Chapter 6.a

The students walked into a magnificent room with floating candles as the walls of the room faded into the sky.

"It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History." Hermione said with awe.

She's an obnoxious little know-it-all, Jack thought as he glanced at Hermione. Professor McGonagall then stood up and started to call out names.

"Bones, Susan"

"Hufflepuff!"

The Hufflepuff table clapped as Susan sat down next to a brown-haired boy.

"Nott, Theodore"

"Slytherin!"

"Patil, Parvati"

"Gryffindor!"

"Haddock, Hiccup Horrendous"

The snickers that had started up stopped as Dumbledore gave them all a look as Hiccup walked up to the Sorting Hat. He shakily placed it on his head and they waited for it to say his house.

"Hmm....very tricky," he jumped as he heard someone's speak in his ear.

"What?" he thought, as he looked around.

"Oh nothing at all, just me," the voice said.

"Who?" Hiccup questioned.

"The Sorting Hat. Now quite your mind as I see your traits. Your sma—"

"Your alive?"

"Of course I am, how would I be able to sort you then? Anyways, your smart, but your very loyal as well . . . I believe you should be in Hufflepuff!"

The Hufflepuff table cheered as Hiccup walked over and sat next to the brown-haired boy and Susan.

"Hey, I'm Cedric. You're Hiccup, right?" the boy asked suddenly.

"Yeah, great name, I know," Hiccup answered sadly.

"No, I think it's funny," Cedric answered as he glanced over at the Sorting Hat.

"Lovegood, Luna"

"Ravenclaw!"

Professor McGonagall then said a name that caught Hiccup's attention.

"Dunbroch, Merida"

Merida walked up there proudly and sat on the stool, waiting for the old hat to sort her into her house.

"Ah, a Dunbroch I see. Your devil brothers are coming soon too, eh?" the Sorting Hat asked, shuddering at the thought.

"Yah, they should be comin' soon," Merida replied proudly in her head. Her mum warned her about the Sorting Hat but it still freaked her out that a talking hat decided your fate at Hogwarts.

"You're very brave, anyone could tell. You're also very protective of people who are close to you . . . "

"Can ya' please hurry up? I'd like ta' eat soon," she thought impatiently.

"Children these days, always in a rush. All right then . . . I believe you should be in Gryffindor!"

As soon as Merida heard the Sorting Hat yell her house, she smiled as she rushed over to the far table and sit down. Her family has been in Gryffindor for centuries. There should have been no doubt.

Rapunzel was so excited when Mother Gothel decided to let her go out of her tower to Hogwarts. But Mother Gothel had never let Rapunzel go out of her sight until she got onto the train. She kept telling me to keep my hair a secret, but I think my hair is going to be helpful someday, Rapunzel thought as her new friend Merida got sorted into Gryffindor.

"Corona, Rapunzel"

Ooh, that was me! But my last name isn't Corona, Rapunzel thought as she moved through the crowd.

She walked up to the Sorting Hat and place it on her head. What's going to hap—

"Hello dearie."

She look around wildly, trying to locate the voice.

"Where are you?" Rapunzel thought to herself, her gaze wandering around the room.

"I'm the Sorting Hat. I'm just looking into your head to see what house I should put you in. You're very curious, and bright . . . ah! You also don't know much about your history . . . but that will be fixed quickly this year, that's for sure . . . " the voice commented knowingly.

"What do you mean?" Rapunzel thought, eager to get more information.

"That's not for me to divulge . . . but you seem to be just right for Ravenclaw!"

The Sorting Hat shouted causing the Ravenclaw table to burst into applause as Rapunzel skipped over and took a seat, wondering what the Sorting Hat meant as Professor McGonagall called the next person.

"Potter, Harry"

Everyone started whispering as Harry walked up to the Sorting Hat. Rapunzel felt bad for Harry, he never asked for this fame...

"Gryffindor!"

Everyone cheered as Harry Potter stepped off the stool and walked to the Gryffindor table as Professor McGonagall called the next person.

"Arendell, Elsa"

Elsa trembled as she walked up to the Sorting Hat. Ice was left in her tracks, but to her relief nobody noticed except for Jack.

She put on the Hat with shaking hands and waited to be sorted.

"Hello, my dear. You are very nervous aren't you..."

"Please just get this over with," she thought with a shudder. If he revealed my secret . . .

"Ok, I will . . . "
