use the Tournament to 'come back to life' and to try and kill Harry Potter, and I say try because we all know Tommy's a softy at heart.

Dumbledore is probably going to go to the ministry in a few months to find a teacher for next year. Once Harry tells everyone Voldemort is back he's gonna be portrayed as a liar by the ministry, successfully ruining his reputation.

Tommy always has such amusing plans. It's like a muggle movie. Speaking of muggle movies I need to see one where evil wins, it's absurd the amount of times weak people win just because they're 'good'. Honestly it's like comparing a rat to a snake, the snake is going to win, don't make the rat win because it has some hidden power with which it can beat the snake, that's absolute bullshit.

(Harry is currently in year 4 with the tri-wiz tournament going on. Glass is not an official Death Eater. He does help Tom because they are best friends and he is a dark wizard, he might not care for blood purity and doesn't hate magical creatures (he respects them) but he still hates the British Ministry.)
